We ordered food for pickup at about 8:45pm. (This location will not deliver to us even though we are less than 2 miles away.) The person on the phone was very short with me but I overlooked it. I arrived to pick up my order and the girl at the register did not even make eye contact with me as she ordered me to swipe my card. The store was moderately busy - only two other people waiting. She shoved a bag into my hands and dismissed me quickly then moved on to the next person without a word. When I got home, I realized that the girl had given me the wrong order. (I did not consume or touch any of it, just opened it and saw that it was wrong.) I would�ve checked my order before I left but I was rushed to the point to where I didn't have the chance. I called to let them know and the person on the phone had the AUDACITY to tell me that it was �not their problem� and that it was �my fault for not checking before I left�. I said I just wanted my order. Instead of agreeing to fix the problem, the person told me "fine." but I would have to come back and bring the wrong order - as if I�m a complete liar and a thief. I went back. The girl at the counter snatched the food from my hands and basically threw the correct order at me. I calmly and politely asked to speak with a manager. I was then told that she would tell the manager later and dismissed me AGAIN. I left the store, a little disgusted, and as I was leaving, the counter girl threw the food I had just returned to someone waiting in the lobby area and said "this is yours" before dismissing that person. It is completely horrible that she would not remake that order for that person since it went home with someone else. Especially because the bag was torn open - it was tied tightly so I had to tear it - and the food had been opened before I realized it was the wrong order. This has GOT to be a health code violation.
I am completely disgusted by the complete lack of anything resembling customer service and the fact that I paid so much money for cold and overpriced food from the absolute rudest people ever. I work very hard for my money and when I pay for service, I should get it. When you are at work, you are being paid to do your job. Customer service is part of that job. Perhaps these employees should look for work elsewhere. The behavior I encountered was UNACCEPTABLE. I am going to tell everyone I know to stay away from California Chicken Grill unless they want questionable food that someone else has already opened and the worst customer service around.
