Unfortunately, I have been one of the victims of this company. I was actually dumb enough to be suckered into accepting the services this company was offering with the understanding that I had no obligation.
In early November of 2008, I received a call on my cell phone from this company who was offering free gas vouchers if I tried their legal and medical services. I was asked to just look at the paperwork they would be sending me in the mail with no obligation. At first, I said "NO", but they continued to persist until they got me to say "Yes". I was hesitant to give them my bank account #, but they promised that I would only be paying for shipping of the paperwork(ever so stupid me!). Upon agreeing, I was transferred to a "verifier" who confirmed that I was agreeing to everything the previous representative had offered me about their services, and then the call ended. I thought about it for about 24 hours and decided that I better call them back and cancel because I didn't have the time to be worrying about miscellaneous things I received in the mail and I might forget to cancel later, so I called them the very next day and cancelled the account. I do not remember the person I spoke to nor if they gave me a "CANCELLATION CODE". After that I forgot about it completely. Throughout the following nine months, I did not realize that these people had been taking a total of $49.90 per month out of my checking account because I do not monitor my account very closely. Needless to say, "I will now!" Last month (August 29th), I was reviewing my account and noticed these charges I was not familiar with. I contacted the number provided on the transaction, and I called. When I realized what had been occurring for nine months, I was absolutely "LIVID". When I explained that I had cancelled this the very next day after agreeing to the terms, the representative asked me, "Ma'am, do you have the "cancellation code". I explained that this was almost a year ago and who knows where I might have had that information or if I had it at all. Well, with that they refused to give me the full refund of $449.10 (the total amount taken out of my account). I have spoken to numerous respresentatives and 3 different "escalation" managers.
They speak to you as if you are "stupid" and you don't know what you are talking about. They have given me the runaround. It takes ranting and raving to have a representative transfer you to a manager. The first manager I spoke with refunded only one month's worth of charges ($49.90). When I called again two days later and after ranting and raving for about 40 minutes, the second supervisor "PROMISED" me a refund of $239.55, and that she would submit a request for the remaining amount ($209.55). She promised I would receive the refund in approximately 10-14 business days. After monitoring my account for the next two weeks, I realized that they only refunded me a partial amount of what I was promised, and I immediately called them again. It's like pulling teeth to get to a manager. I was disconnected, left on hold for long periods of time, a loud tone was put on the phone, which forced me to hang up and call back! Just amazing! I finally got another manager who AGAIN "promised" me that he would process a refund for the remaining amount and that it would be processed in 3-5 business days. I checked my account this morning and realized that they had still not refunded the amount promised, but only partial. At this point, I am so fed up with these people, I just don't know what to do. I called them again and after speaking with the rep for almost 20 minutes, the call was disconnected. I was finally able to speak to the same manager whom I spoke with last week. I voiced my concerns and he said he would do his best to get the remaining "promised" amount processed, but didn't promise me anything! OH, NOW THERE ARE NO PROMISES!
I asked him for a phone number to the complaint department, and he said he was unable to disclose that information. I asked for an address to which I could submit a written complaint. He gave me a California address with a zip code that begins with the number 7. I am a CA resident and know that zip codes here DO NOT begin with a 7.
WHO ARE THEY KIDDING???? UNBELIEVABLE!
Then I finally decided to check to see if I could get any information online. I googled "Caller Advantage" and found nothing but links to complaints about this company! I feel so stupid for having allowed these people take advantage of me. They should be renamed to "CALLER DISADVANTAGE". Seeing how they have ripped so many people off, I want ALL of my money back. I want to know what to do to get it back.
ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!
