Over Charge
Call in Europe overcharges by thousands...
with Verizon, ATT and Sprint you can negotiate.
With Call in Europe there is there way or the highway.
A brick wall.
And, watch out for the shipping charges...
TWELVE dollars to ship a SIM card.
Customer Service is actually Customer - is- always-wrong Service.
They need to get rid of their ONE person who works there and start all over.
Rude, rude, rude. Beware. And, cheats.

Account Disconnected without warning
Our service was disconnected without a note just before our trip, despite that I called the company and requested not to disconnect services. When I called the customer support, operator was quite helples. He told me that the only option I have now is to buy a new account. The only reason I ever bought their service was to have a permanent phone number while travelling oversea which I can give my coworkers and friends.
My opinion - stay away from "Call in Europe" - any prepaid card would do the job for less money.

European Cell Phone Rental
I rented a cellphone for use in the UK and Italy in June, 2009. The phone didn't work and repeated attempts to contact Call in Europe by email and telephone (after purchasing an international calling card) went unanswered. When I returned to the U.S., I called the company and demanded a refund. They told me to return the phone to them, which I initially refused to do. After repeated attempts to negotiate a refund, they assured me they would "consider" it after examining the phone. I mailed it back, and subsequently had a charge added to my credit card for returning the phone late! I would strongly recommend not doing business with Call in Europe.

dangerous billing system
My advice is to not use Call In Europe. There are many safer options available. Although it may be convenient, your usage with Call In Europe is directly tied to your credit card with no fraud detection or charge limit. The result is if your phone or card is stolen, the thief can rack up several thousand dollars worth of calls until you discover the theft and notify Call In Europe. Their terms and conditions state you are still liable for all the charges, fraudulent or not, until the day you notify them. If you don’t discover the theft right away, you will find yourself with fraudulent charges on your credit card that CIE will not refund. This is what happened to me. CIE sued me for $5000 that was charged on the phone during the month prior to the realization that the phone was stolen. It's too late for me, but I don't want anyone else to go through this nightmare as well.

Misleading Sales Practices/Charges for Customer Service
I purchased a sim card from Call in Europe prior to a trip to Italy. I inserted the sim card and was given instructions to call a number to set-up the voice mail prompt. After being disconnected several times, and having to call back, I was finally able to get the voice mail activated. In total, I incurred "16 minutes" of airtime, according to the invoice I received from them, which the minutes are grossly inflated.
The complaint is that I am being charged over $70 for these initial minutes to set-up the voice mail!! I followed the instructions that were sent to me, but the computer prompts put me in a loop, and caused me to disconnect several times. In addition, I was being charged for text messages that the recipients never received, and calls to people that were never made!!! Can you say, SCAM!!!
This was the biggest waste of money ever, and I WARN ALL POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS - DO NOT USE "CALL IN EUROPE"!!! The customer service rep could care less after I spoke with him - 'there is nothing I can do'. Well, yes, there is something you can do - remove the $70 in unnecessary charges!!! tack on the other questionable text messages and minutes, and the invoice was over $100!!! This is a huge scam, and I unfortunately am one of the people who got raked over the coals here.
AGAIN, SAFE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION AND DO NOT USE CALL IN EUROPE - WWW.CALLINEUROPE.COM.
Lesson learned - spend the extra few dollars and purchase or rent a world phone that your service local provider will support here in the states. After all is said and done, I am out over $150 for something that would have cost me maybe $35-$40 from my local provider!!! So much for trying to save money!!
