refusal to pay me paid trainings money as promised
I went through months of training with the above named company from March 2010-June 2010 in the hopes of being employed upon completion of the training classes certain test scores and knowledge. During this time I was given last minute scheduled or last minute rescheduled training date notices, I was told by 3 different staff employees that I would be paid for my training and once I start work I would no longer be paid $7.50hrly but $21.50hrly. On May 27, 2010 I had taken my physical exam and according to C&D was supposed to be the last of everything that I needed to do before coming in to pick up my uniforms, weapon, etc and work schedule. Once I came into the office retrieve my equipment needed to start, when will I receive my training pay . I was then told oh by the way you will need to complete a three day on the job training before you can receive your paid training {I was never ever told about this} June14, 2010 I reported to my assigned post. After asking, I was told by the Sargent that I would be paid $7.50hrly for the next three days because this was still considered training {I had no prior knowledge of this either}. At this same site one of the female guards employed by C&D failed to report for duty. The Sargent by orders of the Captain disarmed me. I was told that I would be put in her place. I was also told to sign out for training and sign in for on duty. I did. And was also told that I would be making $13.00hrly now. After being told that . I asked the Sargent why am I being paid that I was hired as an armed guard, the application I filled out was for armed security, I was not happy with the way this company is doing business and I can't except anymore deceit or misleading information and i needed to leave and go into the office and speak with someone to address my concerns. I even told him that I wasn't quitting but when the company is ready to pay me what they promised once I started the job{$21.50 hrly} I'm still very much interested. He took out his cell phone and said that he was calling the office to notify them that i was unhappy and needed to speak with them about it. He asked me to stay until they sent a replacement for me. I did. The Sargent returned and told me that the Captain wanted me to come immediately to the office and turn in all my equipment. As I was preparing to exit the building the Sargent's personal cell phone rang .1st call was the Luetinent. 2nd call was the Captain both were telling him to collect my holster and gun before I leave the site, these messages were relayed to me by the Sargent . I did as told. 1hour later I arrived at the main office with uniforms in a bag. Neither of the 4 people said anything to me. After standing there for a few minutes I was told to have a seat in the other room. The Captain entered the room with an equipment check sheet in hand. He began checking off my returned equipment and never said anything until I asked him when do I get paid? And what am I being paid for? He said June 25th and for today only. I asked about my training pay. I was then told that I'm not being paid for that. No explanation was given. June 25th I picked up my paycheck from the main office. I was then asked what happened? And once again told that Corporate will not pay me for training. Write a letter to Loretta Dunigan explaining what happened and requesting my money. Ms. Dunigan works in the main office next to the person that told me to do this. And was 1 of the people in the main office when I returned my uniforms the day of the incident.
