Mail forward notice mis-delivered & not taking phone calls - too busy - and hanging up
Today, Feb. 4, 2011, I received an "Important Notice From Canada Post - Confirmation of Change of Address or Hold Mail Service" notice and it's addressed to the previous owners of my house who moved out six months ago. So, the previous owners have paid for and entrusted Canada Post to handle their mail forwarding and Canada Post has just notified me, the wrongful recipient, of this. How unprofessional and incompentent. Here's the kicker. The notice bears this phone number to call and this is what it states, "If you have NOT requested either of these services, please report this matter by calling our toll free number at 1-800-267-1177." So, I call 1-800-267-1177 today (Friday) at 1:45 p.m. and you know what I got? I got an automated message telling me that... "we're experiencing higher than expected call volumes and we will NOT be taking your call today. Thank you for calling and have a nice day." and their automated system proceeded to hang-up on me. Now, does this give you the impression that Canada Post seriously manages their, in their words, "Important Notices"? To make matters worse, I attempted to email a complaint to them and yet, every "Contact Us" button I clicked on simply gave me a bunch of FAQ's with no contact information but, rather, more links to more FAQ's just in case the first round of FAQ's didn't cover it. Of course, none of them did.
Seriously, this has made me realize that Canada Post is not trustworthy and that they simply do NOT care about the inferior services that they're providing. The attitude has been clearly demonstrated as, "We don't care about your complaints and we don't want to hear them either - Go away!"
To that, I say, "You got it!"

We were in a long line-up at the post office at Shoppers Drug Mart located
at 3003 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario on January 11, 2011.
The line was moving very slowly. The postal clerk did not seem to know what
she was doing either. She was yelling at customers, particularly the visible
minority customers. Her bad attitude was abrasive and rude.
We checked the price she quoted with the printed postal price, and rightly
discovered that she had overcharged us. We asked her to correct the problem
and refund us the difference. Clearly, she had made an error. Instead of
correcting the problem, she told us to get out of the store.on January 11,

Complaining to CanadaPost was of NO use since we received no reply.
Escalating to CanadaPost Ombudsman was a waste of time, since Beth Lambert, the CanadaPost Ombudsman did nothing about it.

Won't deliver parcels
For a long time now I have been unable to persuade Canada Post to deliver parcels to me even though they have been well paid to do just that. I live in an apartment and I am being punished by lazy Posties who refuse to make the effort to just ring the buzzer or even try to knock on the door. I have complained to the Post outlet given on the notice but they are Pakis who just stand there with a glazed look on their eyes and do not attempt to find my mail unless I pretty much point out the package to them. Is there some magic thing I can do to compell Canada Post to deliver the mail they are paid to? Who can I talk to in person at the post office? Yesterday (Dec 17) I waited all day for delivery only to yet again be foiled by the elusive postie who stealthely hangs the notice card and flees. As per usual they did not tear off the label that should be applied to the parcel so of course when I went to the post office to try and get it the Pakis refused to even look because the label had not been applied by the Postie. They told me to call the 1 800 number which of course just tells me Canada post is closed - please try later. I tried again today with the same results. I guess you are closed alot at this time of the year but the recording doesn't even tell me when you might be open next. I tried to track the package by phone but your system would not take the id number I have. I also tried online with the same refusal given. You guys are the PERFECT "no" machine. Can anyone tell me how I can start ACTUALLY getting the mail I pay for? I have spent many trips in the last couple of years going to the office where my undelivered mail goes to and often I come away empty handed because the Pakis can't be bothered to put in any effort to reach down and pick up my package. The frustration I experience is considerable and you guys should owe me quite alot of money back since your failure to deliver. I am leaving for holidays and expected this very important package and now of course you guys screwed me yet again and by the time I get back my package will be sent back again. That is the cruelest irony: often my undelievered package sits there so long because the Pakis can't find it and then it is sent back. I doubt very much anyone will call me but I am requesting a call from Canada Post to see if they might try a little customer service since they have been well paid for it. Again my cell is . My latest package which can not be tracked (as usual) The delivery person put no information of any kind on the notice. No time, why it was not delivered, didn't tear off the label so of course the post office where it is supposed to be said they can't help me. You guys are not reachable by phone so I am reduced to having to send e-mail. Your goal is Customer Service?

Customer Service Reps - my way or the highway
I phoned to follow up with a complaint I filed. They informed me that the package which is supposed to be held for two weeks for pickup was sent back to the Toronto depot for redelivery. So rather than actually delivering the package one block from the postal outlet they decided to send it back into the system to only once again come back for redelivery (sent south some 6hrs). I asked who authorized the return of the parcel and when I didn't get an answer I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was given over to "Lynn". I explained that the package had items for an elderly persons health. She proceeded to tell me no it didn't! Then when she didn't agree with anything I had to say threatened to hang up on me. I asked her for the name of who authorized return of my item. She then said that the item wasn't mine even though it was paid for by me. I said how can a supervisor not know who authorized return of a package and how do you figure the package contents don't belong to me. She had no answer. So I told her that I wanted to put in a complaint about her. She gave me a file number. I asked when could I expect a return call and she said that there wouldn't be a return call. I said why because the complaint is about you? She then said have a nice day and hung up on me. Again and again Canada Post REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKES on top of which they put peoples health at risk.

Rude Senior Employees - L4E1A4 branch
Unionizing government employees just encourages rude behaviour and overall poor employee performance.
There were two elderly Canada Post employees behind the counter that were clearly having major challenges with the tough-screen console and blamed me and my child - the customers for their shortcomings. I was trying to ask a question if a piece of paper added to the parcel would change the cost and the employee "sshhhssd" me. After a few attempts in getting an answer to my question - they finally answered me in a very exasperated and "dismissing" tone. As if my question was irrelevant and outright silly.
I pointed out that they were being very curt and abrupt. One of them said because it was all of a sudden too noisy - there were only two customers!
If they can't handle two customers and would put the blame on their customers for their poor behaviour - how about providing the employment opportunity to other people who would actually appreciate the work they do.

undeliverable mail
I made an online purchase which was mailed (express post) to me using Canada Post. My package instead went to the 'Undeliverable' mail office, who knows where that is... I got no answer form anyone form Canada post because I was not the sender, they had my address on file, and yet no one could tell me why the item was deemed undeliverable. What’s most disturbing is; if Canada post deems a package undeliverable they can sell it and pocket the cash…that’s just wrong, especially since they make it impossible to make a claim. I am so dissatisfied with how this was handled by Canada Post I will go out of my way to avoid using them in the future!!!

Failed delivery
A small package (about 500 g) was mailed from Scarborough, Ontario on Thursday March 25 to my address in Edmonton, Alberta. It hasn't arrived as of Thursday 8 April. When checking the tracking number, I was horrified to find that the package had arrived in Edmonton postal depot on Saturday 3 April, and finally the item was sent out for delivery on the 7th. Having not received it as of 5.30pm on the 8th, I phoned the Canada Post and received no satisfactory answer, except I was advised to contact the sender and put a trace on it.
Imagine the package is sitting somewhere a few blocks from my home for 5 days, and Canada Post was unable to deliver it.
They are eager to raise the postage rates regularly, it charges one of the highest rates in the world for letter mail and parcels, and the lowest speed in delivering them. Perhaps the only country that charges GST on stamps, and charges $5 for delivering customs parcels. It is time to replace the greedy heads of this inept crown corporation with people who can afford a little care towards its customers.

Missing delivery
I bought a HTC mobile online and it was paid using Paypal. The item was shipped via Canada Post Xpresspost with a tracking number with a signature option. I regularly checked the tracking number provided and on one fine day it was updated that the item was delivered to me at 10.30 AM. I was in my work place and did not take it that seriously thinking that it should have been given to the nearby post office or to my neighbor who is also a friend of mine. But it turned out that there were no packages delivered that day. I checked with the delivery man the next day and he denied of bringing any parcels. I called up Canada Post customer care and they mentioned that only the sender can open a case. The sender was kind enough to open a request and its been 2-3 weeks but there is no positive sign from them.
It is disturbing that someone from Canada post has done such a thing. The signature option was not used at all. I wonder how they would have delivered to someone who was not even present in the delivery place.
I would strongly recommend to be extra careful in sending valuables using Canada Post. There is no guarantee that the items would be delivered even if a signature and tracking option is chosen. I hope I get the item which was stolenmisplaced soon. Any pointers to escalate this issue would be much appreciated.
