Returns requiring Cdn Tire money
I came to get keys cut on July 11th - (3 keys) at Store 302 - Richmond Road. As it turned out - they didn't work - the wrong blank was used. On July 12th I came and had replacements cut - then had to go to customer service to return the others and pay for the difference - the total time for this on July 12 exceeded 40 minutes due to line-ups at Automotive and customer service. As it turned out - these keys still didn't work - the wrong blank was used again. I returned them today - July 13th. I was refunded the amount paid less the Canadian Tire money - which I couldn't return as I always drop it in the donation box at the front of the store. I don't want the money in the first place but now I have to pay for it. 3 trips, in total - gas, time and effort - and I had to pay Canadian Tire for the privilege of doing so. That's really adding insult to injury. Signs should be posted that any returned items must be accompanied by Canadian Tire $ - or you have to pay for it - customers should also be given the option of opting out of receiving it. Being charged for it really added insult to injury in this case after allt he time and effort it took to buy - oh yes - NOTHING!!!.

return policy
i bought this little steam carpet cleaner calledthe little green machine with the asistance of a store associate on june 22, 2011. she recommended this machine to me because she has never had any complaints with it. she also warrents me that if i don't like it, i can return it for complete refund (she said within a year but i read the back of the receipt it says 90 days) so i bought the machine. after using it twice i decided this machine does not satisfy my need becasue it's too small, has no enough suction and i have to bend down to use it. it's hard for my back. so i went back to the store and asked for a refund. customer service representative told me there is NO REFUND ON THIS KIND OF PRODUCT. i told her calmly that the associate told me if i don't like it i can return it for a full refund. had i been told that there's no refund on this kind of product, i would never have bought it. in addition, i returned the product with original box and all the parts with it. the customers service lady also said it's not in resaleable condition because it's been used. i was not only never been told about the no refund policy on this product, i was told the complete opposite. i left the store with the machine and went home to call their head office. unfortunately, the head office passed the hot potato back to the branch manager and he has still not called me back. i will be making another visit to see if i can talk to the store manager face to face. if this doesn't get solved in a way that satisfys me, i will never set a foot in canadian tire again.

Bad service
I attampted to purchase a stack-on safe at the Canadian Tire in Windamere in Edmonton. The safe is in the exit area of the store and was on sale for $499. I needed to talk with three different people before I could actually try and pay for the safe. I was told to go to the loading doors around the back to have it loaded into my vehicle. I waited for over 30 minutes. When staff finally came to the door they told me that they didn't have any safes left. I asked if they could call another store and was told that they are all independently owned so I wouldn't get the same price. They offered the floor model to me but they didn't have the combination to the door so they 'could try phoning me next week if they can find the combo'. (I'm not kidding - they thought I would take it home without any way to get into it) I then had to back around to the front of the store to get my refund. That's when I noticed a sign saying that Canadian Tire will meet any competitors price. Apparently they can't even their your own bloody price across town! After this 45 minute shopping 'experience' I will be sure to avoid Canadian Tire at all costs in the future.

Return Policy
bought an Air Conditioner from Canadaian Tire & after one use found it didn't cool the room as the box said. (up to 300sq feet) so wanted to returned it.. Because I had used it, it was non-returnable - How do you know you like something unless you use it! Unbelievable...a note for others...If you buy it from CANADIAN TIRE AND USE IT...IT'S YOURS...Embarrassed they have the Canadian name associated with the store!

car shop
I brought my car in last sunday for a seasonal oil change...I had to go back the following day because they did not check any of the lights on my car and then they tried to charge me a extra $50.00 on top of that.On the next day after that I was driving home and the check engine soon light comes on then the car was smoking so I check the oil and guess what not even 1 drop is in there. So I phoned them and gave them SHIT!!! All they could say is you have a oil leak...even though I put 4.3 L of oil back in my car wednesday morning and still 1 week later it is still full (I do have a minor oil leak but I only have to put 1L in every 3 weeks). Those ASSHOLES won't even give me my money back...IF YOU JACK ASSES ARE READING THIS FUCK YOU!!!

would not return or replace
i was given a mastercraft dremel/ rotary tool for christmas. upon opening the packaging it was noticed the tool was defected from factory, i went to return this item today with hopes of a replacement or re- emberrsment, the lady at customer service more less laughed at me and told me i was an idiot for trying to return it without a receipt, this after telling me that the tool did in-fact come with a three year warranty, she then proceded to take the serial# off the item and type it into her computer, and told me it was sold in 2009 which implys i am still in the right when trying to return this.. not sure if it's the lack of a replacement or the lack of respect i was shown as a customer who regularly frequents their store that urged me to write this complaint but in my eyes either way its a very unproffessional approach to take with a regular paying customer

Unreasonable treatment
I would like to bring your attention to a rogue manager at the Canadian Tire in Castlegar that doesn't know when to use common sense. Today, I refused to turn in my small backpack to store behind the counter while I shopped, while my vehicle was getting repaired. My pack has many valuables in it, like my passport, chequebook, medicines, and my daily planner. Too much stuff to jamb into my pockets, yet too valuable to leave unattended in my vehicle or behind the counter. My pack is the same size as many women's purses, yet they are free to shop with them. I even volunteered that my bag be searched.

Instead the General Manager of the store, Nick Ahlefeld went to the extreme measure of calling the RCMP on me! When the officer came, I explained my side of the story. The officer listened, and then left, no doubt wondering why a store manager would waste his time like that. The only people that were creating a problem were the staff in the store. I have already shared my story with many people in and outside of the store, and will continue to share it with others. I will avoid Canadian Tire in the future. What a bad, unnecessary experience. It seems that this manager has too big of an ego, and wanted to throw his weight around. An easier solution would have been to ask to check my bag when I left the store, or to escort me in my shopping. The store was totally overstaffed anyway, with very few customers..

return policy
I purchased a auto storage shelter, I then decided that it was to big for my yard so I decided to return it and was was told by customer service that she would have to get the manager .After waiting for fifteen minutes the manager came and told me that i could not return my purchse because the corner of the box that my purchase was in was damp! I TOLD HIM THAT THE INSIDE WAS RAPED IN PLASTIC AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE .He then argued with me and told me that i could not return the item ! I I then tried to argue saying the item was not damaged. He then told me to leave the store with my purchase, I then got up set and he told me to leave or he was calling the police! Is this how you treat your cusomers! Never again will I or my family and when I get the word out to my co workers and friends will never shop a canadian tire on pinebush rd again!

Poor product and customer service
I purchased a Yardworks Cordless Reel mower part 60-1535-8 at Canadian Tire. The mower did a terrible job. I used it once and had to borrow a mower from my neighbor to finish the job.

The poor quality of the product was not the last thing I had to deal with. When I decided to return it, they said they will send it for repair. I stated that I brought the mower in its original packaging, with the receipt, and there is there are no signs in the store that mower cannot be returned.

They replied that the product had to be unused, otherwise I can't return it. After talking to Yardworks and Canadian Tire, I took my lawn mower in for servicing and was told there was nothing wrong with it so it couldn't be replaced or returned.

I am very dissatisfied with my purchasing experience. Canadian Tire provided me with false information when I asked them about the return policy for the item. I wrote to the head office and waiting for their reply.

Still up to their old tricks, lying to customers about their cars
Took my SUV into Crappy Tire, Kelowna, BC for an oil change as I was on my way out of town on a trip and running late, told the woman at auto counter I needed it right away or not at all. She checked with the service bay & said it can go stright in, ready in 30 min. I signed on the dotted line & handed over my keys- 1st mistake. Came back at stated time, not only was it not ready, they hadn't started it! Told me cars with appointments came 1st, but that wasn't what they told me 30 min prior. I was furious. When time to pay, they hand me a long list of items that were in terrible shape & needed doig right away, and tried to make me sign to have them done! I told them I would see them in HELL. Days later I get an automated message on my phone from the same C.T. service center, saying this same vehicle is due for an oil change! Are they screwed, or what? I wish someone would shut these bastards down once and for all! They are an embarrasment to the word "Canada" so DON'T SUPPORT CANADIAN TIRE!!!
