This has reference to my credit card bill payment (card no. 4543633011217811) at your Peelamedu Branch (Coimbatore). Your staff in the branch have behaved like private money lenders collecting the dues using the services of thugs. Your staff behaved like thugs.
I received the credit card bill only today evening (i.e., 06.05.06) and it had been posted only on 01.05.06. I have never defaulted on payment of any bill so far. I work in a reputed college as Lecturer in Coimbatore.
Your staff had called my home at 12.30 p.m. the closing hour of banking today and asked my mother to come immediately to the branch and pay the bill amount of Rs.1, 028. When my mother (a retired Professor) reached your bank after 10 minutes the staff there refused to accept the payment.
If they can’t accept the payment a little late (10 minutes) then why did they ask my mother to come immediately? Old as she is she walked from home to your branch in mid day sun in response to your call. One of your staff (I don't know his name and I will let you know on Tuesday) had also behaved rudely and had commented – if you are unable to pay the bill then why do you use the card.
This was totally unwarranted unpalatable language. This is none of his business. If I had not paid the bill, it’s me who is going to pay the interest and not him. He had also asked the card to be returned. This also is none of his business. I have paid the annual charges in advance and have every right to use the card for another year.
I want to disassociate from your unruly branch and its staff. I am going to close the SB account with your branch. With this kind of services I do not want your card also. I will send it by Registered Post on Monday to you and you are requested to refund the annual charges that you have collected in advance from me.
You may let me know my total dues so far and I shall send it by DD to you immediately. The kind of staff you have employed at the Peelamedu branch are a shame to your organization. Teach them some etiquette and ethics if you care about your branch’s business.
I am ashamed that I had associated myself with a bank like yours. Your services have been worse than the worst. If you are not sending your explanation within 7 days I will be writing about this incident to the consumer forum and newspapers.
