unethical recruiter / scam
Below is the actual emails and responses between myself, and a shady recruiter called named Joe working for Cannon and Associates (www.cannonrecruiting.com)"... Now realize that before posting this, I gave him options to simply remove me from the list... his rude response is typical of what you can expect in dealing with an entry-level guy who doesn't understand how to market a business. What a charmer! I doubt he can really help you do anything other than take $300 to join his "inner circle of candidates"... To further prove my point, five minutes after I sent him my complaint he sent an auto response saying he and his team (?) reviewed my resume and he can help for just $325"... wow - I didn't even send him a resume in my reply and STILL he reviewed it... man - he MUST either be really good or a a good liar... which do you think? Still want to send him money?

Keith,

Either press "unsubscribe" or join the program. Were in the worst job
market in memory so whining is not going to help.

On several occasions, you have sent me what appear to be legitimate job
openings, and each time that I felt it was a position that was a potential
match for my skills, I have responded to you. But rather than getting more
information on the job, or a call to discuss my qualifications, all I ever
get is a solicitation follow-up email asking me to join your career search
program for $395. A week or two later, the process starts again, with the
same results.

I have asked you on several occasions, to drop me from your mailing
distribution list - yet you continue to send more job openings - and I no
longer have any doubt that if I do respond, you will simply send me another
"pay us $395" follow - up with no further mention of the earlier posted
position. Perhaps your email job opening teaser should also say "if you are
interested in this job, pay us $395 to go to the next step" - because that
is in essence what your modus operandi seems to indicate.

Are the jobs you post even "real" opportunities, or just your way to locate
email addresses of people looking for a job that you can add to your
list? Are you actually saying I have to "buy my way in" to interview for
the positions you are sending to me?

Shall I post this information on the web? I'm sure others who "Google" your
firm like I did would be interested in knowing about these "curious and
unusual tactics"... both employers and candidates alike. And we both know
that once something hits the web, it is there forever as it get's cross
referenced and cross-linked from person to person and site to site.

Please confirm via email within 48 hours that you will cease pestering me
from this point onward, or I will assume you have no objection to seeing
this exact email posted all over the Internet. Of course, if you would
prefer to pay me $395, you can continue to email me all you want!
