long distance charges - from Mexico
I can't believe this. I just received my Telus Phone bill. I had received 3 collect phone calls from my son and his wife while they were staying at a resort in Mexico. 2 calls were for 5 minutes and the 3rd for 6 minutes. CanopCo Incorporated provided the service (as per my Telus bill) and they charged $123.47 for those 3 calls. They charged a $16.25 collect call connect fee per phone call as well as a $4.67 per minutes charge. I had to call them back and have a 1 minutes charge to Mexico on my Telus bill for .15 cents. How can CanopCo possibly justify these absurd charges.!!! When I called them they said they are a CRTC regulated company and that the CRTC has approved their rates. I cannot see how the CRTC could possibly have endorsed these ridiculous charges. Warning to everyone who travels and stays in hotels., I guess you shouldn't bother to try to connect with your loved ones. You'll pay and pay for it when you get home.
Please everybody, be aware and get ALL the rate info before you call. Hopefully soon these guys will be out of business and run out of Canada.

telus billing
Canopco incorporated billed my Telus bill for $19.20. When I contacted canopco they also said that a cheque would be mailed in 3 to 5 weeks. It has been 5 weeks and no cheque. I talked to them again and was told that my information was not entered into there computer. So no cheque was issued. I have been told that it has been this time and to wait 3 -5 week again. i will be phoning them weekly to see if said cheque has been issued. I was aslo told they have office in Winsor ont. & Toronto ont. I checked it out and no office in Winsor ont. Hope to get cheque by new year . Thank you Don

CanopCo Incoporated had a problem with their bililng system and a number of people in Canada were billed for calls out of the Arizona Area. Telus is aware of the problem and asks that all customers call CanopCo to have the charges reversed. I called the number and waited 20 minutes on the line. I spoke with a young women who apologized for the error. She said that they cannot credit my telus bill directly so they would have to mail me a cheque.
This makes sense as it is my TELUS bill and not a bill controlled by CanopCo. Telus doesn't want to get stuck with a charge for a service that I may or may not have made. At the time of billing, they have no idea that its fraudulent. They make the assumption that I made or received the phone call. It's just logical. I can't blame Telus for this mistake. This is CanopCo's mistake and they need address it; hence the reason I had to call them directly.
Now, what burns me is that I have to pay my Telus bill and wait 4 to 6 WEEKS to get a cheque reimbursing me from CanopCo. Glad the amount isn't that much...
