Because of a fraudulent claim against me for supposedly owing Columbia House $93.04 back in March 2003, my credit has been hurt significantly. I never used Columbia House since the 1990’s and will never use them again. This is how I now that I did not order these CD’s or DVD’s. When I contacted Capital Management Ventures, they told me that I could dispute the charges, but this is a long and tedious process. This $93.04 did not hit my credit report until January 2009. I was never notified of any past due bill. Now that I am trying to buy a house, my credit has dropped 100 points and my interest rate has increase by 2 %. I do not have the time to go through all of the hassles of disputing these ridiculous charges, therefore, in order to get my credit back up to where it should be and decrease my interest rate, I have to give $93.04 to a company that I never did business with. This is fraudulent, dishonest and immoral. I did nothing wrong and have to pay $93.04. What has happened to our country where any company can screw up your credit report and get paid to do it? WTF!

My husband and I contacted LendAmerica about getting a loan for a house...the gentleman I spoke with said that my husband had a few debts and proceeded to give me the list of debts and their amounts. 'Capital Management Ventures' was on the list, we contacted them, they took my husbands social security number and name and told us that there was NO INFORMATION in their computers. So with that being said, how is it that we 'have a debt with them' but then when 'confronted' my husband is not in their computers...the funny thing is they take his information, so now they have his name as well as his social security number. Ive heard of this type of thing before, where a certain company will CLAIM to have debts with a person, and when you contact them or they contact you, they ask you your information and social security number. What an easy S-C-A-M.
