still no title sign off after 2 months of pay-off
I paid my car loan off April 2, 2010. Today is May 15, 2010. I have yet to receive my title. I need to sell my car and can't. I lost buyers twice because I can't deliver the title...

Ironically, while they are permitted to cause financial harm to consumers, fees piling up, interest rates raised and other fees extorted, and reporting credit delinquencies, or even take away cars that have not been paid on time... I have no recourse available to me immediately. I can sue, and so help me the world and God, I will!

I extended a loss of $ 4500, because I was unable to sell the car, due to the missing title sign off.

Unprofessional
I entered into a car loan with Capitol One about 3 years ago... since that time, my income has dropped to 30 percent of what it was when I bought the car. I kept up with my payments up until a few months ago, when I tried to refinance, and the refinancing was denied by other companies because Capitol One had reported my payments late, twice, when I had never been late. Since the time that the refinancing was denied, I fell behind a few months, but I called Capital One, and I was on the phone with them for about 2 hours, extending my loan, and the guy I spoke with told me that my account, from now on, would be reported paid, up-to-date, if only I would enroll my bank account and routing number for automatic bank drafts. Well, they've been drafting my payments, all right-- but they haven't reported any of my payments and have on file, ON MY CREDIT REPORT, they say that I haven't made payments, at ALL, in months. How do I stop these drafts?? Change my bank account?? It seems like now I am powerless over my credit, my money, and what I want to do with the car. I am totally over trying to make the payments, since my credit is going to *** (due to Capital One's faulty reporting) --- I am thisclose to dropping the car off to them and saying screw it. The damage has already been done. Ugh. Not to mention that, whenever I call them, I can't speak to a supervisor who can answer any questions.

This seems completely unprofessional...

Stole My Insurance Money
My car was in an accident and the insurance check was sent to me payable to myself and Capital One. I contacted their call center on March 23rd, 2010 to get the address and process to get the check signed and payment sent to the body shop. On March 30th, 2010, Capital One promised the body shop payment by Friday April 2nd, 2010. They are now not returning my calls or the body shop's calls. My car is being held hostage by the body shop and Capital One has the Insurance Money. BAD BANK

Billing and Customer Service
I have been a Capital One Auto Finance customer since 2003. I recently purchased a second vehicle in 2008. I experienced some financial distress and signed up for their Car Pay Catch Up Plan. I was told that if I signed up for the plan my account would be caught up and no negative information would be reported to the credit bureau. This was a lie. They reported a 30-day late to my credit report and when I called they would not do anything about it. I have tried to speak with someone in customer service but it has not helped. I am thinking about hiring a lawyer filing a class action lawsuit. They have the worst business practices of any company I have ever transacted business with.

Right hnd doesn't know what the left is doing
Things have been a mess since I refinanced with Capital One Auto Finance.

The first problem was when I received a phone call from them when I first sent my application. They advised me that I needed to send them a copy of my car title to complete the loan. I explained that my current loaner had the loan. The gentleman informed me that they did not have it and in MD the buyer holds the title.

So, trying to keep things on track I went to the time and expense to obtain a copy of the title.I get a friend to fax it to them upon their insistence. A week or so later I get a call questioning when I was going to send them the title that I had faxed(with a confirmation that it was received).I them mail a copy.Everything was on track. It was a little upsetting when soon as my other car loan was paid I received the title from the loaner that didn't have it.Despite the annoyance I thought everything was now fine.

Several months later out of the blue I received notification that they had never received another piece of documentation that was in my loan packet. In the letter was a threat that if my limited power of attorney document wasn't received my loan would go into default(mind you my loan is paid a few months ahead- and ALL of my paper work was signed and turned in). I wrote back to them(contacting on the phone is impossible)to explain that the document was signed and notarized and returned with my application as instructed. If they would like me to send in another they will need to send me a copy of the document. In this message I also made a complaint as it wasn't the first lost item on their behalf in the short life of the loan. The response to my complaint and request was simply to notify me that they were a third party handling this for Capital One. Then I really got angry. No wonder they can't keep anything straight.I then made my complaint to Capital One (by email once more because the only way you talk to them is if they call you). I never got a response to my complaint or my request for another doc to sign.

Two months later I received a letter to inform that my loan(still a few months ahead in payments) was in foreclosure. The letter also included the document that I requested to take care of the matter 3x and 2mos ago, and a name, phone number, and email for a direct rep handling the account. I called twice and go not call back.I emailed and got no reply. I mailed the new signed doc in but I am so disgusted with Capital One.

Now, I wonder with the type of business they run what will they do with the limited power of attorney that they have been granted?

Harrassment
So, I decided to refinance my auto loan with Capital One. I had been a card holder for 10 years and, based upon my experience, they would be a good partner. Well, I received the loan and paid the bill on time. Unfortunately, the economy made it such that I missed a payment. In addition, I decided that I wanted to pay off the loan ahead of schedule. So, I called Capitalone and agreed to a payment of $ 375.00 on the 2nd and 16th of each month. They would debit my checking account. Mind you, my monthly payment is $ 528.00. Well, then, the phone calls started and increased and the E-mail notifications of "handy ways to make your payment" started appearing. I called them and they kept telling me I was past due. I proceeded to tell them that, in the 2 month period, I paid 1875.00 when only $ 1, 056. was due. No one. Not even the SUPERVISOR understood what I was explaining to them. I had my lawyer send them a cease and decist letter. That didn't work either. I am getting approximately 10 calls a day, . 7 days a week and 2 E-mails each day. They tell me it's an Accounting problem but they cannot, as COLLECTORS, call Accounting. I am not allowed to call Accounting. So, now I am going to write to the hot shots and see if that brings any resolution. In the mean time, I have stopped the payments and will be issuing checks for the EXACT amount of the monthly payment and will send put the extra money in MY bank until such time as I can accumulate enough money to pay off the damned loan. They must hire uneducated people. It's a damn shame.

Harrassment
I have an auto loan with Captial One Auto Finance which is one of four car loans that I have, plus a new house loan. We have had the loan for about three years and have never been more then 30 days late. We have been a few days late about 3-4 times during the entire three years. Our most recent experience with this company has been terrible. At this time, we are about 7 days late and have been recieving daily calls from them regarding payment. When we speak with the representative, whose is not even American (from India), they are very rude and seem to not even care about what we have to say. They simply want to know when we are going to make the payment. Incidentally, today we recieved four phone calls from them even after we informed them that the payment had been made. They wanted to know more about the payment; when we made it, how much it was, etc.
What I find troubling about the situation and the company is that, they are recieving payments and have for three years, and yet if you are a few days late, they find it necessary to harass you about getting their money which has never been more then 30 days late, just a few days. Not one of the other three loan companies have ever called us regarding payment. I guess that Capital One has to pay for a college football game. The second problem I have is that the calls are always from India. I guess Americans aren't good enough to work for Capital One. With the economy being in the shape it is one would think that big businesses would try to keep their jobs in the country. I image though that the CEO wouldn't get a big bonus if he had to spend more money to keep jobs here in the states. Plus, sending the jobs to other countries helps establish resentment between the US and the other countires, which is also good business, right.
One thing is for sure. I will never use Capital One again to finance anything. I think that they are rude, inconsiderate, un-American, and nothing more than a money grubbing company.

Hired a Repo Company that acts like an private investigator
Capital One hired a company called Camping Companies, Inc to steal my car. This company acts like a investigation company. They went to my grandparents home to indirectly harrass me. I have contacted my attorney general because we have constitutional rights to fight these thugs. CCI Investigations is what the business card says but my research found differently. They do not have authority to operate in NM and they are violating my right to privacy. I have challenged Capital One because they charged me late fees for no reason. Also, I lost my job and could not make payments. This CCI company website says they have advanced technology to give their customers satisfaction. I say we sue the hell out of Capital One for violating our rights to due process as guaranteed by the Constitution.

poor business ethics
We have doing what ever they expect for payments. We made our payments on time. They were not documented as on time. Every time we made payment arrangements with them, they did not document so that the next collector would know what they had previoiusly done. We get several calls every day by several different people. We have never had the same account Rep. We are now fighting to keep our vehicle from getting repossessed and it is not all our fault. We were told something is better than nothing. That is not what they think. We are very frustrated with trying to do business with a company that doesn't do business. We keep hearing that there are hardship offers. But we never qualify for any of those programs. We make the payments and they continue to tell us we are behind. There is no way that we will ever use this finance company ever again. Someone needs to get Obama to pay attention to these types of finance companies and attack them like he is attacking credit card companies and auto dealers. He wants the economy to go up, using finance companies like this one will only continue to drive the economy right down into the depths of Satans world. When do we get the politicians involved?
