finance charge
I made a mistake on my sept. bill .we sent a check for $300.00 short for the oct. bill and had a finance charge of $21.74. I payed the entired bill including the finance charge.On the nov. bill i was charge $12.47 of finance charge without having a balance on my bill.
I call costomer service three times and got three different answers from India.Can someone please get in touch with me and give me the real reason for the finance charges or I will have to close my account.I have been with your company for about 25 years or more and pay off our bill every month.

Unfair treatment to staff
I’m writing on behalf of a family member who is absolutely destroyed now that capital one bank has taken over north fork bank. She is employed at a call center environment, with 60 plus calls waiting a day at minimum. With a service level of 30% when it’s supposed to be around 80% or higher. The minute one call ends, another one follows, without one second in between. Its non stop. They cancel morning breaks a majority of the time out of the week, it call volume is high. I feel It’s very essential that they receive all breaks due to the high call volume. The managers don’t allow u to have 2 seconds to your self. If there is a holiday or any given day where the calls are not as consistent there ready to send you home, using YOUR OWN voluntary unpaid time off. There’s a thing called compliance which you are required to reach a certain month to date average which is 93% or higher, and is nearly impossible due to reps having to limit each call to less than two minutes and two seconds, while assisting clients. Another issue is your penalized for using the restroom which is over there allotted time frame. You have to suffer if you are on the phone assisting a client and the phone call runs over into your lunch time which, for example is twelve noon and lets say the call ends at twelve ten, naturally your going to log off at twelve ten and return at twelve forty because your entitled to a half hour lunch break. Unfortunately at capital one bank because you went to lunch late you are considered late returning and it is deducted from your compliance. If we were to hang up on the customer it would be considered an auto fail, so they leave us no choice but to except it. The person that I’m speaking of is a very good employee, and has been working with the bank for three plus years. As we stated earlier she's been employeed with them ever since it has been North Fork Bank. She has never been written up or recieved any verbal warnings. She has kept a Great attendance and always meets the job requirements and expectations. I Come home every day and see this person mentally physically destroyed, this job is getting the best of her. It’s indescribable the amount of stress and depression this person has endured working with this company. This is not just a problem with this individual 80% of her co-workers have complained and I’ve decided to take further action in hopes to seeing some results. If neccesary, this person would be willing to give all her information to proceed further. thank you so much for your time, and i look forward to hearing from you.

Abandoned Property
I had a 3 year Cd with Green Point SAvings of New Hyde Park that expired in Feb 06'. I received a letter at the time that it would autorenew for 3 years with the new Bank at that time, North Fork. So, it would renew with a new expiration of Feb 2009. Since then this Bank was acquired by CApital One.

I received a letter from CApital One listing this account as "unclaimed property" and that it was going to go to the proprety of NY state. The letter looked very shady, with no real name, or phone number, only a PO Box address in Laurel NY, with a claim i must complete a form and get it notarized or funds would go to the State. Beware of this if you get such a letter. A few weeks later my name appered in an unclaimed listing in the paper . I checked with the bank who claimed my account is fine.. Very strange. If you get such a letter, try calling the customer service number for Capital One which is conveniently left off. 1 800 655265. Also, the NY State unclaimed number is 1800 221 9311

Credit card fraud
My name is Scott Wright. I am a victim of credit card fraud. A girl has gotten my information from my mail and gotten a Capital One Credit Card in my name with her as co-signer, so she could use the card. This all happened in 2001 from what Capital One has told me. I first found out in or around the first of 2003. I found out through my credit report. At this time I contacted Capital One and explained to them that I had never owned a Capital One card nor had I even applied for one. The check all the transactions and signatures and found that this girl had fraudulently used my name to get the card and that she had been the only person to have ever used the card. I can not remember the name of the lady that I talked to at Capital One, but she told me then that she would take my name off the account and hold the other lady responsible for the account. She told me that it was all taken care of. This was in early 2003 remember. Well I hadn't heard anything from this account again until June of 2008. Now all of a sudden it is back on my credit report, and for much more money this time I might add, and Capital One tells me that they can no longer pull up my account on there computers to see the history. They have now turned it over to a company called Northland Group Inc. This company tells me that they also can not look up the history of the account and that I must either pay them or work things out with them. I am at a total loss on what I can do now. Can anyone out there help me???

Scam and cheating!
On monday October 1st 2007 I checked my checking account online normally as I do i see a balance of five dollars and some cents it was good. And again I checked it again on Wednesday October the 3rd 2007. I was paid on Oct 2nd about $574.00 and I saw 7 overdrafts charges of $32 each totaling $ 224.00 dated on the October 1st. I immediately called a local branch in Dallas, Texas I was told they were not responsible but the branch where I opened it at in New Orleans, LA. I did call and talked to the assistant branch manager to get the charges waived but she said if it was not their error they would not refund the money. I looked over my account and saw that the most of the charged were debits why did they go through if there was no money(insufficient funds) because if that was so they should have been declined and there was a charge $ 99.00 that I didn't expect which a company refunded in 2 days. The bank claimed that didn't cause the overdrafts.

I just want these overdraft fees waived because if these not were not charged I would have been in good standing. They should have been declined if supposedly I didn't have the funds. My debit card was also canceled on October 1st and nobody seems to be able to tell me why all I was told there was an 'alert' on my card. I still waiting for a replacement I do not know if this related or not.

All I want is my $224 back I don't think this is fair I know for a fact if an account does not have sufficient funds it will automatically be declined.

I will never deal with them again
All I have to say is that they are an impossible company to deal with. I have tried over and over to have some type of normal business relationship with these monkeys to no avail. They have mislead me, some representatives are outright rude, and frankly think they are being smart by making things difficult, but they are actually slowing the economy down by tarnishing people's scores sue to their bizarre business practices. I have never seen a more inefficient organization in my life and will never deal with them again no matter what!!! EVER EVER EVER EVER AGAIN!

Terrible service!
In 8/2006 i bought a statue for $4,000. The comp.Elliot in New Jersey, delivered damaged. I refused it. They Promised me new one i never got it. I called Capital One on 9/15/2006 to get my money back. well this went back and forth for 3 months with me and Elliots inc. Elliots won. They have money and statue. Capital One wants me to pay for it. I told them no way. I don't have statue. TSYS called me from 3/2007 to 8/2007 when i sent mt lawyer after them. Capital One hired them. TSYS claimed they where legal serves for

Capital One. They said they would sue me and called me every day. At least i have every ones names times and recordings and documented calls.
