Inflation of Corporate Income
Capital One Bank is apparently not charging off obsiously uncollectable bad loans as other banks are because it wants to reduce charge offs and inflate its corporate income. OTher banks use a 180 day charge off policy, whereas Capital One transfers the loans internally and insists on collection activities at full value rather than charge the loans off as uncollectable. I wonder if the SEC is aware of this income manipulation

Lied and decieved
We are small business owners in the construction field light commercial mason company, at the end of spring things were very scary and being with capital one for 10 years i thought the right thing to do was call and let them know what is going on just in case, well doing the right thing really can ***, we have been locked out of are account for 6 months they won't give us access. On aug 10th are real scary month i made to payment over the phone for aug and sept but instead we sent them 4000.00 my husband was in the middle of doing a line of credit for are company on aug 18th we called capital one to see if we could use one of the checks they sent us for 3000.00 i was told yes there was no problem but we also confronted them that the company for the line of credit said they had reported us over 30 days for aug the supervisor said to give him 3 days to check and he would get back to us which he never did but on aug 24 my bank called and informed me they sent the check back draining are checking an savings account and in the whole thousands, on aug 25th my bank and i called them the bank manager talked with a supervisor and she said it was a mistake and to take another check it's good no problems and make it for 3500.00 on aug 31st my bank called again they sent the check back again, this time we were hit with late fee's returned fee's again and nobody would do anything they really broke us i'm 100% disabled and no money for my meds, food, they turned off my electric cause i was on a plan i had 5days to come up with 700.00. The worst was we were declined the line of credit, we did receive a letter dated sept 13th that they let the credit company's know but it take about 60 days to come off no one will touch us now I'm leaving a lot out but it has been *** i have called to try and work this out and nothen but they had the nerve to call for my oct payment. They have gotten very sloppy in there notes when you call and it says your being recorded they don't but they have no idea the letters they sent me and i am looking for an attorney and i am going to bury them they expected us to eat all the bank fee's late fee's i still can't even get a amount to what we lost but I'm going for breach of contract 2x's they gave us permission to use the checks and didn't honor, defamation, fair credit reporting act. If anyone of you have the chance to do a settlement do it and run otherwise this is what is going to happen to you we were going to do the right thing cause it was are bill and like i said what did it get us

Payment issue
I have been a customer with Capital one for three momths. I came from a credit card that was designed to help with credit. High Intrest Rate, Annual Fee and took them a long time to process payments they made.
Capital One offer was much better, so I switched. My first Payment with Capital One was due, I payed. Within 10-Days I recieved a letter statting my Checking Account with my bank was invalid.
I called Capital One to find out what was wrong. I had actually copied and pasted my account information from my online account. After getting this letter I called my bank to insure I had the right number. The Account number and routing number I gave was accurate.
After making two more additional attempts to pay with the same account number, finally a payment went through.
It is now a month later, paying my next payment and Capital One again flags me for an invalid account.
They wont let me send them a voided Check. Their Call center, per their Senior Rep cannot escalate the issue any further. There is nothing they can do. I asked them how am I supposed to make my payments? She tells me to mail a check. If I mail a check with the same account number, it wont resolve the issue.
According to this Senior Rep in the call center, she cannot escalate or advise how to fix it. Her only suggestion when I told her I would seek legal advise was I could send a letter to their general mail address.
I should have stuck with the company with the higher charges. My payments were always on time and never had an issue.

interest rate
We are behind in our capital one payments and we are financially struggling due to a recent job loss. We are trying to get capital one to lower our interest rate and they will have no part of it. They want us to make 9 payments before they will lower our interest payments and i have expressed to them that we cannot make the 9 payments at the current dollar amount. We are working with a financial consultant who said we should ask capital one to work with us but we are getting nowhere. The fact that we cannot make the minimum payments is hurting our credit rating. Is there anyway i can get them to work with us? Your help is appreciated.

CONTINUIOUS INTREST ACCOUNT CLOSED
This collection agency sent me this letter, and I called and was told this was for a credit card issued me either in 2001 closed in 2002. At this time I had to take an early retirement to care for my father who passed away in 2005, so between 2002 & 2005 of July I was unemployed. I was told this credit card was a $300. dollar limit with an outstanding rediculous credit rate. However they closed this account in 2000, why thy are now expecting a current balace due of $2, 142.31 even with a $300. limit someone has chose to make quite a profit. I understand now about fraud. This is what our President of the United States is making us aware of. So what are my options, and what was the total amount when they closed this account. I am willing to do what I can, but I am not going to be taken advantage of. Please help! Secured Card
I wanted to work on my credit a bit so I applied for the capital one secured card. I was approved and as soon as I deposited 20ousd into my secured account they would issue my secured card within 7 days. I deposited the 200usd on sept 28th. It was deposited out of my checking account to their account (ach). On the 6th of Oct. I called to see the status of my card. The representative I spoke to 1st said the money was just deposited on the 5th of Oct. so I said no it was taken out of my account on the 28th. He kept telling me it takes several days for them to get the money so I decided to just close the account. Well he talked me out of closing it and guaranteed it would be at my residence no later then monday or tuesday. Also keep in mind we had Columbus Day no mail. So I waited til Friday until I called, now the 15th of Oct. I called again and said nevermind I just want to close the account. Now I have received to letters from them saying the card is on the way or when I make a deposit it will be on its way so they have my address right? Now they say my zipcode is wrong and that is why it has not arrived. I am furious and I wanted to get my money back. They could not, would not do anything for me at all. They said they keep the money for 2 billing cycles and then will send me a check. Also they said it will negatively effect my credit for opening an account and closing it so fast. Now think about this had I known they were not getting me the card by that monday when I was told I was going to get it, I would have close the account before it became an active credit account. I am looking for answers... I know this has happened to other people by reading some of the threads online... my fault I did not do that first. Please be advised that this company has only call centers in the philipines and basically none of them can truly help you out..

Worst customer service
I have had an auto loan with this company for the last 3.5 years and its awful what mistakes they have made that have cost me hundreds.. They continuously take out more than one payment due leading me to obviously overdraft in my bank account and then when i call..Guess what ?? I cant even understand what the person on the other line is saying because there call center is not even in the U.S. They will refuse to return me my money and state to contact my bank to file a dispute so i can get my money back or that they will just post it to my principle..Please don't sign up with this company they will do what they can and promise you so much but once you sign up they don't care about you. I am going to refinance my car just so i can get rid of this bank!!

Balance transfer application
Oct 05 2010 6:42P Phoned 1.866.543.0808 Capital One to do a balance transfer and the phone agent assured me I would not get a hard hit on my credit score and within 60 seconds a decision would be known.
Well, the 60 seconds passed and he said that I would know within two weeks by letter. That's not what we agreed on, and to please WITHDRAW my application. He said it's too late, it already went through.
Irate to learn that he lied to me.
At 10:30P restless, unable to sleep phoned 1.866.543.0808 and Amy sugested I phone customer service 1.866.548.4593 talked with Lime who connected me with Steve listened to my grievance and said he'd have a conference with his colleague with a decision to withdraw my application, after a few minutes at 11:02P I get Sasha ID: UKL027 who repeats Steve's response, after a few minutes, tells me the system is updating and for me to call back tomorrow.
I phone at 11:08P and Katrina cannot transfer me "unfortunately that department is closed, to call back tomorrow".
I will phone tomorrow and pray this unpleasantness is put to a close.

Overcharging by Budget Rent a Car
I registered an Appeal on a recent charge with Capital One. The merchant then disagreed with my Appeal. Immediately, Capital One told me that as far as they were concerned, the case was closed and I was responsible for the bill. They simply told me to take it up with the Merchant. This was a Bogus Appeal process-it had no validity whatsoever. I would not use this Card again.

Fraud
I have an upside down mortgage with capital one. I have tried for 2 years to be proactive and fix this. I have written letters, spoke to attorney's, called the bank upteen times, visited branches etc. Currently I hold a mortgage that is over $500, 000. I had a forensic audit done on my appraised used in 2007 to fund my loan. This appraisal was fraudulent. Square footage was made up. All comps were fraudulent etc... Capital one's underwriting department failed to flag this prior to funding the loan. I went to re-fiance my home and uncovered all this information which I had documented per forensic audit. Capital one refuses to work with me. They refuse to connect me with anyone at the bank other than a customer service representive to fix this issue. A national bank committed FRAUD and is getting away with it. How is this possible. Please HELP!
