fraud
i currently have credit score of 707 points. and i had to open a credit card with no oversea usage charge and the capital one was the only one. so ive applied online and they said my credit was approved. and today ive received my credit card with a limit of $500. what??????/ are you freakin kidding me??????? so ive called and talked to the customer service rep and he transfered me to the specialist and what she said was i was a high risk for them and that was the best they could do. credit score above 700 is a high risk????? and if i was, then i shouldve got turned down when i filed in the application. i told her to fix this because this is not acceptable and she said there was nothing she can do so if i dont like it, close the account. so i did. now im left with heavy inquried fucked up credit report. fuckin scammers. thats all i can say

Fraudulant interest rate charges
My Interest rate with Capital One has been 8.9% fixed for several years. recently, with proper notification, they raised my rate to 17.9%. they properly notified me of this change. However, they have applied the rate to previous balances which is in violation of current and recently passed federal regulations. My State states" your promotional rate has expired" I never had a promotional rate and they are using this statement to skirt the current law.

refusal to release funds available
After having a Capital One Card for years, I paid it off completely in March, 2010.
After just several small purchases, I went to use it again to purchase tries for my van.
I called ahead and also checked the balance via the internet, there was still $1700 ++++ on the card.
I presented the card to Big O and it was declined. After several attempts I finally called Capital one. The service rep was a little on the rude side and informed me that he could not see any reason for the transaction to be declined so he put his supervisor on the phone.
The supervisor said it was because they had not posted my payment, which by the way they admitted was showing up on their screen, so I was not current according to her.
I explained that the payment was there, it was taken out of my bank account two days earlier, and both the original person and this supervisor said it was there, the payment was made on time by the way,
BUT, that it had not been posted by there staff so it wasn't really made yet. Yeah sure. They refused to let me put the tires on the card. Really embarrassing standing in Big O.
I put the tires on my debit card now jeopardizing by house payment if it goes in a day early it will beat my paycheck, if posted the right day, they will both hit the bank so it will be OK.
Big O was understanding and said I wasn't the first person to have problems with Capital One at there store. What do you tell Big O take the tires off, and I get a free alignment, no way was I going through that.

No invoices
I have not received an invoice from Capital One since I have been in Credit Solutions. Since it is a holiday I will be contacting them Tuesday or when I return from my reunion. ou have filed a suit and I would like this settled out of court. I have NEVER had a credit card that you sent a picture of with a cat, tiger or whatever it is. I have lost my husband (no life insurance) son in AACDC awaiting transfter to drug rehab, was laid off form my job on 5-28 after 17 years because of the dealth of a partner (MD office) and would like to get this settled. Do not want to go to court as I have been through more than enough in last couple years.

breech of security
I had joined a health club (melaleuca) which is another story I posted on here a while, ...ppsssttttt stay away from that one as well. Anyway I told Capital One I didn't want melaleuca chaging my account. Capital One said they couldn't stop it. They advised me to cancel the credit card and get issued a new card and number and that would prevent any further transactions from Melaeuca. Four weeks later a charge showed on my card and Capital One had authorized a chargwe from Melalauca on my account. CAPITAL ONE ALLOWED THIS, ..WHY!?
I talked to four diffrent repersentives who either had no clue or couldn't give ma solid answer. So for Capital Ones lack of incompetence I have paid the bill in full and canceled the account. I have opened a new account with another credit company.
Til' the day I die I will always warn others of Capital One's lack of customer service and finacial security to its account holders.

Lowered credit limit
I reserved a moving truck to move my deceased mother's furniture, so I made a 1000 dollar payment to Capital One to make sure there was enough money available. Then three days after I made the payment, they lowered my credit limit 1300 dollars and now I dont have a way to pay for the truck, which requires a credit card.
It also hurts my credit rating because instead of only owing 1/2 of my available balance, Now I am almost maxed out again

Illegal and Deceptive Practices
I have evidence of the illegal and deceptive acts Capital One has engaged in, from holding mail deliberatly with their carrier so that it's postmarked late (even if I sent in a payment two weeks in advance, it was always late), and not recognizing electronic payments made or posting them late as well even it they were made a week in advance of due date, all so they could charge late fees, raise interest to 29%, then charge over the limit fees and raise payment amount by 75%.
This is all illegal, so I stopped paying them and am taking them to court in a class action lawsuit since the federal court has ordered the Attorney General's not to prosecute Capital One. So it's up to us little guys to take down this giant!
Email me ( [email protected]) with your complaint, let's go after them! If I win, which I'm 99.99% sure I will, I promise to share the winning amount (up to $500, 000) with you. If you want to sue them yourself, which by the Consumer Protection Act chapter 93A you have the right to, I'll send you all the documents I have to nail them. Then not only will you owe them nothing, they will have to pay you!

Would not acknowledge fraud
I never had a Capital One credit card. When I found out about it, I sent them everything, including a police report, information about the arrest made on the case and the full confession rendered by the person responsible for the fraud. Capital One has continued to insist that I am the person responsible for the indebtedness. After one year, they have not changed their absurd position and they have ruined my credit. meanwhile, I have harassing calls on my cell and at home 3/4 times a day. There's something terribly with this. They are betting that I will cave in and pay a debt that is not mine rather than do the right thing. They are CROOKS.

Account Freezing
I went in to the Flower Mound Branch of Capital One to deposit a pair of checks, one of which was for my mentally and physically disabled father in law for whom I am Attorney In Fact (I have durable power of attorney). Despite the account being used for this purpose for almost a year with many checks including ones just like this, (Treasury Dept.), I was informed this wasn't sufficient any longer and I needed to re-open the account correctly. I have no idea how the account was opened incorrectly, but Lynn, the Assistant Branch manager said it was wrong and therefore we could not deposit the check. This was after her asking me to sit in her office for over twenty minutes waiting on something that usually takes minutes and we handle through the drive through.
I then stood up to leave, and Lynn took the check from her desk, and despite me asking her for it, since she wasn't going to do anything with it anyways, she refused and I reached over and took it from her hand, since after all it was my property and she refused to give it to me. She then very dramatically claimed I assaulted her, and called the police.
The police have already informed her and me that no assault took place, especially since it was my property in question, nor was there any bodily harm on her part. However, the branch manager took it upon herself to freeze all my accounts, including the business account for the company for which I work, which is also the account payroll and benefits are drawn against. No notification was given as required by law, and they refuse to speak to me, despite the fact they have to in order to close the accounts, which they claim they want to do.
So, in the end, nothing criminal is happening, despite Lynn's best efforts to the contrary. My accounts are frozen, including my employer's account which isn't even under my social security number, and they won't speak to me to resolve the issue or even let me close the account. This is a violation of Federal and state laws governing banking and availability of funds, as well as a breach of contract between my company, myself, and the Capital One.
