Secued Credit Card
Well, I cancelled my Capital One secured card account in frustration because after ten weeks from being "instantly" approved I still had not received my card. I had plenty of time to shop around and found that most banks will give you a secured card with no annual fee (compare to the $59 annual fee Capital One charges). Also, Capital One does not pay interest on your security deposit, whereas banks will. Most banks will automatically give your security deposit back when you qualify, C1 won't. After wasting ten weeks waiting for C1 to get me a card (everything goes through snail mail, it took a month just for them to send me a letter saying how to send my deposit, it took 2 weeks for my money order to clear...), I cancelled my account before I even got or activated my card because I read so many horror stories on the internet about people not being able to close their accounts etc, and they said it will take two months before they will even send me my deposit back. I said I wasn't surprised. I would recommend not going through Capital One for a secured credit card; go through one of your local banks!

Will not remove from Credit Report
I don't understand why Capital One keeps applying penalties and interest on an account that they charged off over 9 (nine) years ago. Isn't there some type of statue of limitations for consumers and their credit when almost ten years has passed??? Well apparently not for Capital One, because they keep updating this same, old, closed, charged-off account on my report and I need to know how to STOP them...Someone please help me.

raised Interest rates
I watch my credit frequently sometimes daily just to make sure nothing funny is going on. I received paper statements and file them carefully because I like to keep duplicate records. I do all my payments on-line. Recently, within the month I called Capital One arbitrarily to see if they could lower my interest rate.
The agent said that they would be raising the interest rate and that I had been sent a letter.
I have two accounts my son has one at the same address.
WE DID NO RECEIVE ANY NOTICE/LETTER ON ANY OF THE ACCOUNTS.
LATER after having discussions with a couple of different Cap One agents, one said the letter gave me a chance to OPT OUT OF THE INTEREST RATE CHANGE if I called by a certain date I HAD CALLED!! .
THIS IS A SCAM!! I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT RECEIVE ANY LETTER!!
NOW I HAVE ADDITIONAL CHARGES OF OVER $70.00
AND THEY CLAIM THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO ADJUST THE RATES.!

Providing inaccurate minimum due.
I pay my Capital One bill online. I am very good about paying, I don't want to mess up my credit anymore than the economy has already done. I haven't worked in over a year, so regretfully, I have been paying the minimum. I don't enter an amount, I just click on "pay minimum".
Today I got a notice in the mail stating I was a month behind. I knew I wasn't, so I called. I was told 2 months ago I paid $15 when in reality I owed $16. So a $39 fee was assessed. This happened again the next month even though I paid what I was told was the minimum!
I asked how they could charge me for paying what their website said I owed. The man had the nerve to tell me the bills mailed and the internet isn't always accurate. The only way I will get an accurate amount to pay is by called Capital One before I make my payment! How is this legal? Is there is lawsuit out there addressing this issue? I've been charged $78 because they lied to me about what I owed. I asked the man "Are you serious? Can you honestly tell me you can say I owe one amount, when in reality I owe more, and then charge me a fee?" He said "Ma'am, the only way you're going to get an accurate amount of what is owed is by called before paying your bill." If that's the case, we should all bombard Capital One's call center to question what we owe.

Harrasment
Capital One is harassing me and my family. They call myself and family members everyday of the week more than 5-10 times a day from a variety of different phone numbers. 888-748-4956, 800-955-6600, 757-483-4840. They have left me in a bind. Now my family members are questioning me about my personal business with capital one. They need to stop.

interest accruing on a 0% offer
I recently took advantage of a 0% balance transfer offer on my Capital One card. My card had no balance on it prior to the transfer, so I thought it would be a good deal. After the transfer, it started accruing interest. I emailed the customer service on their website, and I got a response confirming I have 0% on balance transfers. That didn't answer my question, so I asked again why there is interest accruing when there is 0% interest. I got the exact same response, down to the letter. They didn't even read my email. Then I called them. A guy who spoke poor English did not have the answer. He tried to explain the interest was from past purchases which had long since been paid off. It still made no sense to me, so he tried to transfer me to someone else but in the process, he disconnected me. I emailed them again asking to please explain why my balance transfer is accruing interest. I got no reply for four days. Enraged, I just paid off the balance, and the very next day I got an email back saying there is no balance on my account so they don't know what I'm talking about. It's astonishing to even think about their complete disregard and reckless faulty advertising they provide their customers.

Said they closed are acct an there would, nt be a intrest added to it if we called before dec 14 th so we called on the 9 th called to check some people capitial one has working or not have an ed they should go under if or gov helps them i will vote against an one in the gov now.Capitial one should put on a mask when they rob you.

Scam charges
I canceled my credit card but this company continued to allow companies that was making automatic charges each month to charge my account. I thought cancel meant cancel? They stopped these charges only after I complained and told them to stop all charges on this account.

Unsolicited phone calls
Capitol One calls my cell phone but the call can't be answered becase it can only be rejected, not answered. I called the number in the ID nd tell them that I don't have an account with Capital One, and please remove my number and place my number on the do not call list. They say they will, but the just change the number they are calling from and continue the annoying calls.
