Twice in the last three months I have called for a taxi to take me to the airport and had a Capital Taxi arrive. Both times, I missed the flight due to flat tires. The first time I was stuck on the side of the freeway for 45 minutes in the snow. The cab driver did not have the sense to pull the car completely off the road. Since I am a Transportation Engineer, I tried to explain the danger, to him, me, and the general public, of having the car sitting in the travel lane of a freeway. After being ignored I told him that if he didn't remove the car from the roadway I would call the police. He finally moved it over.
The second time I noticed the flat tire before I even opened the door of the cab. After calling another company to send out a cab, I called Capital to complain that their lack of maintenance was costing me hundreds of dollars and that their level of service was unacceptable. The dispatch said I was accusing them of doing this on purpose and I explained what I was accusing them of was not maintaining their vehicles. Frustrated and late I hung up on them. They had the nerve to use caller ID to call me back to try to get the last word in.
I will not get in another Capital Taxi.
