STRONG ARM TAC
i have just cancel my new account with capital one credit, being it was a new card i tried to withdraw cash advance but put the wrong numbers in, i immediately called the company to very whom i was and to clear up any reason to believe it was a fraud being committed, the customer service rep told me i would need to send in three forms of Id then send a letter from my employment in order to restore my account, , i didn't go through this to obtain the card and that should not have happen once i called and gave my date of birth, social security, address and the transition amount that should have been the end of it i am very disappointed with capital one i truly believed this would have been the start of a beautiful relationship

I have been a long time customer of capital one banking and credit cards without a problem. I started the online bill pay several months ago and was excited to have a new easy ability to pay bills. I downloaded the iphone app for capital one to pay some bills. I paid them through my phone and it did not look like it went through the next day. So, I made them again. Once I got back from vacation, I got to a computer to check and there was double payments for everything. However, it was not showing up that way on my phone app. I immediately sent an email requesting that they void the double transactions and never heard back. So, I called the next day and they told me they phone app does not work correctly. I asked them to void and the rep wanted to charge me $35 a check. What? It was your app that was not working correctly.
I cooled down for a couple of days and called back a second time. This time things seemed to be more understanding and I was told that the stop payments would be put in place at no charge to me. I wake up this morning to see my account overdrawn. I call bill pay and was told the rep from before told did not leave good notes and there was nothing about covering the stop payments. Then I went on to explain what happened. I was told it would be her word versus mine and they do not place things in writing. Then the rep told me that even thought the app was acting up (even though I did not know) I should have called before making double payments and it was my fault. I was like, " so since you app does not work and you failed to let people now, it is my fault because I did not call you?" Yes, that is correct.
Unbelievable that a company cannot recognize a systems issue and correct it for their clients. This is poor judgment of the bill pay side of the bank.

Cancell your Capital One Card and don't ever plan on getting reasonable help from the Associates of Investigative Solutions of India!!!
Following the advice of the BBB regarding a company that went bankrupt I tried to work with my Capital One Credit Card company for help with a fraud or dispute over a purchase from another company. This was started on April 1st with an eight pages fax of the complaint. My 1st response was to fill out this form and I follewed up with 24 or so pages of more information. After this they asked for a letter from another company on their letterhead explaining the fraud. After turning all this and about 24 more pages I was told a response would be sent in the mail. The 1st response was Sorry, unfortunately this is one occasion we can't help you because we have no case against this other company, try calling the company you have the dispute with. (Hello they went bankrupt as I told you on April 1st)After all the pages I sent you would think all those educated India people from INVESTIGATIVE SOLUTIONS could figure something out, but they refused my claim to the company that explained the fraud, not the company I was disputing the charge against. HELLO. Then they reopened the case and after 7 months of begging for a reply by every person from India that worked there, and going through the SUpervisors I had a magical response within the next couple of days that said again, sorry unfortunately we can't help you due to the product you ordered was not put in by the company you ordered it from.WHAT. I called back asking them how reasonable it is to have every product you order from other states be installed by them at your home. When I called they responded by phone stating I didn' have proof the product was returned. I told them I would get it and I did one week later. 6 weeks later they finally responded after I faxed them the proof 3 times, 12 pages each, that they would not be helping me with this case. So, proof and pestering from April 1st to December got me no where. Stay away from Capital one. Find someone who can help you when you need it!!!

Convert Rate TO a Promtional Rate - Sneaky
OK, this is rich.
To try to end run around the new law, Captial One just sent a letter saying that they are converting my normal rate [6%] which I have had for 10 years to a "Promtional Rate" and that in Spet 2011 it will expire and the rate will triple.
Sneaky, since this will be a conversion of a "Promotional" rate it won't be under the law that was just passed.
What a crock! "Promtional"? whatever, its the same rate I have had for years. Never been late.
And to top it off, if you don't like it you have to cancel by August of 2009????????

Have had a personal loan with capital one for 60 months, the final payment was due 1/3/09, I called their auto telephone to see what the status of my account was, it did not match my records, so I called their customer service line and wow, what a mess, first of all no one I talked to could speak english, I had had my payment automaticly deducted from my bank for 59 months, no problems, I asked why my last payment was not taken from my bank and I was told I had to mail the final payment in as a letter had been sent to me. I recieved no letter. The guy said he would take the payment over the phone so I would not have any late charges or fees. I gave him my bank information and low and behold the next day, not only the payment I had authorized over the phone but, two payments had been taken from my bank, I called again, again couldn't understand the person on phone, found out they out-source their work to India, any way they couldn't find the one payment I had given them on phone, wanted me to send all bank information. refused. Finely he found the two payments, I asked him to do a back charge on my bank, said he couldn't do it, they would mail me a check in a few weeks, I am now out almost a grand, and no idea if or when I will get my money back, I will seek an attorney and small claims court next.. What a mess. stay away from Capital One!!
