I was forced through divorce settlement to pay the care credit card bill/GE Money but the stupid customer serivce people will not reset the web site login so I can pay the bill, they force me to call and make a phone payment.

this company is a scam!
Medical emergencies bring out the best in some, the worst in others. Well, needless to say...CareCredit brings out the absolute worst!!! Simply and to the point, they take advantage of patients in a bad situation. CareCredit.com are vultures – and if you can avoid dealing with them, I advise making whatever effort is necessary to do so.
CareCredit.com has signed up medical providers – not just MDs, but dentists, therapists, and veterinarians. If you have a huge medical expense, and can't afford the entire amount, chances are your medical provider will probably mention CareCredit.com and their wonderful three- or six-month no interest plan. Well, I had an overwhelming amount in dental costs and my dentist suggested that I apply for care credit for part of the amount. When I called them, they were EXTREMELY pleasant! I was approved during that very phone call. I have excellent credit...but needless to say, that was NEVER even checked.

The concept sounds very much like an act of mercy, guaranteeing that people who are in desperate need of funds to pay for their medical procedures will get the help they need.

CareCredit.com is actually GE Capital (the same people who made your ‘fridge lend out lots and lots of money). They’re not in it for altruism – they’re in it to make money – and make money they do. HOW? BY LYING TO YOU!!!
This is not a loan, it’s a credit card – in a few days, a MasterCard appears in your mailbox. In theory, you can use this card to charge more medical expenses. What’s different about this card is that, unlike all those offers you’re getting in the mail every day, the interest is GETTING ADDED EVERY SINGLE DAY at the maximum amount allowable under the usury threshold of 24% APY.

That vaunted “interest-free” period is only “interest-free” if you pay off the entire bill within the no-interest period. Pay off all but A FEW BUCKS and you owe interest on the entire bill.
MY STORY!
In my case, CareCredit.com never bothered to send me any form of information about the account AT ALL. Sure, they got the card to me, but nothing else. They’re never sent me any information about the payment plans, and more to the point, they’ve never sent me a BILL!
I had less than $3, 000 left to pay on the card prior to the "promotional period" ending. My dentist called up to add $9, 000 to the card and asked if he did so, would they extend the promotional "interest free" rate for an additional 12 months. THEY GLADLY AGREED! Well, one day, I go online and notice that they are charging me interest. I called and not only was the customer service agent extremely rude, he proceeds to insult my intelligence insulted by stating that I should learn to read. (I'm sorry, last I checked I have my PHD! I am quite certain I KNOW HOW TO READ! This comment coming from a customer service rep who probably gets paid minimum wage at best.) Apparently, I was being charged "deferred interest" because, according to them, I never paid the prior balance off. First of all, I sent them a payment of $3, 000 (which was OVER the amount I owed) and they applied that amount to the NEW BALANCE! WHY???? I HAVE NO IDEA! In addition, WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO READ??? NOTHING WAS EVER SENT TO ME BUT REGULAR STATEMENTS!!! So in essence, I KILLED MYSELF PAYING MORE THAN THE AMOUNT DUE EVERY MONTH...Just to get slammed anyway. THEY PROMISED MY DENTIST THAT THEY WOULD EXTEND THE PROMOTIONAL PERIOD IF HE ADDED MORE MONEY TO MY EXISTING ACCOUNT! Due to this, I am getting penalized for almost $3, 000 in accrued interest. This is just ridiculous!

My Advice ...Avoid these people like the plague! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!! Not to mention that their customer service representatives are incompetent (if not merely stupid) and worse yet, LIARS!!!

I had less than $3, 000 left to pay on the card, which I would have HAPPILY paid the entire amount off to avoid the "ACCRUED INTEREST" if I had been advised. My dentist called up to add $9, 000 to the card and asked if he did so, would they extend the promotional "interest free" rate for an additional 12 months. THEY GLADLY AGREED! Well, one day, I go online and notice that they are charging me interest. I am quite certain I KNOW HOW TO READ! This comment coming from a customer service rep who probably gets paid minimum wage at best. I learned that I was now being charged over $3, 000 in ACCRUED INTEREST! This after being told they were extending the promotional period due to the additional balance. IS THIS EVEN LEGAL?!?!?!?!?!?!

Harrasment
I had to use Care Credit to get some dental work done. Besides Care Credir charger me such high intersest rates, they have been harrasment me every month about my payment. I get my statement in every month like everyone else. My statment has my montly payment due. I will pay that, if they get it a couple days late, they will call all day long everyday until I contact someome, and when I do I can not understand what they are saying, because I get someone that can not speck English good. I have got angry with these people and do not like to put my self in this position. I thought this card would be helpfuf to me, but now I have found this has been a mess. I would not recommed this card to anyone. The people are very rude and can not understand them. We as American should deal with American people and the credit card companies should have compasion for the people that choose them as there customer.
Thank you listing.

FEES
I went to pay my bill and was thinking of just paying it off. When I got the statement I noticed I was being charged an account security fee which was the amount of the interest I also pay. I never was told about these fees. What do I need to do to get all these eronious charges revered.

HORRIBLE INTEREST RATES
BE WARNED: DO NOT GET A CARE CREDIT CARD!!! I signed up for a No interest for 18 months care credit card and when the 18 months were up I had about 1, 000 left on my card and they hit me with a interest payment of over $520 with my limit being only 15000. Of course this added on an over the limit fee and now my interest rate is over 20% monthly. So now I'm trying to pay down the outrageous interest fee and late payment AND my monthly fee. The crazy part is they did not send me ANY notification about the interest payment!!! I closed my account which hurt my credit and reported them to the BBB. Its crazy!!! DO NOT GET THE CARD!!!

rediculous interest fee
For damn near over a year now I've been paying at least if not a bit more than the minimum payment to Care Credit. Only to find on my Transaction Summary to be charged 18.00 interest on month, 30. the next, then I check it again a couple days after a huge payment and it tells me there's a 202.23 interest charge on purchases. This effin crap. Poor people sign up for this freakin' card in serious tooth pain or I'll just have to go home, miss work, and take some aleve. I'm over it! horrible customer service as well. very unsympathetic and *BS. How am I supposed to pay off 700. dollars when you throw late fees and convenience fees and stupid interest on purchases after not even a year. I'll support bringing this place down.

Bad Company
So I just finished paying off my account balance with Care Credit. We needed a little financial help when our dog got the parvo virus. Banfield Pet Hospitals offer Care Credit to customers who have huge bills with them. I only asked for $500 and received that amount through Care Credit. The total bill was around $2, 000, which we paid all but the $500 from Care Credit - this was in October 2010.

First statement came and I paid off half of the balance. Second month $10 more than the minimum and so on until today when I paid off the entire amount.

I checked my credit report and CARE CREDIT added a negative to my report. I called them back and was told that it is 'standard operating procedures' when there is an open balance on an account. Not a LATE balance.. an OPEN balance. So, my credit dropped 200 points because of this a-hole company. It is the ONLY thing on my credit report. I asked them to remove the negative status on my credit report since I paid off the balance and was told they could not do that. So now I have this negative hit on my report for SEVEN TO TEN YEARS. I am starting a dispute with Equifax, but I don't have high hopes this is going to be fixed after spending over an hour on the phone with them.

Needless to say, I'm pretty upset and angry.

Never, EVER use this company. I was never delinquent on a payment and I always paid more than the minimum and they screwed me. It's not worth it. I feel taken advantage of because our dog was dying and it was like "Do this or your dog is as good as gone" type of situation.

Pawn a wedding ring next time!

Billing Procedures
I opened my account last year simply to take advantage of the interest free period of 24 months. I have made payments each month of at least 2 times the minimum payment for the last year. All of a sudden I start getting calls saying I have been late with numerous payments and getting late and interest charges added to my account. I said that this can't be, because I make my payments way ahead of the scheduled due date. I was informed that because I paid TO FAR AHEAD, they credited some of my payments to the previous billing cycle even though I had already paid that months payment. I called to complain and after speaking with several very rude people including someone in India who had no idea what the english was, I am no further along in my battle with them.

not posting paymetns
I have had several problems with Care Credit finance. I make the payment online. You do not get a conformation number or email stating they received payment. Two times now my payment was never posted and I was charged a late fee. They app don't post as it is never taken from my account. they are NO help. It is very frustrating. My husband and myself are on the account. They only want to speak with my husband and his work hours dont mix with care credits. There is also no email Please avoid this company.
