This is, by far the worst company I have ever dealt with! I set up a payment plan to pay them $71.00 dollars per
month, on a minimum payment plan of $18.00 dollars per month, to supposedly avoid paying interest. I set up
the plan for an electronic debit with my bank. Admittedly, I made a mistake, and set the payment date for the
tenth of each month, when the due date was the third. I made two payments in March($142.00), and then $71.00
for the next four months. I assumed that everything was fine, and that I was doing everything just as I was told to
do.
In July(2010), I was still receiving a bill from my doctor, as if the money from CareCredit had never been paid.
I called my doctor and was informed that the money had been paid to the wrong department. I looked at my
statement on the internet, and noticed that there was a late charge for July! This was the first late charge that was on
my statement, after five months of making these payments! No one bothered to inform me that these late charges
would occur, through the internet(e-mail) or by phone. They waited five months to charge me a late charge and
then claim that I owed them additional late charges for the previous months! I got on the phone with CareCredit,
and they agreed to waive one late fee as a COURTESY!
My doctor decided to refund the $850.00 to CareCredit, so that I would pay him direct. I paid CareCredit $497.00,
and they only agreed to refund me$346.44! These late charges, plus interest, plus some kind of internet fee!
I thought the internet was free! The whole reason that I was paying $71.00, was to avoid interest, but they still
found a way to rip me off! This company is a collection of crooks, and I told the account manager that she should be
ashamed to be working for a bunch of crooks, to which she replied that she was not ashamed!
You would think that if there was one decent person working for this company that they would have called me to
inform me that these late charges would be applied, but no one did, and the only way I knew that this was happening, was the late charge for July, on my e-statement, FIVE MONTHS after I was making the payments!
There were no other late charges listed on my statement, even now!
In short, these people are a bunch of criminals and should be put out of business at least!
