I wanted to tell you about my experience on your ship the Carnival Dream that set sail on February 20, 2010. I previously sailed on the Carnival Inspiration and was looking forward to a relaxing fun filled week. Oh boy was I wrong. We were assigned to stateroom 7229 on the Empress deck which is just above the Encore Theater. Imagine our surprise to be woken up to the sound of music blaring and people hooting and hollering until after midnight every single night. It was so loud that items on our desk and bed were vibrating from the bass.
We went to Customer Service on Sunday and asked to be moved up more floors on the boat to get a way from the loud music and were told that there were no rooms available but that they would either fly us back home or give us ear plugs and comp our room. We agreed to the ear plugs and room compensation since we were traveling with my parents in celebration of my fathers retirement. We received a call on Monday night stating they did have another room but it was on the Second Floor (which was a downgrade for us) when we spoke to Customer Service about the room assignment another guest told us we didn't want the second floor either because all night long you hear the propellers so we declined the room. Since we declined the second floor stateroom we were only compensated $69.30. At the end of the cruise we were talking to the people around us about the noise and the people in room 7237 told us that they were offered a compensation of 10% for their total bill due to the inconvenience. I asked them if they were offered another room and they stated no.
This cruise in my opinion was sub par. From the room which was extremely disappointing due to the noise level to the food served (there constantly were so many people in line that your food was cold by the time you received it) and glass items falling from the ceiling that nearly hit one of our traveling companions. They should not be renting out any of the rooms adjacent to our stateroom due to the noise level. .
The Carnival Dream is not worth the $600 per person charge due to the excessive noise and cold food.
