I ordered a carport to use as a picnic shelter 6/25/10 knowing I was having a large party on 7/10/10. I really did not think it would be there by then but that was no problem. It would be there for future gatherings. I was shocked and excited when Carolina Carports called one week later and said it would be installed 7/6/10. I had to get excavators in to dig a level spot in my yard in a hurry but it was worth the hassle to get everything done in time for my party. On 7/5/10 Carolina Carports called and informed me that their truck had been involved in an accident and all the material was damaged and they would have to reschedule for 7/9/10. I felt so bad and asked if anyone was injured and was told they didn't have any information except the material was damaged. OK so 7/9 would be cutting it close but we would deal with it. Afterall, there was an accident and accidents happen. On 7/8/10, I received a call from C.C. telling me that their truck broke down in West Virginia [I live in Pennsylvania] and delivery would be rescheduled for 7/13. Now I'm upset, I've got a great big muddy hole in my yard and 200 people coming in 2 days. I ask if they can't get another truck or something and I'm told all the material was damaged and it all has to go back to North Carolina. How does material get damaged when a truck breaks down? Does this sound fishy? Had they told me in the first place that it wouldn't be there until later in July, that would have been fine. I wouldn't have had a hole dug in my yard. How much you want to bet it won't be here on the 13th either? I would never recomend this company to anyone. I am very disappointed. I really think they told me it would be here so fast so I didn't cancel my order. WHAT A HASSLE!!!
P.S. I also had to take off 2 days work to be here when it was supposed to be delivered. I have the kind of job that requires me to schedule days off ahead of time.
