I hired Sears Carpet and Upholstery Care service to clean my carpets. The service man said they would be dry in a few hours. The Sears website say within 13 hours they would be dry. Unfortunately it took more than 48 hours with my air conditioning fan and several floor fans going the entire time to dry the carpet. My main concern is that the underlying original oak hard wood floors may have been damaged. After several calls to complain and then a call to the corporate office, I was then sent back to the same booking secretary who offered no satisfactory attempt to help me. All I want is for a carpet expert to come out, lift a small area of the carpet and inspect to be sure the water didn't damage my hardwoood boards underneath. They refuse to offer that, or give me a written assurance that no harm was done as a gurantee against future discovery. They have not offered to refund my money or make any attempt other than sending someone to come out an inspect the carpet. At that point, it will be 6 days after the fact. There is nothing to see. I have no idea what the purpose of this visit will acomplish. Sears does not stand behind its service, it does not provide any opportunity to speak to any supervisor, and corporate does nothing to make me feel any reassurance. Their satisfaction gurantee is worthless, useless and without any meaning what so ever . On top of all that, the service man dumped the dirty water and all the debris, carpet fibers into the street infront of the house and left a big mess. DO NOT USE SEARS CARPET and UPHOLSTERY CARE .
