No customer service
I felt lucky today. went into CARTOYS to get an alarm for my car. walked into the store, stated i wanted a car alarm w/ remote key-less entry. it was 12.30pm. "I have to be somewhere soon, can you get it done by 2.15pm?" "sure not a problem." bought the alarm system, and handed over my key. 12.50pm, "are you sure you can get it done by 2.15?" sure, the installer got a buddy to help him out. two is better than one. right? while waiting i was browsing all the gadgets they had on display. 1.40pm, "can you check the status of my car?" "around another 20 minutes or so." Okay, thank you. 2.00pm, 20 minutes later. can you check the status of my car? it'll be another 10 minutes or so, the installer is mounting the siren, he should be finishing up soon. wow. you guys are good. just in time for me to make my appointment. 2.10pm, can you check the status of my car? it'll be another 10-20 minutes, he's finishing up now. okay, i might be able to make my appointment. getting nervous and edgy at this point, after all the appointment location is ony a few minutes drive from cartoys. 2.30pm, 20 minutes later. missed my appointment by this time. can you check on the status of my car? it'll be another 10 minutes. I was not a happy customer at this point. 2.40pm, can you check the status of my car? it'll be another 10-20 minutes. "you guys said that almost an hour ago". "it's a car alarm" stated the clerk, obviously annoyed. i wasn't sure what he was implying. Hey who cares, i'm just a nobody. just another customer that spent 370$ on a car alarm w/ remote entry. 2.45pm, finally got my car. Lost a job. But i felt lucky, do you know why? i felt lucky because i was not the other guy, who was waiting on having autostart for his car install, which ws supposed to take 30 minutes said the clerk. He was there since 10am, and it wasn't getting done until 3pm, which was what i heard the one of the clerk told the guy anyway. Whether or not it gpt done by 3pm i'm not sure. I also felt lucky because i learned an important lesson. a place that's more expensive than other places doesn't necessarily have better service. which in retrospect doesn't make sense does it? when you charge more for something, shouldn't you at least have better service or something? but hey, what do i know. i'm just a trusting college student placing my trust in the words of a CARTOYS EMPLOYEE.

why am i telling you this you may ask? i think honesty is a good policy. if you can't get it done within a time frame, let the customers know..if you're 100% sure that you can get it done then it's not a issue. but apparently it's an issue. so let's just say that i will not be walking into a CARTOYS store anytime in the near future.
