Faulty controller failed repeatedly, refused coverage under Casablanca "Lifetime" warranty.
We paid nearly a thousand dollars for our Casablanca Mission fan model 97054T (may also sell under similar model nos. "970xxx"). We mistakenly believed this was a top-of-the line product and a good company. We invested the extra money intending to make it part of our house - for life. The fan's computer based controller - without which this fan motor/light will not run at all - has failed for the second time, with the fan no longer responding to the controls, it is unusable. Casablanca claimed their "lifetime warranty" was meant for the motor only and not the controller. This made absolutely NO sense at all, as the controller is physically part and parcel of the motor in this model, and the two are inseparable to operate the fan. Casablanca demanded upwards of $100 to replace the flaky controller - we declined. For this money, a completely new, reliable ceiling fan can be bought. Casablanca has avoided honoring their warranty, and have employed an obvious and transparent word trick to do so. Suggest other prospective fan shoppers avoid this fan line at all costs, and avoid the Casablanca warranty (i.e. buy another brand) if you can.
