I started getting phone calls from a man with a thick indian accent, James Williams. He was calling from (646) 378-2499. Claiming to have pertinent legal information for me. When I tried to call back it was always busy. Then today (4/6/11) I got a call from another man with a thick indian accent, Officer Patrick Green, at (646) 499-6905, claiming to be a part of the Financial Law Dept. Appearantly Cash Advance Mutual is filing a lawsuit against me for Violating Federal Banking Laws, Check Fraud, and Theft by Deceipt. I found this to be interesting since I have never heard of this company. When I told him I was reporting this to the FBI Cyber Crimes Division, he got real quiet. That's when I hung up, and went to my local police dept, to file a report. I was told to contact the credit bureaus and notify them that someone is trying to attain my information. Since I told the one guy I was reporting it, I haven't gotten a phone call back from either one as of yet. My local PD said, "let them try to sue you for what you haven't done. Even if this was legit, they can't sue you for being 1 day late." If you get any information on this scam PLEASE forward it to the FBI Cyber Crimes Division.
