No reply after 2 weeks
I recently opened a Cell C contract via the Cell C call center. As we went through the procedure I clearly asked, a few times actually, if I wanted to cancel the account is there any costs involved. According to the person on the other side. I had a a few days after receiving the package to return it, and if I don't open any of the packaging there is NO cancellation costs involved.
After doing some research I found much better deals then there so called 'unique special' they were offering. I then contacted the call center to ask how to go about canceling the contract. He then gave the phone to his manager who told me there there will be a R250 delivery charge and a R1000 contract cancellation charge. I told her that I DIDN'T open the package and that the person who I spoke to previously told me that there will be no charge involved. She told me she will listen to the phone call and get back to me.
I've been ignored ever since. I tried to make contact with them several times after but no reply, I told them I'm going to get some legal advise on this matter but still nothing.
Its been about 2 weeks now and still no reply.

Funds taken unwillingly from account
About a month ago i had a cell c representative call me and practically force me to taking a contract and then 30mins later i changed my mind on the same day and apparently was then cancelled. A week later the phone gets delivered i then send the courier back saying i cancelled the contract and then a couple of days later notice the funds being deducted from my account. A month has passed and still no refund and i have been speaking to so many people at the call centre and all which is said is 7 to 14 working days and it has been a month...Finally today i have been told from today it will be 7 to 14 days...oh will just have to see as the people at that call centre dont seem to know what they are doing ...

They just will not stop calling
I see there are a lot of people (like me) that want cell-c to stop their cold calling. Someone in a previous complaint, complained about the fact that cell-c phones her continuously to offer her contracts and services. I quote the representative from Cell-C that replied to her complaint: 'We would like to assure you that this is not the norm at Cell C, nor is it the level of service that we aspire to provide. ' This is nonsense! They are phoning (pestering) all of us! Where do you get our details from? You phone me on my cell, you phone my husband on his cell, you phone my colleagues at work, you try and phone people who have left our company years ago. All the time!!

They are charging R50 a month for a phone we do not have or the number either
About 2 years ago we ported our cell numbers. CellC continued billing us even though there was no proof of a renewal. We were out of the country for 2 years. In July 2008 we were informed in writing that they were wrong and the account would be credited. And it was. We are now received accounts again and they have handed it over saying they reversed the credit. How can you admit to your mistake credit the account and then reveverse it again after a few monthsyears? We have asked the legal department to get back to us with what they are doing about the account. We are still waiting. They are also charging R50 a month for a phone we do not have or the number either. This was supposed to be cancelled too.

Sort this out and leave me in peace
I complained about Cell C calling me with their 'promotions'. My complaint was dealt with (reference number 3514895) and I was promised that I was removed from their spamming list. I also followed the link [Hidden Web Address] suggested by CellC to remove my name from their spamming list. Today I received 3 calls from CellC direct 'with regards to a promotion'. The lady on the other side is sitting in a very noisy call centre and thus find it necessary to scream 'HELLO!! HELLO!!' in my ears. I, on the other hand, am sitting in an open plan office and attract the attention of my co-workers when I have to scream 'YES YES' back at her and explain to her why I am not interested in a CellC contract and I am the one made to look like an ***** when I must assert myself when your cold callers refuse to accept that I dont want your contract.
And please, don't let one of your PR people call me repetitively to sort this out. Just sort this out and leave me in peace. You are becoming a nuisance while I am at work.

This is extremely damaging to your brand, unprofessional and disruptive
I am so incredibly sick and tired of Cell C disrupting my day telling me that I have been 'preselected' for a great cellphone deal!
I have asked the telesales people to remove me from the database at least 4 times now, it has never been done. I have gone as far as emailing cell c at the email address on the website stating that i would like to be removed from any further communications with cell c, it has not been done!
I'm tired of being rude to your sales people, because after all, they are simply doing there job.
I don't recall ever ticking a box, or failing to tick a box that has allowed you access to my current cellphone number, but if that is the case, i clearly wasn't informed.
This is extremely damaging to your brand, unprofessional and disruptive!

Bad service and no response from supplier
I logged a complaint on 02july and again on 09july and up to today, no help, assistance or even a phone call update on my complaint. Does it really take this long to get a call recording, my word is clearly not good enough, the system log is clearly not good enough but the call cannot be traced, so i just have to continue to pay for a contract that i dont have. I cant cancel our three contracts without paying a fee, but i am not gonna renew our contracts when they reach their 24mths. Mine is up for renewal real soon.

Barred Cell phone
For the Past 3 years i have been paying my cell phone account R100.00 per month, in this last year my phone has been barred 23 times - The reason is they are using a new system and my payment must now be made on the 20th of every month at the bank -
First of all i have no time to go to the bank
Second of all, why the change, i have been making payments for the last 3 years through an EFT
I got an email from the Tell the trevor service centre - saying that it has now changed to the 25th of every month and still to datye my phone has not been switch on -
all my airtime has been forfeited
I am really not impressed at all

Impossible to cancel their service
Four months ago i cancelled my Cell C contract due to horrible service recieved. This was done telephonically by a lady at the call center. (funny how you alwalys tend to not write down peoples names due to trust) I haven't recieved a statement in over two months now. The lady at the time told me that it would take one month before the cancelation would take affect. But to my disgust i noticed that once again two Cell C payments were deducted from my bank account this morning. After calming down i decided to contact the call center. I had to type in a fake cell c number to get through to a call center agent because you can't talk to anyone unless you type in your 10 digit number and due to me not using this anymore i don't know what the number is. I spoke to a franscios and he notified me that the contract had not been cancelled and that a cancelation letter was needed. He aslo told me that i should read the fine print. Why the lies in the beginning when i cancelled telephonically? Please get someone to contact me to have this cancelled A.S.A.P!!!

I have been on a contract with Cell C for several years and have never had a problem until recently when my phone was stolen and I have been trying to get Cell C to assist!! Not only have I been met with rude, unsympathetic call centre hosts, I have not had any feedback from them or any assistance to try and block the phone & help me activate my sim swop! I have emailed, faxed, and called more than 10 times in the past 48 hours, however to no avail! I have tried speaking to a manager, who was 'not available'. I cannot and will not deal with Cell C anymore and will definately NOT have ANY of my friends or family members take out a contract with them. When a phone is stolen, people expect fast and efficient service to try and get everything sorted. Apparently that is really not the case with them. I also now have to pay for a phone which was stolen for the next 24 months, because I only had it upgraded 3 weeks ago!!! (My new phone is apparently not even showing on their system yet), as I tried to blacklist the phone, the lady told me, she doesn't 'see' me having such a phone!?!?!?! Hellooooooo?? Is it my fault you are slow in capturing data?!?
