Cell C Reviews

iRRATE CUSTOMER April 16, 2009
No response , No feedback
Since November last year I have been attempting to resolve my contract with Cell C telephonically, for the Month i tried another website to get a response, and true to themselves since April 02-2009 Cell C has not made any attempt in resolving this matter with me.

I am now in arrears, and on a response from the website, I have been handed over to attorneys, but to date no Cell C personell has contacted me.

It makes me now see the reason why they made the news last year for going BANKRUPt.
I dont think that I should pay any of the monies outstanding, which has now accumalated some legal fees.
Cell C needs to get a system that works, and teach all personnel to follow through and give customers feedback on the progresss/status of accounts, queries.

I am in the process of getting Legal Help, due to my strong convictions that should I not have been the one doing the queries with Cell C, they would not even have come so far to hand my account over to the Attorneys.

depit orders and cutting lines
I took out a contract at the Cell C company and sighned for a depit order to go off every month to make my life a bit easier. Getting to a bank during the day is a nightmare for me, but instead of it being better it now has become a nusiance. Cell C cut my cellphone line in February after I missed a payment due to the fact that they took off the depit order before the date I sighned for and my salary was not in yet. End of March they took both the payment of February and March with the depit order out of my accout, but still 2 days later my line was not swithed back on. I phoned them, told them what happened and the guy I spoke to then said he see the payment was done, so my line will be on within 15min. after speaking to him. Now, 20 days later they again switch off my phone without warning and when I phoned them after trying for 3 hours to get through to their client service, the guy tell me there is no sighn of payment and that is why they cut my line. They can not switch my line on before I bring a bank statement as prove of statement. They just do not care what I had to say. I phoned the bank and they confirmed that the payment was done, but now I still have to rush to the bank tomorrow to get the stupid statement and take it to cell c. I drive with my 7month old baby girl on the Johannesburg roads for 2 hour trips daily. How irresponsible is it for me to not have a phone I can phone from in case of emergency. What realy infuriates me is that when I show the stupid statement, all they will say is sorry, switch my line back on and I would just have to be okay with it to just have been a mistake. What garanty do I have it will not keep on happening. This is already the second time. How many times must I still go through the inconvenience of it all.

No Service from Customer Care
In July 2007 I came from South Africa to work in South Korea. The first thing I found was that I could not send or receive SMSs from any network in South Africa.

I contacted them all – Vodacom was concerned, investigated the matter and repaired it after about 3 months. MTN never bothered to reply. Cell C told me that they could not help as the contract was held by AutoPage. I contacted AutoPage who said that they could not help as CellC were the service provider.

And so it went back and forth between CellC and AutoPage. At least I could send SMSs to CellC numbers so I gave up on trying to get CellC to fix the outgoing SMS problem.

Now something has changed and I can not even send to CellC subscribers. Vodacom subscribers can receive and send SMS – MTN don’t reply.

I have again mailed CellC, explaining that I am in South Korea and this problem has arisen. As expected, I got a curt reply – They cannot assist me as my sons contracts are held by AutoPage. I can call AutoPage on certain numbers.

I replied, pointing out that I am in South Korea, could they please give me an e-mail address for AutoPage – no reply. I wrote again. No reply.

When my sons contracts expire I will renew with Vodacom – they are more expensive but a FAR better service. CellC Customer (don’t)Care can go fly a kite – they are useless.

Handset and contract
I am rather upset with the service from CellC. On the 26th February 2009, I took out a control chat contract. However 6th day into the contract I had a problem with the handset a Samsung D9001 which was handed into the store (Mall @ Reds) for repairs or swopping of handset as it was within the 7day guarantee period. To date no correspondence has been received. On Saturday (11.04.09) I go into the store to find out the status of my handset, and told sorry it’s not repaired or replaced. Furthermore I was not contacted at all to advise me what is going on. I find this rather upsetting if this is the manner in which your company conducts business. Whatever happened to customer care?

Do not deduct monthly payment and treats it as a bad payer!
I took out a contract in 2006. Deductions was made via debit order.
Since November last year, no debits were deducted. I also did not receive any mail from Cell C, which means NO BILL!! I went to a Cell C Shop in Garden Route Mall, but my account could not be entered becauce I DID NOT PAY!!! I gave Cell C the authorization to deduct money out of my account, if they don't, I cannot be treated like a BAD PAYER, as I currently am!!!
AND, when I urgently needed to make a small Loan from the Bank, I couldn't because MY CELL C ACCOUNT WAS NOT PAID!!!

lied about the services they provide
I TOOK UP TWO PHONES ON CONTRACT WITH THE INTENTIONS THAT I WOULD BE GETTING ALL THE SERVICES REQUIRED i took up a 3g phone they didn’t bother telling me that Cell C doesn’t have video calling services it has Google but I cant even access it because I’ve been tolled that my phone is a new model and cell c dose not yet have internet settings for it, I have been tolled that I would be able to recharge my account even though I receive a 100 free call minutes which of course was blatant lie I have tried recharging several times on both phones but with no success Cell c offers poor services even when you need to talk to a consultant you need to make sure you have all the time in the world because it takes a very long to be assisted I want out of this contract but their telling me that I would pay a penalty fee and pay for the rest of the months ahead why should I when they are the one’s who didn’t keep their end of the bargain they made fake promise and now I have to pay for their bad services… I am gowning to the media with this because I have tried to get some assistance from Cell c but no one gives a DAM! I don’t want to use their services any more I am disappointed and regret my disunion on taking a contract with them I WANT OUT THEY LIED WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT?

Wrong Delivery/ Cellphone
On 19th February 2009 my contract phone expired and was legible for an upgrade, Siyabonga Mkhize from Cee C called me and explained to me that I have to upgrade and I will receive a new phone, he then e-mailed me two kinds of cell phones to have a look and choose which one would I go for. It was a Nokia 3110 classic and a Samsung j750. I choose Nokia 3110 classic but to my surprise they delivered a Nikia 5000 which I dont want.

I e-mailed Siyabonga and told him that I dont want what they send cause that's not what we agreed about. He promised to call me back till now he is even not responding to my e-mails. Please help me get what I bargained for.

Contract Cancellation
I have been trying to cancel my contract with Cell C now for more than two, almost three years. I have faxed cancellation letters to them which they deny. I phoned Cell C once more on the 21October 2006 and spoke to a lady with the name Lindiwe. Then I spoke to Busisiwe. They gave me a Ref no. The no was ref:1522304. I called again on the 18th of July 2007. I phoned again on the 13th of February 2008. I spoke to Zandile. She gave the phone to the supervisor. Her name was Nikiwe. All of them telling me that I have not submitted a cancellation letter or fax.
Today is 16 February 2009 and I am still paying a monthly subscription for a phone that I have not been using for a very very long time. I am talking about much more than R 4000.00
This is absolutely ridicilous. I have faxed and e-mailed them today for the very very last time !
Cell C...Never again !!!
My next step now will be to hand them over. I should have done this a long time ago.
