never got paid
I received a quote of $33 to sell my cell phone and mailed it to the website. On 10/20/10 I got an email saying my phone arrived with transaction #394958 and would be sent a check in the mail. I did not recieve a check and after months 2/1/11 wrote back to inquire about my payment. I was sent an email saying my information would be sent to the accounting office and I would hear back in 2 days. I heard nothing back from the company and wrote antoher email on 5/25/11 asking for an update and expressing that I thought this company was a scam. They did not reply. I have since filed a complaint with the better business bureau

Stolen Property
I have waited since 01/28 for the check. They responded last month that they had a problem in their system and check would be sent. That was a month ago and nothing. When I followed up with them. They once again do not answer. I want my phone or check and do not allow people or companies to steal from me. I am talking it further if I don't get my check. It is the principal. It will cost them more money to hire lawyers then if they actual paid for the phones they steal.

Tricksters!
When someone left a bag of old BlackBerrys (seriously) on the shelf near my desk at work, hoping that someone (anyone but her) would recycle them, I took up the challenge, just because I couldn't stand the mess hanging around for weeks on end. I googled for cellphone recycling and found cellforcash.com, which I later saw recommended on a couple of personal finance blogs as well, as a place to make some money fast. I sent the phones in, and while they claimed that two of them were did not pass "inspection, " I ended up getting an offer for $65 for three of them. I accepted the offer. Weeks later I began to wonder when I would get my money. I clicked around the transaction page for a while and finally found the FAQ. The FAQ stated that payment would be issued in 45 days. I realized then that they had to be stalling (payment could/should be much faster than that), but whatever. So I waited. After while I checked back, still no payment. I got out my calendar to count the days; oh, 54 days have passed. I looked around the FAQ again for an explanation, and finally clicked on the "Contact Customer Service" link. I clicked on "Payment Status" in the dropdown menu of choices and entered my transaction ID and email. The system gave me a message of "Payment Status Thank you for bringing this transaction to our attention. Your transaction has been forwarded to our accounting team for expedited processing. An email notification will be sent to you when the payment has been issued. " WAIT A MINUTE?! I have to "bring the transaction to our attention." REALLY?! Shouldn't you know you owe me money, since that was the deal? This company clearly hopes that most people will plum forget that they did this and never come looking for their money. There's no excuse for this, except that these are shady tricksters with bad morals. They obviously have a sophisticated front-end system designed to suck people in, there's no reason the back-end shouldn't be just as effective at paying people. Don't get me wrong, I respect the profit motive as much as anyone else, but you have to do it fair and square. cellforcash.com is not a quality operation. I hold out hope of being paid eventually, but that won't resolve the fact that these guys are fundamentally shady.

Never got paid
I sent in my iPhone 3GS (32 GB) after they committed to paying $240 for it. The attached screenshot is right from the website http://www.cellforcash.com/main/status.asp?Id=401439 - if you put in my email address, you'll see that they confirm they've received and tested the phone. I still have not received a check, and it's been over their 45 day window.

sent phone but no cash
Sent my old first edition iPhone to them & was sent and email saying that they have it & were checking it out. It passed but no $60 that I was promised yet. And no way to contact them. WTF!?! Plan on call BBB in Florida & registering a complaint & will also talk to the media in St. Louis and see if they can help spread the word about this crap!
Now Mr. Twitter before you chime in with some witty comment about do I believe everything I read. If you are not a part of the solution you are a part of the problem. Your a kick the guy while he is down kinda fellow aren't you? You sir are a coward and a cheap shot artist. If you have nothing to say that is going to help us that have been duped, then shut up and crawl back into your trailer in Pigs Snot, Arkansas and continue to beat your wife/sister for not getting the SPAM cooked before Springer came on.

Never got check...
I placed a transaction on the website to sell my "cell for cash" on 1/31/10. They received my phone on 2/11/10. They "verified" my phone on 2/18/10 and informed me that it was valued at $25. All this is according to their website when I log in with my transaction number and email address. According to their website, the next step is for them to cut my check. In the past YEAR, I have sent several emails and received either a promise that a check would be cut soon or no response at all. I was told a check would be cut in February 2010. It is now February 2011. I can understand if they were behind or if I had slipped through the cracks (although my first email in March 2010 should have solved that). But, it should never take an entire year to cut a $25 check. Next time I will donate my phone to a worthy cause and not to the pocket of some online SCAM artist. I cannot believe that they still have a website...

Never got paid
I sent them my old Iphone in June, they confirmed they got it in July. It was tested that next week according to the website. It has now been six months and I still don't have my check. I followed up with them in November they emailed back saying they would check on it and get back to me, they never did. Since then I have emailed and reached out to them at least 5 times and haven't heard back from them at all. These are scam artist taking phones and using them for their own purposes. They are stealing from people. Don't use them. Go to Radio Shack where they have a buyback program and give you gift cards to use in store. Or Verizon, who will let you trade in your old phone and get a credit to something else. I wish I could find these people and beat them to a pulp. I was suspicious at first, but then I read all these people refuting the complaints. Man, do I wish I had listened!!!

Payment Not Received
My transaction number is 393665. Cell for Cash received my 3G Iphone on 10/20/2010. Verification/testing was completed on 10/27/10. Per Cell for Cash's user agreement, payment is to be sent 45 days after verification of the handset. To date it has been 68 days and I have yet to receive an uninitiated email from Cell for Cash. I contacted Cell for Cash's customer service for the second time on 12/17/2010 and received an email response on 12/22/2010 stating my transaction has been forwarded to the accounting team along with my email showing concern and to contact customer service AGAIN if I need further assistance. I promptly responded indicating I would contact BBBOnline and my local TV station's consumer advocate reporter.
While searching online, I discovered this site and a plethora of other complaints lodged against this company. I emailed Mr. Mosieur via the yahoo.com email address from which I received an auto response indicating whomever owned that email address had to shut it down because he didn't work for Cell for Cash.
As others have written, the money is really not the issue. It's the principle and the run around. Customer service via email only sends a bad message and makes one think this company is duplicitous and has something to hide.
I simply want what this company promised payment for my phone or at the very least -- return of my phone in the condition in which it was sent which is EXCELLENT working order.
