Cendant (Days Inn) offer a 'best price' guarantee - but it appears it is impossible to obtain. Cendant customer staff is rude and obnoxious. I don't know next steps to escalate this, at best it is deception. Try it - book a room online at www.daysinn.com (you can cancel later) then search for a lower price same hotel room online (it's easy to find). File the claim form and Cendant will have one reason after another why they refuse to honor their commitment on their website.
In my situation, Cendant first said that they could not find the information online that I provided. I gave them specific step by step (and page by page instructions) then they said that they couldn't verify that the number of beds in the room were the same. Again, I provided that information. They then refused to honor the guarantee and became rude when I asked to speak to management. How do consumers protect themselves against what seems like obvious deception?
