Pritchett's Flooring America/Cenlar was issued a State Farm check on June 4, 2010 for installation and repairs for damages to a homeowner. On 6/6/10 this check was mailed (overnight with a return overnight postage paid) to Cenlar for their endorcement and asked to mail back to Pritchett's. After 2 weeks, Cenlar returned the check with 8 pages of information that the homeowner and contractor had to fill out verifying that the work had been done and authorization to pay. All of this paperwork was completed and notarized per instructions given. The check was endorced but only as "DEPOSIT ONLY" to Pritchett's Flooring America. We found out 7/20/10 that this check was deposited into Cenlar's bank account on 6/30/10. But on our repeated phone calls to Cenlar this was never revealed. Only more paperwork that needed to be completed. On 7/7/10 we had to send another form to them. On 7/12/10 we again talked to someone at cenlar and was told that they were in the process of getting check released. On 7/19/10 again we called and were told an inspection by Cenlar would have to be requested by the homeowner for this check to be released. Never before were we told this/nor the homeowner. Afternoon of 7/19, homeower received a check from Cenlar for 1/2 of the original check. Was told today 7/20 that this is payment for 1/2 the work and once the inspection was done we would receive the other 1/2. This work was preformed by Pritchett's - we are the ones out of pocket expenses and the insurance company would not have issued a check not would the homeowner have signed off on this job if it had not been done to satifaction and complete. Cenlar is creating a scam in depositing funds that do not belong to them drawing interest until they feel that they have made money on this and they after 3 months will release the funds. The mortgage was up todate, not in default and we feel this is unfair and should not be tolerated by the insurance industry nor companies that are trying to survive in todays economy by having these so called "Mortgage" companies take advantage of these loss claims.
