I live in a condo that I purchased with a detached garage.
The garage is equiped with an electric door opener and this works just fine.
At my closing I was issued a key to the garage to use as a backup in the event of a power outage.
As luck would have it the power went out recently due to a storm.
I tried to open the garage door during the power outage and the key doesn't even turn in the lock cylinder hence unable to open the garage door. My neighbor told me that he had the same problem and was told the wrong keys were issued for his lock.
I submitted a service request on the Centex web site and got an email response that this is not under warranty and I was given a phone number of the original garage door installer.
I called the number and was told that I would have to pay $150 to replace the lock.
I think this a legitimate complaint.
