I was enticed (via a web page) to try Acai Pure capsules for a free trial (as shown on Oprah and CNN), just pay the $4.95 shipping and handling fee. Unassuming to me, they by default, had checked off two additonal products and added it to the cart. By the time I noticed it, I had already clicked the submit button. I immediately began a chat session with one of their "virtual" operators who would not deviatae from the sales pitch. I attempted to call them that evening, I was on hold for 40 minutes and gave up. I also emailed them and still have never had a response. I never got an email confirmation about placing the order and when I did not get any product, I thought perhaps the order had not gone through. Almost 3 weeks later, I got the products in the mail. Reading the fine print on the sales receipt, it stated that after the "trial" (they deemed it 14 days), I would be charged an additional $39.95, in addition, approximately every 30 days I would be billed $44.90 monthly! No where on the original site was this information available. Also on the sales receipt, it says you may cancel at any time by simply calling or emailing them. Unopened products may be returned with a 15% restocking fee AND the free trial had to be returned within 14 days of the order! I hadn't even gotten it within that time period. I continued to try to call and each time the wait was forever - I finally got through (4th call) after a 46 minute hold time. I am currently waiting to see what the refund is. I think this company needs to be investigated, this seems to be a common complaint on their website for assistance, it has generic Q&A's to which the same exact scenario was presented (of course this was after the fact too, they direct you to it when you call the toll free customer service number).
