Unauthorized charges
After seeing internet advertisements about Acai-Berry endorsed by Oprah and Rachel Ray, I placed an order for a Free trial with $4.95 shipping charges.
After I submitted that order, another pop-up recommended Colon Cleanse for better results which was also a Free trial with $4.95 shipping charges. I then submitted an order for the Colon Cleanse. That should have been $4.95 for the Acai-Berry and $4.95 for the Colon Cleanse.
Before the actual products arrived, my checking acct was billed 2 charges: one was $88.97 and the other was 89.97. I immediately called to complain and sent an email to each company. I was advised that I was supposed to call them to cancel within 14 days if I did not want to continue receiving their products and the agreement also stated that if no call was made, I would incur full payments for both products and would not get a refund; however my account would be canceled immediately.
Since the products arrived the following day and I was angry at myself for not reading the 'fine print', I did not pursue this issue, but learned a lesson. However, today I looked at my statement and I see that 2 different amounts had been taken out of my account from 2 companies I never heard of and more importantly NEVER authorized. Ironically, these 2 companies also deal with Acai-Berry.
I have seen many complaints that mirror my experience. How can these companies get away with this?? Looking at the dates on some of these complaints, this has been going on for quite some time. I have changed my account, but I should not have to do that, because this should not have happened.
Has anybody looked into this SCAM? Does Oprah realize that she is endorsing CROOKS? This needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Thank You.

Never received my products but was charged
I ordered Acai Pure Berry capsules from Central Coast Nutraceuticals on December 10, 2008 as of today December 27, 2008 I still haven't received my product in addition to that when I ordered it - I was only supposed to be charged for shipping which was $4.95 however they charged me $44.95 for Hoodia Gum and water that I never ordered. I went back on the website that I ordered this from and NOWHERE did it state that I had to option to buy the gum or not. I'm really pissed off and I want my money back.

I fell for the AcaiPure scam...I paid $1.95 for a free trial and if you didn't like you could cancel your membership at anytime...I canceled mine one week later and received an email confirming this...then they turned around and charged $39.95 the next week...How do I get this money back? What if they keep charging next month? I sent them numerous emails requesting an immediate refund...I hope they get what they deserve...Jail time!!!

refusal to credit account
It looks like I"m not alone. SO Frustrated with this company. Like many others, I ordered a "free" sample of the Acai product off their website. Pay the shipping cost, sure, no problem. Boy, did I learn my lesson. Finally ( after almost 3 weeks), received a bottle of the Acai stuff PLUS some kinda hoodia water and some gum -- invoice was over $80. Obviously, I tried to immediately stop and cancel anything -- shipped everything back (unopened). That was in Oct -- and I finally, after having two charges for 39.95 credited by my VISA company, chose to close that account, since email responses were not satisfactory to address my concerns.
Beware of this company. I wish I had read the complaints before I got in this mess.

Unauthorized charges
I thought I was ordering single bottle of a vitamin supplement that was suppose to cleanse your body system and help with weight loss. They claimed the first bottle would be free but instead I received two packages in the mail with gum and some other type of or liquid drops. My second clue that this company was not legitimate was when I removed the invoice and discovered that I had been charged for two separate orders one at 3$39.95 and the other at $44.95. The paperwork gave a phone number and warned the customer(me), not to try sending the order back without first obtaining a confirmation number from the company by calling their number. The line was busy the first two times. I tried e-mailing my complaint, again no response. Finally, I obtained a new e-mail from this website and was told there would be at least a 50 min. waiting period. Sounds like class action time to me!

Central Coast Nutraceuticals in Arizona is a deceptive company. They said that all you need to pay is 4.95 for shipping and try the Acai Pure free of charge. They said nothing about getting charged in so many days i.e. 30 days
They sent more than I asked for i.e. Hoodia Gum and Hoodia water. They charged me $44.85 initially and $39.95 for the next month which is automatic unless you cancel the order. Big rip-off! Stay away from them!
