bassically, they are passing off worthless but expensive subdomains - as if they were 'real' proper domains.
they are not and have NO legal recognition or currency at all
i will add more on this remarkable piece of chicanery another time - but a slick and clever scam, it most definitely is !
below is some centralnic smoke and mirrors which apparently 'proves' that their crap subdomains are eqivalent to co.uk domains - they aren't:
'Q - What's the difference between a top level and a second level domain name?
An example of a top level is .com, while an example of a second level is .co.uk or .uk.com. Every domain in the domain name system is functionally and technically equal - the only difference between them is how they are commercially and politically operated.'
wrong!
the highest level you can buy in the dot com domain space is a dot com eg scam.com
the highest level you can buy in the UK domain space is NOT dot UK but is rather a co.uk or an org.uk
they are equivalent : ie scam.com is on a par with scam.co.uk or scam.org.uk
scam.uk.com (centralnic's subdomain rubbish) is a level below both scam.com and scam.co.uk and has NO legal value or title at all
the offficial registries (of which centralnic s most certainly NOT one, whatever they imply on their site ) - only record top level domains:
eg dot com or dot co dot uk - NOT subdomains of ANY sort
here is another goodie:
'Q - Are you recognised by ICANN as an official registry?
ICANN only deals with registries working directly under gTLD and ccTLD's - ie registrations at the second level. CentralNic is working towards setting up a Private Registries Working Group that will attain full ICANN recognition'
utter bulls h i t ! in fact the correct answer should have been: 'no and we never, ever will be - as ICANN has no interest WHATSOVER in ANY subdomains and never ever will have'
the centralnic site is ful of this sort of deceptive meaningless twaddle:
nice try centralnic! - but WE aren't fooled, even if the punters are!
the clincher though, is that while proper dot coms cost £34 for two years
- centralnic's useless worthless rubbishy subdomains cost £80 for two years
