disregard cancelled order
I responded to an AD on AOL for a product called Aci Berry marketed by Cerbam Health Forever..I was to receive a free 30 trial order..at the end of the 30 days I would be billed for the product if I did not let them know I wished to cancel the order..I sent them two emails..They responded the order had been cancelled..I ordered the produce Dec. 12, 2008. I called the company Dec. 19, 2008, talked to a company rep., told them I did not want to receive the product. The company rep., supplied me with a cancellation confirmation number..I recorded all this information. Although the initial order was free you had to supply a valid credit card number to complete the transaction. Only because the bank issusing the credit card notified me that on Sept. 26, 2010, the credit card would no longer be accepted and that I would be supplied with a new card with a new number, was the scam caught..The bank supplying the credit card called me on Sept. 27th, 2010 and told me a company was trying to access my credit account for 29.95 and did I wish for the traqnsaction to go through. The bank supplied me with the phone number of the company trying to access my account.. I called the company, talked to a sales rep., and this is what I found out. The company he worked for recently purchased the company I made the 30 day free trial offer with. The original company had been billing my credit card company for 29.95 month since Jan., 2009, even though I had a valid cancellation confirmation number. The new company is sending me a check for almost 500.00 to cover this scam. No, I haven't received the check as they have 14 business days to comply..Do I think I will receive it? Yes, I believe I will. Why? Because the company arep supplied me with the date of the initial purchase, the credit card transactions dates, and they all matched my credit statement. They didn't just simply hang up on me.
