Can't fix their own equipment!!!
On January 19, 2011, my 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4x4, suddenly threw a check engine light while I was driving about 60 mph on the freeway and then a message popped up "Reduction in engine power." Within seconds my speed dropped to 10 miles and hour and even with the pedal floored I could not get any speed or power to move out of the way of oncoming traffic. I came very close to being hit from behind.
I called the champion Chevy dealership here in Corpus Christi, Texas and scheduled an appointment to take my truck in on Wednesday Jan. 20. I was told the following day that the problem was caused by an emissions vent solenoid and that my extended warranty would not cover the part, so I had to pay $400.00 for the repair. I picked my truck up Thursday evening, Jan 21, and it broke down the very next morning-same issue. I took it straight back to the dealership and was told they could not even look at it til the following Monday, Jan. 24, and to bring it back then. I returned it to the dealership on Jan, 24th and again they had it for 3 days. I was contacted by the dealership on Wednesday the 26th, and told they could not find a problem, they figured they must have "knocked a wire loose, " so they checked all the connections and sent me on my way again.
On Monday February 14th, my truck broke down for the 3rd time, same issue! I took the truck back to them and after another 3 days they decided it was the clamps on the throttle body, so they soldered the connections and sent me home with my truck on the 16th.
On Thursday March 11th, my truck broke down again-Same Issue, for the 4th time! Once again it went back to the dealership. This time they informed me they would be replacing the throttle body and wiring, but even though my warranty would cover it, I still had to pay the deductible. I picked my truck up on Monday evening, March 14th.
On Thursday, March 17th, my truck broke down for the 5th time-same issue again. Took it back to the dealership and this time they informed me it was the positive battery connection on my battery, They said they cleaned the connection and tightened it back up, I picked my truck up from them on Saturday, May 19th.
I have been on the phone with the so called GM corporate customer service, and they were no help at all! In fact today I was told by their district specialist that they will not refund my money from the solenoid they replaced on the first visit because according to the local service department manager, HE informed my the first time that the solenoid was not going to fix the engine problem, that it was for another issue! When I told them I wanted to see the paperwork where that was supposedly discussed, I was informed that they didn't have it. So basically they took the word of their useless *** of a service manager over mine and didn't even need paperwork to prove his claims.
I have filed complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Assc. and I have found alot of people on line having the same problems. In fact the dealership here had another truck in the shop at the same time as mine that was back for its 3rd visit for the same problem as mine. So obviously they could not fix his either!
Chevy has proven to me beyond a doubt that they care nothing about their customers or their safety. I have come close 3 times now to being hit when my engine decides to cut power. Maybe after my kids and I are injured or killed due to their faulty vehicles, they will finally take notice. I'm in my 40's and this is the 8th Chevy truck Ive owned. It will however be my last and I have made it my goal to warn as many people as I can.

Service
2004 Tahoe in for several problems front end never repaired correctly and they replaced transmission at 32000 miles only to have it go out again at 60000 miles.
Tahoe was taken to indepedent repair shop fixed the front at my cost $400 and now $2400 to repair transmission the GM replacement had the seals in backward allowing the bands to burn up.
Stay away from the dealer and GM products.
I hate to say but Honda and Toyota make a far better product.
GM and Chrysler should go out of Business soon, If government don't bail them out.

Bad service
One year ago, me and my father, went to look for a newer vehicle. Possibly a 2006 Chevy Silverado, and a fellow customer referred us to Bill Heard Chevy in Houston, texas Highway 59. We got welcome in and we saw a silverado 2006 with almost 76, 000 miles, and no power locks or power windows. My father has a good stable credit history and we been buying our vehicles in different dealerships that are willing to work with their customers. We got approved and we started to negotiate, they ask us with atleast $2, 000 down and payments in around 550 to 700 a month. The salesmanager (supervisor)was a female that was not willing to help us at all whatsoever. Unable to negotiate they told us we cannot work something out and let us go. That same day we went to another dealership which is "Lone Star Ford", and we also got approved with a better vehicle 2006 Chevy Silverado with only 16, 000 miles at a payment of $450.00 a month bumber to bumber warranty. Me and my father walked out happy and satisfy with our deal and service.
In November 26, 2008. We went to Champion Chevrolet in Gulf freeway, me and my father went to a salesman for help. My father and I wanted to trade both of our vehicles for a corvette and a Hhr. We got approved and the salesperson with his unprofessional communication skills did not even bother to help us. He was in his cell phone all the time text messaging and did not even told us our options. Once again we saw the female we deal with at Bill Heard Chevrolet and again high prices unwilling to negotiate. My father then told them that he will put $10, 000 down for a downpayment. We were so interested that after being approved we were going to give almost all of our family savings for two deals. They ask us for more money in the downpayment of atleast $15, 000 to $20, 000 and payments still up in the $600 a month. Once again no deal and not even a great service. You just lost two customers and I garranty you, that another dealership will try to put us behind a vehicle. Me and my father have had bad experience with chevrolet dealership twice. We also believe that the female supervisor is bringing her bad service from Bill Heard too Champion chevrolet.

Poor customer service
For the Seat belt in a 1993 blazer, called in gave them the model and year, took the Vehicle in 4 times before they got it right, always oops we made an error, we will give you a call when the part comes in. unlike Chevrolet employees, i consider my time important.
The Transmission for a 1999 Tahoe, took it in, dropped it off, Scheduled, was told it would take (about ) 3 days, 5 days later i called they said it should be done that afternoon, the following day i called in, they said come get it, i drove off, only to have the Engine check lights and several other Warning lights come on in the dash, made another Appoint to drop it off, this time they got right to it, let me know it would take another day. Apparently the wires got pinched in the Bellhousing, i come back the next day and they handed me the bill for the repairs, i had to dispute the charges, the damage was caused by there people when they put in the new Transmission, stood around for another 30 min or so before anyone would talk to me, very displeased individual (big tall guy) signed it off.
Poor customer service.
The dates that these events happened were several years apart (4 years perhaps).

1 year old car paint chip problems.
In july of 2006, I bought a 2006 Chevrolet impala, from Champion Chevrolet. I'm getting lots of paint chip on the hood, doors, and rust on the trunk area. When I brought it in, I was told the rust was covered on the warranty, but the chips are considered normal wear & tear. I've had around six new cars, and we usually keep them from 6 to 10 years. I've never experienced this type of chipping. Who from gmc, can I contact.
Thank you.
