Australian Open Coverage
I am writing to complain about the coverage of the Hewitt versus Young 2 round match televised on channel 7 today, 21/01/2010. As an exclusive televisor for the Australian Open I was disgusted that in the middle of this game the game ceased being televised due to other programs on the station. I believe that if the event is solo televised on one station then coverage should not cease whilst Rod Laver Arena games are still in progress especially when an Austrlian is playing.

Coverage of Haiti
I would like to complain about the absence of effective coverage of the Haiti earthquake.
As we all know on January 12th, more than two hundred people perished in a freak natural disaster.
This event was not caused by any god, but by movements of the earths geothermal plates.
Perhaps this absence of a human force can explain the grave imbalance between coverage of events such as September 11th, 2001 and the beforementioned earthquake.
I rarely watch channel seven, and make a special effort to avoid any news coverage from the channel; and now my convictions are confirmed.
I sat for at least fifteen minutes, during which time I saw a story about credit card fraud, a visit from one of the Royal Family, and a story about the possibly flailing plans of the NSW government's Metro scheme for the city of Sydney.
While I'm sure these stories hold some resonance for viewers I think there are undoubtebly more significant events taking place in the world.
While I'm sure there has been some coverage since January 12th, I think perhaps more than two minutes could be afforded to the story.
I have read reports of incompetence of behalf of the United States, and an overall feeling that an invasion, not a show of unmitigated support, is taking place. Yet this found no mention in the 6pm news.
Nor was there any mention of the efforts being made financially to support the ongoing tasks being performed by the extraordinary people trying to assist this ravaged island.
Of course this is an unpleasant story; of course it is easier to watch Prince William kissing the cheeks and shaking the hands of his excited Victorian fans, yet I think a network which commands a great number of regular watchers, who turn to them for the news, must take responsibility and play it's part.
Media must face the facts that it too plays an undeniably crucial role in the relief effort. Only coverage of the event will spur those sitting at home on their couch to react, to consider how lucky they are, to consider helping out.
Thanks

Sydney to Hobart Start Coverage 2009
Apparently there is only one boat racing in the 2009 Sydney to Hobart. The coverage is BIASED toward the boat displaying the Channel 7 logo. Accompanied by atrocious commentary by the idiotic commentators.
For all the friends and family on board the other yachts it is a slap in the face.

Ghost Whisperer
I don't understand why Ghost Whisperer has a PG rating and is aired at 7.30pm! The beginning of every episode is really scary and my daughter has been having nightmares after catching the start of last week's episode. My daughter is 4 years old and 7.30pm is her bed time. These types of shows should not be aired before 8.30pm! I used to be an avid watcher of the Ghost Whisperer, but stopped watching as the episodes were becoming too gory / scary. I'm sure there are people who enjoy watching this show, but I just wish it wasn't on so early.

advertising on screen while trying to watch a movie
While trying to watch the 8:30pm movie - Casino Royale on Sunday night 27th September YOU!! (channel 7) placed in the bottom right corner of the screen an annoying add showing the advertisment for Flashforward. This was infuriating for me and my family because we found ourselves constantly looking at it and could not concerntrate on the actual movie.
The placement of the add was in a position that made it dominate the lower right of the screen because it was large enough to be noticed like as it it was a subtitle for the movie we were trying to watch !!! IT SHOULD NOT BE THERE AT ALL !!! This is why people hate TV and get so frustrated with free to air TV.
The ADD was bold, noticable and in a position to be clearly seen and dominate the screen, you guys have to do something about this because I am not the only one complaining about it, try to understand the inconveniance of it, we were all so frustrated that we actually decided to watch Australian Idol on another chnanel because of it!!

Brownlow Medal "Blue Carpet" broadcast
Channel 7's broadcast of the "blue carpet" was woeful. They showed about 5 dresses then spent the rest of thetime showing us footballers who can't act, Rebecca Maddern's ugly pink flower dress and Rebecca Twigley's boobs.
It was terrribe there was very little shown of the night, it was all pre recorded interviews about nothing.
If you only have half an hour make it worthwhile to watch, that was not worth it.
and don't even get me started on Fifi Box...

Murder, She wrote
I cannot believe that you are putting that dreadful show: "Murder, She Wrote" on at 2 pm now instead of "All Saints".
First of all, "Murder, She Wrote" was outdated and dreadful in the eighties when it was made, so now it's just stupid. There are some shows that you just HAVE to throw away... PLEASE don't repeat it any more. Nobody likes it!!!
Secondly, what about all the people who were following "All Saints"??? I stop for lunch every day and like to watch something while I'm eating. "All Saints" it's not the best show in the world, but at least is more relevant and believable than that stupid "Murder, She Wrote".

AFL Coverage
Channel 7, you disapoint me and many other fans of the AFL!!
It's the AFL finals & you can't even have the footy LIVE!!! Instead you have 'Better Homes & Gardens' on which i am sure can miss out the next few weeks to have the footy LIVE!!! What is wrong with you, the audience wants the footy LIVE especially when it comes to the final times.
Come on channel 7 pick up your game or give up the rights to have the footy!!!
You suck when it comes to programming the footy!! Even this Sunday final will be on a delay!!! Afraid you will stuff up on air...who cares...HAVE IT LIVE!!!
Channel 7 AFL coverage is a disgrace & stupid

AFL Coverage
Channel 7. Once again you dissappoint.
AFL finals footy and you have 'Criminal Minds' on Friday night instead of showing the first final of AFL for 2009 live.
You pay for the rights and yet you continue to let down your audience interstate with your programming.
f*ck you.
