I was travelling in Kashi vishwanath from Lucknow-Shahjahnpur on 11th May'10, train departured at right time i.e. 08:55 pm. I was sitting on the window seat at the opposite side of the platform. 2-3 Men of cleaning department of railways were there, a person use to sit on cemented structure and fill the water in the toilet of the coach. As the train moved, just at that time the person who was sitting there outside on the track side wearing the green uniform of cleaning department snatched my chain from outside through window. As it was dark on that side i was only able to see the green colour sleaves of the cleaning department uniform, after a while i told the whole matter to the escorts travelling in the train they were Ram singh and head constable abdul maqsood. I asked them to register the complaint in the book carried by them, but they refused and asked me to lodge the complaint with the Shahjahnpur GRP, as i reach there meanwhile they enquired me and wrote the details on the paper and called the Charbagh GRP. I asked my husband to lodge the complaint on behalf of me before i reach Shahjahnpur, but they also refused and told to lodge it at Charbagh station only. On that day i got many calls from Charbagh till 1:30 AM in the morning that we are doin our job. I thought that they are trying their best and i can get my thing back as the person was of the railway department who snatched my chain, but till now there is no response. A person named Mr. Tripathi at Charbagh station called me and told that they are enquiring the men who were on duty that day, but due to the enquiry they are not doing the duty of cleaning. I just thought sitting for a while that this all was done so, that i can't lodge the FIR in the next 24 hrs against them coz it can affect the reputation of their area and the crime count.

I request the Northern UP railways to do the justice and atleast should take a strong action against the men doing these things. This wasn't expected by the govt. personnels.
