Lousy Service
I'm trying to cancel my contract with Charter, due to VERY lousy service. It's always cutting in and out, and pixelizing. It's making me crazy. Plus here in Fallon we have to Pay the same amounts as others, that receive phone services along with their packages and we do not get the phone option. But still have to pay the same price as if we do. I checked on our internet speeds and we are not getting the speeds they quote to us. Matter of fact we are the lowest, almost globally. As far as cable internet goes. I'm always timing out on web pages. With cable speeds?? What is up with that. I would love to leave them in the dust for them breaking their quality of service contract!!!

CHARTER CABLE is BY FAR the worst HDTV so called cable company EVER PUT INTO THE CABLE BIZ!!! WE ARE SUPPOSE TO HAVE THERE BEST PACKAGE THEY OFFER AND I CAN NOT BEGIN TO TELL YOU ALL THE CRAP I HAVE BEEN THREW WITH THIS COMPANY ! AS I SIT HERE AND WRIGHT THIS COMPLAINT MY SO CALLED " BEST AND NEWEST HDTV BOX THEY HAVE " HAS GONE OUT BLANK 7 TIMES ALL BY ITS SELF AND TAKES AT LEAST 10 MIN TO COME BACK UP! ! ITS NOT EVEN WORTH THE TROUBLE ANYMORE TO EVEN PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL THESE ASSHOLES! BECAUSE IT WILL GET YOU NO WERE! I JUST WANT TO SET THIS SHIT CRAP OF A HDTV BOX ON FIRE AND THROW IT THREW THE WINDOW OF THE COMPANY WINDOW AND TELL THEM TO STICK IT IN THERE ASS . THEY TREAT YOU LIKE OOO WELLL YOU GOT OUR CRAP NOW AND YOU OWE US MONEY NO MATTER WHAT FOR 2 YEARS SO JUST DEAL WITH IT! CHARTER MAY BE CHEAPER THAN DIRECT TV BUT BY GOD WHAT EVER YOU DO PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR " BETTER HDTV CHANELS SERVICE AND DVR BOX THAT WORKS LIKE ITS SUPPOSE TO! MY GOD! IF I COULD BLOW THIS HDTV BOX TO HELL I WOULD! AND MAKE CHARTER EAT EVERY LITTLE PEACE OF IT! IF YOU WANT THE BEST GO WITH DIRECT TV IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY STILL GO WITH DIRECT TV TRUST ME THERE WORTH IT OVER THIS SHIT CHARTER CALLS A CABLE COMPANY!!!

Rip off
Charter Cable is (as the title of my complaint implies) ripping me off!! Why do I say that?
My October 2010 bill was: $56.17
My November 2010 bill was: $59.48
My December 2010 bill was: $59.48
And now my January 2011 bill is $75.35
To say that I'm pissed-off would be putting it mildly!!
I have not changed my service in any way, shape or form - by which I mean I've not added anything to what I already have...
Calling Customer Service is ~bleeping~ joke! The one and only time I did call them, I ended up talking to a call center in the Philippines - the person I spoke to was nice and pleasant certainly, but had not a clue what to do, or how to resolve my billing issue...
Be that as it was, something is wrong with my bill. Ergo, Charter is ripping me off!!
There is NO REASON why my bill should have jumped up as much as it has...
I'm about ready to tell Charter to take their service and SHOVE IT!!

Worst customer service
We are very patient people. We understand that nothing is perfect and that people are human. That was before we became a Charter customer.
We have had Charter service (or should I say lack of service) for 3 years. We pay nearly 150.00 per month for this lack of service. Our cable internet is down about 60% of the time. Each time we call we talk to a different customer service tech and are told the same thing over and over..."unplug the modem", "reset the modem" "is the cable tight" We explain that it is an ongoing problem they get snippy and go back to their "unplug the modem" speech... We have had a tech to our home several times. They scratch their heads and say it must be a problem outside. (we did have one tech that said we probably didn't pay our bill and maybe it was turned off, we promptly ejected him from our house...)
To Date, we have not been contacted by Charter in response to our request for an "outside" technician. We have no one to talk to other than the "read out of a book techs...)
I guess its time to move to DSL and a Satellite dish.
If you have a choice, don't waste your time with Charter cable. Its not worth the frustration!

Bad Cable Service and Scamp
DO NOT USE CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE- BAD SERVICE AND SCAMPED FOR MONTH
MY CABLE TV WAS HAVING TROUBLE SINCE 03-13-10 AND I REPORTED TO CHARTER CABLE AND THE TECH CAME AND TOLD ME THAT THE OVERHEAD POLE SPLITER WAS FLOODED DUE TO HEAVY RAIN, THE NEXT COMING MONTH I WAS CHARGED FOR THE FULL AMOUNT OF MY MONTHLY SERVICE WITH EXTRA SERVICE TECH FEES TOTAL OF 110.14. WELL BUT MY SERVICE STILL NOT FIX YET, I AM OUT OF SERVICE TILL TODAY 05-10-10 AND I RECEIVED ANOTHER STATEMENT IN APRIL AND MAY, THIS MONTH.
QUESTIONS, IS IT FAIR BEEN CHARGED FOR HAVING NO SERVICE FOR 2 MONTH AND BEEN CHARGED EXTRA FOR NOTHING, BEEN TRYING TO CALLED FOR HOURS AND NO ONES ABLE TO HELP. WENT TO ONLINED SERVICE LIVE QUESTION BUT WAS CUT OFF AND NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVED. THIS CABLE SERVICE IS JUST SO POORLY IN SERVICE, RUDE AND NOT EFFICIENT IN ANY OTHER WAY. NOT RECOMENDED AND I WILL TERMINATE THIS PRETTY SOON.

rebate
On March 30 2010 I purchased a charter bundle of internet, tv & telephone service it came with promotional of $50 for each item, total of $150 I didn't print the rebate coupons off at that time because you had to set up a service date to progress to that point I was called the next day by charter representative to set up a installation date to which I did, I cannot print the rebates off the internet now with out going through the process of placing a new order, I have called charter communications multi times and forwarded to several departments and finally to broadbandoffers.com which charter says they are the responsible party to remedy my problem I have called broadband to which they direct me to broadbandoffer.com-support I went their and could find no remedy to my problem, so I called charter again and was given the same run around then directed back to broadband. All I want is my rebate forms not blood.

Poor Service, Poor Customer Support
Charter has exhibited poor customer service at our house for years. They ran a orange cable across our yard a year ago, saying it would be buried within weeks. It has never been buried, making it difficult to mow the yard and is an eyesore. Our calls to have them remove or bury the cable have been without effect.

Lies and deceit on their bills
We were offered a 2-year package deal if we switched our phone service to Charter. Charter reps had offered phone, an additional DVR box and a few extra channels for only approx. $20.00 more per month. When the bill came it was close to $100.00 more, not $20! We went to talk to them about it before we paid our bill, and was told our service would go back to the original plan (at an additional $15.00 per month...of course!) We agreed. Wanted to pay what we owed with the new changes. Charter clerk refused to take our $$. Said he wouldn't know what exact charges are until all changes went thru their system, but we would receive a revised bill shortly. We didn't! What we got a little over 2 weeks later- a "Final Notice Before Disconnect" With a charge of $386.26!!! That's an increase of over $160.00 from the original bill!! Not too mention, doesn't "Final Notice" imply that (1) You've received a bill? And (2) You've also received a "Past Due" notice at least once??

took and extra payment from my account
We canceled our Charter cable, and we paid our bill with auto pay. After we canceled they took and extra payment out of our account. That was Oct 7th 2009, and we still havn't gotten out money back. I called 3 times and everytime I called they said it would be processed. In Jan I started stopping at their office, I've been there 3 times, and I'm always told it will be another 3 weeks.
If I took this amount of money from anyone I would get arrested, Why is it ok for a company to take money from my account ?
If I am late with a payment I'm charged.
I think they should be held to the same standards that they hold their customers too.

Terrible company
Employee to install phone services. Improper procedure resulted in costly damage to my alarm system. Interupted TV service, cancelled my VCR connection against my wishes, did not followup on appointments to correct the installation as promised, refused to accept responsibility for alarm damage or reimbursing the $50 cost of repair to alarm syatem. Were rude when asked for explanation of charges that seemed excessive, put me on hold so they could talk to someone about the situation, left me holding the phone until I got a dial tone, and never responded adequately to my problem.
I cannot recommend them to anyone and will be cancelling my internet service with them in the very near future.
