repo
We had got behind on our car payment and chase contacted us and they cut a deal w us and said our car could be ours. all we had to pay was 4800.00 to them and then they would send us the title. We told them that when our income tax check came in before March 1st we would send them the 4800.00 and we could keep the car until then. A couple of weeks later they came and repoed it and sent me a letter saying that if we dont have our money by the 15th which is 3 days away that they r selling it in Texas. Not only that but they upped the price of the car now. How screwed up is that. What r we supposed to do now without a car and 3 kids?

Rude Customer Service
I have had my Subaru for almost 20 months and I am now wishing I had researched this company more before doing business with them.
I am pregnant with my second child and due to severe complications was pulled from work but was waiting for my disability to be approved (which was about 90 days). During that time, I called Chase to advise them I wasn't receiving a paycheck and I knew I couldn't afford December's payment and would there be anyway to "tack it on" to my last month's payment. I was informed by Glenn who said they do NOT work with people, you either pay the bill or someone would be at my house to get my car. He also told me that they would call everyday that I was late and that the company would make sure to take the car in front of me and my 2 year old. When I asked for a supervisor, he hung up on me.
I called by and spoke to Mary, and when I told her I had never been late on a payment and I really wanted to work something out before I became late, she said that Chase doesn't work with people, you either pay or you lose your car. I couldn't believe for one month, nothing could be done. When I again tried to explain my situation and told her we were living on my husband's paycheck and I had a mortgage to pay and utilities, she told me what would I rather have my car or house. She said pay those late, it will take them a month to shut off my utilities and 2 months to start foreclosure proceedings. When I asked for her supervisor, I was again disconnected.
The bottom line is, do your research before signing with any company.

Unfair Debt Collection
This is the worst company I have ever dealth with. They lie, change agreements and state they will put things that you did not say on the record.
I am an attorney and I believe they are practicing unfair debt collection after reading the comments. I would like to start a class action suit against them. I would be main plaintiff representing all who want to join and I would find an attorney for this case. If anyone is interested please contact me at [email protected] and note Chase auto in subject category.
I could go on about the threats they made to me not knowing I was an attorney!!!

Failure to post payment
Several months ago I switched to paperless statements with Chase Auto Finance. The first month I posted my payment online on the Chase website, received a confirmation email and went about life believing that my payment had been made...then, the calls started coming. Ten to fifteen times a day, recorded messages from Chase. I was never given a specific extension to call or even told what the issue was. When I called nobody seemed to know what the recorded message was about. Although the website said that the payment had been scheduled, Chase never posted it. When it was thirty days past due I received threatening phone calls and was forced to make two payments over the phone to straighten out the situation. The puzzling thing was that the payment record they had for me was completely incorrect. They kept telling me that my last two payment were phone payments. I have never made a phone payment and I was told that their records were better than my memory. They dates that they had for payments were also incorrect. This month I scheduled my payment online and the calls have begun once again. I went to the website and it is telling me that I have already scheduled the payment and that I can take no further action. I also cannot seem to get a living, breathing person on the phone. I am looking into refinancing with another company.

Failure to Acknowledge Payment
My fiance and I took out a car loan with Chase. We have paid the bill through direct deposit to the account BEFORE the due-date each month. The mental giants at Chase then decide EACH MONTH not to post the payment to the account in a timely fashion. Instead, they report us as being delinquent with payments to the amateur bullies at their collection agency. (By the way, the little incompetents also charge us a late fee each month. I can now predict, on a monthly basis, when the endless round of "roto" calls will be made to our house and when the useless widgets will suddenly realize the payment has been made and, in turn, stop calling.) Have we pointed out the err of their ways to them? Yep, on numerous occasions by phone and by email. And, yes, they can try to be rude, pushy, and domineering. I'm not impressed nor am I intimidated. However, I am Cajun, in menopause, and ready to fight, so I'm sending a letter to Chase today with a copy to our State Attorney General and, if that fails, getting a lawyer. (There has to be a harassment claim in here somewhere.) Oh...and I forgot to mention the other thing I'm going to do: Refinance the damned car and never, never, never go near this company again. Spread the word, folks: When it comes to Chase, it's "Caveat emptor" all the way! Let's put 'em out of business.

Rude Customer Service
Not sure where to start. I have made 2 payments in the last 2 weeks and my December payment was due on the 6th. This is the 9th and they are calling me for another payment. I told her I would make a payment after the 16th for December. She says that was not acceptable. It would be 10 days past due. I owe less than $500 on this vehicle. Never again will I do business with them. I am on social security and only get my funds once a month.

Horrible customer Service
I recently lost my job and fell 30 days past due on my auto payment. I contacted Chase to let them know and attempt to set up a temporary repayment plan to get caught up and avoid getting another payment behind. to my surprise they do not offer any assistance and if you make any payment other than what is due is will not change your status! I tried to be honest and upfront with them and because they will not deal with me at all I am fearful of losing my vehicle. I have never had a loan through such a horrible company. After talking with other friends and family I discover I am not the only one completely dissatisfied with this company. I will never do any kind of business with them again!

Car Repo
Chase Auto hired a company to come reposes my car. I had no problem with that my problem is the company they hired destroyed my yard and septic system by driving through my yard. I understand they have a right to their property but they DO NOT have the right to destroy your property in the process. I have filed charges against the repo company and when i called Chase to inform them of what happened they were very RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL!!! They did not even check out the company they hired because the person sent to my home was not bonded and when the police ran his record he was on probation. So that makes me wonder what all kinds of people are they sending on our property. Do not I repeat Do not ever use Chase Auto! Another question why do we as taxpayers keep giving them bailout money? They are defiantly not here for the consumer.

Do not ever go to Chase
If you read my report and still don't leave Chase Auto Finance or avoid them if you don't already do business with them, then be prepared for what you will get for ignoring me.
I financed a new car with Chase in March '09. In September '09 I added another new car to Chase, so I had two auto finance accounts. To make a very, very long story short, Chase Bank did something that was very unprofessional that hurt my credit so I closed my checking account and decided to move my auto accounts to other banks.
My other bank sent Chase Auto Finance a check for Car A, and Chase paid off Car B. Both banks have said that it's my problem and I have now spent over two months trying to get Chase to reopen the account for the car that wasn't paid off and pay off the correct car. I am now paying three car payments for two cars. Car A at Chase is being paid and Car B is being paid at both banks.
So you say this isn't possible. They have to fix this. Well, all I can tell you is that you have not seen a level of incompetence like that at Chase Auto Finance until you see it with your own eyes. I have been told that it would be fixed in 7 business days, THREE TIMES NOW! It's still not fixed and I doubt it will be until I finally just start suing both banks.
I've had multiple days ruined arguing with these people all day on the phones. They've sent me letters halfway through the 7 day periods that they say they will fix the account asking for things that they've already asked for and received. It's the most unbelievably simple mess to fix if you are competent.
CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED! CHASE AUTO FINANCE IS AN AWFUL BUSINESS TO DEAL WITH! I've never been late on a payment and they treat me like dirt and talk down to me. I hope they go bankrupt and all of those scumbags lose their jobs for what they're doing to people. And by the way, Chase Bank is the reason that all of this even started. They are as bad as Chase Auto Finance. These people are scum. Stay away!
