Chase Auto Finance Reviews

Learned from Mistake! March 6, 2009
Illegal Practices
My husband and I leased a car through Chase Auto Finance, at the end of the lease we were slapped with $1400 is over milage charges. The dealer from whom we purchased the car never gave us a copy of the contact with Chase (we had a copy of a contract with Wells Fargo only, which clearly listed we leased a car with 15k miles per year). I agreed to make payment arrangements with them and was told that after 100 days I would be sent to collections even though I was making payments.

In addition, they would call and harrass us asking when we would be sending a check, the amount and check number. Good luck with their End of Lease Department. They are total jerks and cannot even send a fax face page up!

lease termination
I have a leased car with eight payments left. I have to get out of the lease b/c i hit the milage limit. So i bought a new car and needed to return the car to chase. Mind you Riverdale Jeep in NY would not take my old car. They were going to make the eight leftover payments. So I call Chase and they state (something not written in my contract) they cannot come to inspect/take the car before 180 days b4 it's due back. That's six months!!! I have eight months left and they are getting their money for all the paymnets upfront!! Why won't they take the damn car??????

Harassing calls!!calling neighbors and relatives!!!
I just lost my job a month ago and my car payment through chase is 18 days late. They keep calling me leaving nasty messages and then proceeded to call my brother in a different state with a different last name!!! They must have a payment no later than this friday before 4:00 PM or else! The woman that keeps calling is Cheryl from Tampa. She is nothing short of a harrasing abusive witch!

Refinancing
Don't ever try to refinance an auto loan with Chase. No one will talk to you and the only way to refinance is online. You fill out the information and in 2 seconds you are denied.

Unsolicited phone calls
I took out a car loan with chase. I made my payments on time for two years. Everything was fine until the economy took a nose dive. I had no source of income my husband was layed off from his job. we have very little money coming in so I called and asked them if I could make weekly payments because It was easier for me to budget that way. they said that would be fine. my payment is 300$ I wanted to make payments of 100$ weekly, lets do the math 4 weeks x 100$ = 400$ monthly.

at first that was okay until one day I got a phone call and they said it wasn't okay and they will only deal with whole payments. so we make weekly payments until they said we couldn't anymore. In the meantime they were calling my family members harassing them and telling them I owed money on my auto loan and didn't know how to get a hold of me- that was a lie because they were calling me harassing me because I was a couple of days late on that months payment- a couple of days!

I didn't end up receiving any money for two weeks SO of course they called daily and told the person assigned to my case I would need to make the payment late but it would be made. was threatened with repossession for being a week late, next day someone different called and said that person was not my case manager and I again was threatened with repossession, so after the daily calls, the daily threats they are inflexible unruly, ignorant, and most of all rude.

I became upset with them threatening repossession and if I didn't tell them just what they wanted they would come get my vehicle. sounds like black mail to me. So as it is now I am 19 days past due on my current months payment and they again are threatening repo. With the economy the way it is and everyone losing jobs left and right to threaten everyone that has lost a job seems counter productive.

They repo tons of vehicles, ruins everyones credit, there stuck with vehicles that no one can buy at auction, seems like everyone looses, so why not work with the owners who will take better care of them? Dealing with chase auto finance has been frightening, horrible, and aggravating at best and I don't have words for what it has been like at its worst.

Incompetent and Impossible!
After paying off the car loan, confirming that the transfer of money went through and was cleared and all, it has been impossible to obtain a receipt, statement or proof that the car has been paid off.

Also, I have dealt with a very helpful person but when trying to get back to her with the extension number she provided, all the customer service representatives answering the phone have refused to transfer me, and were unable to help me.

If you need the lien removed from your title, make sure to ALLOW more than a month and God knows how much longer until they finally send you a lien release.

Awful, very frustrating customer service. "There is nothing I can do" aptitude. Very dissapointing.

Will never again finance a car with Chase.
Manipulative, Dishonest, Bullies = Chase January 23, 2009
Chase auto=manipulative, dishonest,and Bullies
I received a call today from a guy at chase auto finance...very untrustworthy and manipulative. I asked him for docs. related to my car that was repo'd (voluntarily) and sold at an auction by chase. and the tone in his voice changed!...he eventually said my 04 landrover discovery was sold for 1800...lol! a car that i payed 26000 for! less than 2yrs ago!..these guys are thieves and will be reported. he called to do ME a FAVOR...he wanted to SAVE me money...unbelievable. i got myself into a very very bad loan with chase auto finance and Luxury motors in illinois...these people have no morals..they are thieves that prey on people. a $26000 car, with credit score in the mid 600's was financed close to $46000 and for 7yrs...i cannot believe what i got myself in!

Illegal repo and collection practices
Chase has been calling my friends and neighbors along with my Human Resource Department at my work repeatedly when i was behind in my payments. For two years never missed a paymen of 400.00t I was suspended as a result for two weeks. They sent a repo guy out to my house who had to be removed from my propoerty by the police for harassing and threatening behaviors. Repo guy three days later...attempted to run me off the road for about two miles ..came up behind me at a stop sign...smashed on my window threatening me if i didnt exit the vehicle...then jumped out in front of my truck preventing me from moving...hooked my truck and continued to jump around in traffic swearing at me..As a result of my slamming on my brakes and jerking my head sideways...I injured my neck. Finance guy Bob was aware of all this and was possibly on the phone with repo guy while he was doing this. I NOW CANT WORK RELATING TO MY INJURY ...THEREFORE COULDNT MAKE AN AGREEMENT TO BRING PAYMENTS CURRENT. After finding out I was injured as a result of Chases collection practices...his only comment was that he would be repossesing my truck immediately...Pressing charges against this illegally practicing company...STAY AWAY FROM CHASE AUTO FINANCE!!!

Harassing phone calls
My brother got a loan from Chase Auto Finance and used mine and my 75 year old mother's names as references. Chase never contacted us for a reference about him, but now that he isn't paying his bill, they tell me it's my responsibility to get him to contact them. Neither of us co-signed for him (and wouldn't because we know he doesn't pay his bills). The collector who is named Miss Parker, who's phone number is 1-866-647-4960 ext. 1607, said that she didn't know her supervisor's extension or name and that I couldn't speak to them at that moment. I asked them to quit calling my mother, as it is very upsetting to her and has her calling me crying because she thinks she should do something. And this is impossible because she lives on Social Security. These people are heartless, blood suckers. I have given them my brother's phone number and address, and they still call us because he won't answer his phone. He's a loser, and their company is scum. I'll be filing a complaint with The Federal Trade Commission and would encourage anyone having trouble with this company to do the same.

everything
Chase are crooks -

Why do you think they're the only company left??!! They scam you into paying $14 to PAY your payment (even if its early) over the phone; don't send them a post dated check, cause they'll cash it whatever day they get it. They have no control over that. Its a machine that processes the checks.. but don't be late on your payment! They have NO CLUE as to what they are talking about as far as they're unspoken rules; they're rude and they harass you constantly if your 24 hours past your "due" date.. Im talking if your payments due the 1st and not paid, you can expect an hourly call on the 2nd and daily there after until you're payment is paid... that by the way, you have to pay them $14 to take.
Your loan contract is a hoax. When you try to call them on it - they have some b s reason as to why it is no longer "valid" or some deeper explanation as to why you didn't read it properly.
They take high risk borrowers so they can take advantage of them by their 23 percent intrest rate and rob people of their sanity. I mean, lets not offer any incentive at all for on time payments and trying to better your credit for whatever reason it might be.. let's just add to the problem and make it a bigger hell for 80% of the "in debt" americans to regain they're credit in this "you have to be rich or a top executive" credit world. And
Heaven forbid if you want to change the due date of your payment to prevent loan from going in default in the future.. be prepared to pay big for that.. some people have $9 or $10 A DAY interest in addition to your already contracted loan amount. And you can NEVER change the date again for the life of the loan.
Lets think why they are one of the largest auto loan company around.. hmm... Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac lending practices going on?? probably. Lets give high risk lenders a loan that they can barely pay but only on a brand new vehicle not a used cheaper one, then we'll see them lose it for non payment due to the failing economy (no thanks to us and our big whig top execs making the big bucks) and they're credit will still remain garbage and this note will add to the mess.
Great idea Chase. Glad to see you have the american way down.
Greed, power, and top execs...
Sometimes driving off a cliff with they're investment seems all too tempting just to get out from under a piss poor company. After all, they want us to continue to have bad credit so they can charge the 23+ percent intrest and 10% handling fees.. how else would they make their money.
I agree with everyone complaining about this company. They suck and I pity anyone that has to deal with them. Hopefully they will be one that goes down soon.
