Chase Auto Finance Reviews

HORRIBLE COMPANY
Chase is the WORST MOST RUDE company i have ever had a car loan through. Heres my story. I went through a private dealership, on my way to buy a beatiful car. I ended up buying my car August of 2007, for about 13000$. My interest rate was HORRIBLE, and Chase would not allow me to refianance even though for the first 12 months i paid on time every month. Last month, my boyfriend and i got into a bad accident, and of course we had all sorts of problems with our insurance paying our claim. After not being able to work due to a broken foot for over a week, i feel behind in bills. I couldnt pay my car payment for 45 days, and tried sending in smaller payments. I started recieving VERY rude phone calls from people at Chase threatening to send cops to my work. Then i recieved a call from some " man " who said he was a cop coming to serve me. Well the guy wasnt a cop and he worked for chase. Long story short, i made an agreement for my car to be picked up the following morning. This was a verbal agreeement THEY TOOK MY CAR W OUT MY CONSENT

Rip off
I contacted them on why the principle paid each month was different. I called them when I received a late notice and saw that the principle was a certain amount. If you times it by the number of months is was about $1000 difference from what they are showing. I have a high risk loan and if I want to trade in the vehicle I owe way more than what it is worth. They shouldn't be able to do this. Giving people high risk loans does not help the person. If they can a lets say a $250 loan note giving them more in interest rate may make it $350+ note. What makes them think someone could afford that then? Yes I do not have the greatest credit history but I know I would have been able to make the payments easier with a lower interest rate. They do not want to give the little guy an opportunity to prove himself. They are just looking for $$$ and that is the bottom line.

Illegal Collection Practice, Harrassment, Retaliation
I am a former employee of Chase Auto Finance Roseville, CA. I my employment was terminated for not participating in Chase Roseville's illegal collection practices (among other things, such as standing up for myself while working in a hostile work environment, retailiated against, discriminated against... etc... ).

I have retained an attorney who has been in contact with Chase's attorneys and Chase is emphatically denying that they have any illegeal tatics that have have come out of this office.

I am wondering if anyone has dealt with this office and can be of some assistance to my attorney and me.

Please contact me if you have ANY information at all regarding Chase Auto Finance, Roseville CA

Liars
So my fiance and I fell 45 days behind on our car payment. The gentleman at the local office made arrangements with us and we were able to stop the repo. We let him know our next payments would be Sept 16 and Sept 23 due to the prev checks going towards rent. He said that would be okay, we just had to stick to it. These people love calling your references. They have called my mom, who has nothing to do with my finances, stating they could not reach us. They never call me. And my fiance is at work all day, he can't answer the phone. Today they called my fiance's dad, stating they needed to speak to us or our attorney? Excuse me? 1. We made arrangements. 2. Our payment is only 3 days past due. 3. Shouldn't you call US BEFORE YOU CALL OUR FAMILY!!!?? I can't stand these people. They are the worst creditor I have EVER had to deal with.

Auto loan being placed into default for not paying for a duplicate title and sending it to the bank
When I originally purchased my car last November, I financed my car through the dealer, and my loan was assigned to SunTrust Bank. I was unhappy with the trerms of the loan (5 year/8.5% APR), so in January, I decided to refinance my car loan through Chase Auto Finance, which offered me better terms and a lower APR.

My loan with SunTrust was paid off by Chase, and I began paying my car loan to them. About a month later, Chase contacted me and told me to send the vehicle title to them. I had not yet received my title from the DMV, so I told them that I would send them the title as soon as I received it. When I finally received my title, I noticed that SunTrust Bank was listed as the lienholder. I called up Chase, and they told me to send the title, along with the lien satisfaction letter from SunTrust Bank, back to the DMV to have the old lien removed. They taold me to forward the duplicate title with the lien removed to them so they could add Chase Auto Finance as the new lienhold.

I agreed to do what they said, but since my state charges a $20.00 fee to removed a lienholder and issue a new title, I asked Chase to pay, as I had previously paid a $75 title acquisition fee to Chase at the beginning of my loan. They refused to pay the $20 fee, so I told them that I would not submit the title to the DMV. I continued making all loan payment on time.

A few months later, I received a letter from Chase Auto Finance that my loan was going to be put into default status because I did not send them the title. I called up Chase Auto Finance, and after being kept on hold for almost 20 minutes, I was told that there was nothing that can be done to avoid my loan being put into default status. My only option was to pay off the loan in full.

Since I didn't want my car repossessed and my credit ruined, I decided to dip into my savings and pay off the balance of the loan. I just sent out my loan payoff check this morning, so I hope that by the end of the week I can finally be rid of Chase Auto Finance and their heavy-handed tactics.

DO NOT DEAL WITH WITH CHASE AUTO FINANCE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING TALKED DOWN TO, LIED TO, AND SCREWED!

Double Debit, overdraft fees
In June of 2008 Chase double debited my checking account and stated it was my fault because I had made two payments online, one for instant pay and then scheduled one for three days later. I explained to them that I had not done this and wanted one payment credited back to my account. Also, I wanted to be reimbursed for the overdraft fees they had caused. I was given a laundry list of things to fax them (and I did) but got no where with this. Well, after double debiting my account, they sent me a check for the overpayment BUT THEN refunded the two debits to the bank!! Two payments out then three payments refunded!!
And now they say I have a negative report on my credit history for 30+ days late!! I can not use my checking account because Chase keeps taking and returning odd amounts. So, I thought that I should use auto - debit and made arrangements with chase ofr this to start --------- well, when the date came for the payment to come out automatically I was told it couldn't happen as we had agreed because my Chase account was delinquent (???) The will tell you anything on the telephone but will not stick behind it. Plus, They never paid the full balance to the former car loan company and it took me over three months to get them to do after being told several times it was taken care of. This was another derogatory credit rating I did not deserve. It's just not a group you can trust with something as valuable as an automobile or your credit. In a word they are crooked.

Harassing calls to wrong number
I received the first call asking for a name I didn't know - told her she had mis-dialed; I'd had the number for years. She treated me with disrespect; as if I were hiding them. Got a similar call a week later; this time with a taunting tone. I complained to Chase Auto Finance. They claim there is nothing they can do unless I provide information on the collector calling! The third call I tried to get a name - the woman suddenly realized I was trying to track the call and hung up instantly.
That Chase hires a person such as the one by whom I was harassed, and is indifferent to their actions is unconscionable.
I tried to reach senior management at Chase Corporate to let them know their Auto Finance division was in need of attention - I was blown off with a "You can send your concerns to this address.".

False charges for car "wear and tear" after lease turn in.
In February I turned in what was my second leased Jeep Grand Cherokee and my fifth leased car. The new car I leased is a Ford. Therefore the Jeep was turned over to the local Jeep dealership to be sent back to Chase Auto Finance.

First problem I had with CHASE AUTO FINANCE was that it took them over a month to find my car. I kept getting calls from them saying that I had not turned it in and that I would continue to get charged for it! By the way, I had finished paying off the lease and hadn't had the car since the day I leased my new one (Feb.14 2008). They finally tracked it down (God knows how or why it was such a problem) on March 27, 2008.

Then within a few days of them finding the car I received the letter (dted March 28, 2008) telling me what I owed for the "wear and tear" on my vehicle. Let me just say, I almost fell over!! This included what was described as the "Disposition Fee" ($300.00) and the list of damages. I was well aware from the contract of the disposition fee, but I also was aware that there is a $1500.00 deductable for this so called "wear and tear".

Yes, my Jeep had a small ding on the back deck door and I believe another ding on the back door driver side. And, I do know that it had a paint scrape on the rear fender. (which easily can be buffed off). It had a few scratches around the front door handle from continuous use and I honestly I can't think of anything else. But, based on the itemized list I received ... I turned in what was equivalant to Redd Foxx's junk truck!

This list contained a damage charge for literally every section of my car!

Front Bumper Cover scratched...$160.00
Front Hood Dent ...$256.00
Left Door Front Dings multiple...$ 45.00
Left Door Rear Scratched...$228.00
Left Quarter Panel Scratched...$212.00
Rear Bumper Cover Dent...$236.00
Rear Deck Lid Dent...$244.00
Right Door Front Dings Multiple...$ 45.00
Right Door Front Scuffed...$ 20.00
Right Door Rear Scratched...$208.00
Fender Rusty...$162.00
Right Quarter Panel Dings Multiple $ 45.00
Right Quarter Panel Scuffed...$ 20.00

This totals...$1881.00!!!

Are they kidding me! Look at those repair costs! Charged $212.00 for scratches... that weren't there no less! Notice that there isn't a spot on my car that doesn't have a charge attached to it. If my car was in that bad a shape, I would have taken it for repairs BEFORE turning it in. I am the only driver of the car. I don't have a husband, I don't have kids. How much damage can one small woman do???
What I find most interesting though, is that the costs go over the $1500.00 "wear and tear" deductible just enough to bring my charge up to almost $800.00. A nice chunk of change for Chase.
I called the 800 number and spoke to a woman who was supposedly a "Supervisor" trying to explain that I knew the charges were wrong and that I wanted them to be adjusted. She was very, very VERY rude...even raising her voice to me and at one point was going to hang up on me. She told me that if I didn't have photos and/or any other kind of proof then there was nothing that I could do. By the way the ONLY time she wasn't trying to scream over me was when I noted the charges being over the deductible and how convenient it was for Chase to appraise in such a way. THEN ... there was dead silence. HMMMMM.
So, basically I am screwed out of the equivlent of just under two more monthly lease payments on a car I no longer have.
By the way, I should mention that when I asked back in January about a lease buy-out cost, they were going to charge me $21, 000.00 on a car that I already owned for five years, had paid $25, 000.00 on already and that had a book price of no more than $16, 000.00!
These people are out right crooks!!! DO NOT LEASE WITH THEM ... EVER!

Unprofessionalism!
I asked that Cathy Young call me back. She said that she would not that a supervisor would. She said it was noted 2 minutes ago that Sally took the message for a supervisor to call me. She asked for my phone number. I asked her what number she had for me. She said she did not give out phone numbers. I asked if she needed to pull up my account. She said she had my account in front of her. So, just by calling back my number had pulled up my account - how cute!

Bottom line - I have to this point given Chase more credit than they obviously deserve. Pat told me I was making it difficult. Really Pat, who is making it difficult. I simply want to speak to a supervisor in the Collections Department. How difficult can that be? Apparently for Chase pretty damn difficult.

Sincerely, L Couch.
