poor service
I have been checking the online banking system twice a day;and still this month I have close to 100.00 overfraft fees;one for only two dollars! This has never happened before;also in one branch here the teller told me I had to use online banking from now on and that she was only there to bring new customers to the bank;she also did not offer me the best programs on my cd's and did not inform me of all my options;the ones she did offer me seems to have worked better for the bank and not me.When I called to have at least one overdraft fee removed I was told the computer system could not be overided;although it had made mistakes and is not always accurate when I check it online. Also chase gouged my interest rate on my credit cards;right before the new restrictions on cedit companies went into effect.I am withdrawing all my money feom this bank-I feel it is a scam and a ripoff.

Making Homes Affordable Program
Making Homes Affordable Program or trying to get your home loan modified by Chase is a scam and farce. They keep asking you to refax your "modification" packet and tell you to call back once a week. I have been dealing with this for a year now. They lie and have nothing to gain by helping you. They should not be in this program, I thought it was supposed to help people. They give you different phone numbers to call and do not give you a straight answer.

inexcusably bad service
Chase froze my husband’s account because of an identity theft alert on his account. Chase never called or alerted my husband about the status of his account. The bank refused to allow him to make a deposit or cash any government checks. Which is apparently against the law in this situation. The bank required for him to prove his identity with social security which he did but the account remained frozen. The bank, however, continued to charge fees for all of the electronic transactions that were preset with online banking. They also considered allowing an electronic debit for 999, 999, 999.00. Over a week has gone by and they remain determined to collect the nsf fees that they tacked on from all of this mess before they will even consider to open a new account. Their policies don’t make sense. The customer service is appalling and I would never trust or recommend any business affiliated with Chase.

Holds release of lien too long
I did the financially responsible thing and bought a car with cash from a private seller who unfortunately had a loan from Chase Bank. I met her at the bank on May 15 and paid off her loan with cash. The bank representative converted it to a cashier's check, said it would be forwarded to the loan department and I would receive (with their customer's permission of course) the release of lien within 6 days. It is now the 26th and I still have no release. I am still unable to use the vehicle I have paid insurance on since the 15th because I cannot transfer the title and plate it...so it sits in my driveway. I called Chase (the local branch the seller uses in Okemos, MI) and was told by a female that it takes 15 days to receive the release of lien. She offered to have Corey from the loan department call me to see what he could do. To his credit he did return my call the same day. However when I told him I would tell all my friends and family what a poor experience I have had with this bank he hung up on me.
Bottom line...avoid Chase if you care about customer service or expect them to act in a timely manner.

CHASE BANK EXPANDS WHILE TRYING TO CLOSE SMALL BUSINESS
NEW YORK, NY, April 30, 2010 – PMTS Intl Pasarela, a twenty five year New York City based business is seeking justice on a serious issue that nearly crippled its business and closed its doors. Doors that have been open to the multi-cultural community they serve in an effort to provide training and coaching to individuals in need with the necessary skills to succeed in the entertainment industry, society, and the general workplace. These courses have uplifted thousands of individuals and brought a new sense of self worth and taught many to be secure with themselves and who they are. Through determination and perseverance, they have kept their doors open because they love the community they serve and feel the services that they provide benefit the multi-cultural community at large.
Beginning in 2008 through 2010, PMTS Intl Pasarela was a victim of a series of a check cashing schemes. While there have been arrests and prosecution of individuals relating to these thefts, and individuals involved have been charged with various crimes, the bank that they dealt with at the time, Chase Bank, has refused to honor their claim and replace the monies that were stolen. At the time of the theft, they were dealing with the Chase Bank branch located at 305 Seventh Avenue in Manhattan. Once they discovered the theft, they acted in a most responsible manner by immediately notifying Chase and the NYC Police Department so that they can avoid any further losses. However, upon filing a Business Forgery Questionnaire with Chase Branch management of the branch at 305 Seventh Avenue of J.P. Morgan Chase, the company that received substantial amounts of bailout monies from the Treasury, they were informed that it may be in their best interest to end their twenty (20) plus year banking relationship with Chase as a result of placing this claim. PMTS Intl Pasarela management and officers were shocked and appalled. How could an organization that has an extensive history with Chase, a bank with such allegedly high standards, suggest that a client go elsewhere because they were a victim of theft? After some research they found that websites such as www.ripoffreport.com show over 1, 669 complaints against Chase Bank for similar situations while www.complaintsboard.com show over 4, 771 complaints against the banking giant.
In an effort to prosecute and assist the NYC Police Department, PMTS Intl Pasarela required information from Chase. Several times they had requested documents, and their request fell upon deaf ears. Chase had not been fully co-operative with PMTS Intl Pasarela regarding the investigation of this matter. PMTS Intl Pasarela management made several requests for copies of checks (front & back) to provide the forged and stolen checks to the District Attorney’s Office. After many trials, tribulations, and repeated requests, Chase finally co-operated. The manner in which Chase handled this claim is below acceptable standards in the banking industry, the industry the taxpayers of America had bailed out a short time ago. PMTS Intl Pasarela advised Chase Bank’s Legal Department as well as their CEO, of this issue, and their right to appeal, albeit in vain, as letters that were sent did not so much as receive a reply. Is it possible this theft may not have resulted if Chase Bank’s security procedures were in place and signatures were verified to see blatant forgery?
Chase Bank denied PMTS Intl Pasarela’s claim for the crediting of these stolen checks that they report to be over $29, 000.00 stating that they “…failed to exercise ordinary care in preventing the related forgery and theft”.
PMTS Intl Pasarela does not believe that they failed to exercise ordinary care. They diligently protected their assets located in their headquarters/office. Their company has been a community leader for the past twenty five (25) years in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and has been heralded in nationwide print and television media, as a multi-cultural innovative force in the lives of thousands of families from all five boroughs, as well as bordering New Jersey and Connecticut. They are a small company, one that has done everything possible to take reasonable and necessary precautions to protect our valuable assets, including the integrity of our checking accounts.
PMTS Intl Pasarela has had the fortune of being able to serve the New York City Metropolitan Area and surrounding New Jersey and Connecticut community for over a quarter of a century. Their goals have been set to continue to bring their services to its amazing; however, they are pleading for your support. The realization remains that Chase Bank acted in a manner most inappropriate. They would like for Chase to act in a responsible manner and honor their claim, and replace the monies that were stolen in part by their lack of security with respect to how simple it is for someone to cash a stolen check at Chase.

CLOSED MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT NOTICE
I recently had a problem using my Chase Debit card while making a purchase. A few hours later I called the automated recording to check my balance since I knew I had available funds and to my surprise, the recording said I was negative $39 Million dollars! I then called the banks 800 number and asked what happened. They then connected me with an "account specialist" who really had no answer for me. All she said was that "Chase has made a decision to end the relationship with my account and will be closing it" ! I said what!!! Why, whats the reason? No answer was given other than I will be getting a letter in the mail. I had a few transactions that had not cleared and she did not care about them and said, "well- they just wont get paid"
My wife then called also and they gave her the run around with no answers either! Finally, after the weekend passed my wife went into our local branch to speak with the bank manager and was a total ASS!
She said that she strongly suggested I keep our money there til our recent transactions cleared or we will get an overdraft. My wife said " you guys are the ones that are closing our accounts after being with the same account number for 15 years, through Great Western, WAMU and now Chase and they treat us like this !!! With no explaination?? I just also found out that 5 people I know had the same thing happen to them. And no answers either for them!! What the Hell is going on here? Can anyone explain or have a theory or maybe happened to you as well??

Bogus Charges
I'm out of work right now. In typical fashion I had $2 in my account. I accidentally used my bank card to pay for something instead of my credit card... IT IS DECLINED. Chase bank than proceeds to removed $68 from my account because of this... then charge an additional $15 for my account overdraft. That's $83! Why? For DECLINING my debit card?
Customer service kept saying "it's in your contract" or something to that effect, making no attempt to actually explain the charge.

They make sure that you will pay late fee
Never take the TJX reward card. It is managed by Chase bank . They are real suckers.
They make sure that you will pay late fee. Your late fee is their bread. Real suckers. Even if you send the payment 4 days before the due date they will post it one day after the due date. Then they will charge 10$ late fee and a big interest on the amoutn due and a finance charge. Immediately they will raise the apr to 60%. No remainders. No grace period. No courtesy calls. Real suckers.

Its unfair and unamerican
Why does Chase get a government bailout for screwing up and a regular american cant get help. Its unfair and unamerican.
These Wall Street bankers have the government in the pocket. Both Democrats and republicans. But the Republicans made this mess over the last 8 years by allowing banks to run with no regulation or oversight on investing or management.

I am very unhappy about the service I received from Chase
I am very unhappy about the service I received from Chase. I went to the bank to have my funds transferred from my unemployment secure card to my account. The lady scanned my card then came back and told me that their system was down. However, my funds came off of my card but was not in my account. I spoke to branch manager Jorge in Hammond, In. His attitude was very unprofessional. He told me to go to the umemployment office. I did so and they told me that it was stuck in cue for Chase. I pulled it up on the computer and took to the bank to show proof. Jorge would not look at it and basicly just brushed me off. Needless to say I did not receive my money. They would not reverse the transaction and I was left to suffer the consequences of someone elses mistake. I was a Wamu customer never had any problems at all until Chase took over. This is ridiculous!! Something needs to be done. I was unable to pay my bills. I have a green notice from Nipsco and no food. What am I to do. Please help get these chase people in line.
