CLOSING ACCT WHEN I HAD FUNDS IN IT
I AM SO ANGRY I COULD SCREAM. I RECENTLY OPENED AN ACCOUNT WITH CHASE .
I opened with a beginning balance of 16, 697.00 from a W/C SETTLEMENT.
I, like many others, had waited 2 yrs for this money while living on next to nothing, so yeah, i was making major purchases.
ANY AND ALL CHECKS WERE COVERED, AND NEVER ONCE DID MY ACCOUNT GO INTO DEFAULT.
BUT AS SOON THE BALANCE BECAME 2000.00 THEY FROZE MY ACCOUNT AND USE OF MY CARD !
TODAY, I RECEIVD A LETTER, STATING MY ACCOUNT IS BEING CLOSED AND I WILL BE SENT A REFUND CHECK ? WTF ?
I HAVENT EVEN GONE INTO DEFAULT, AND THE FIRST DAY I NOTICED MY ACCOUNT WAS NOT WORKING, I WAS TOLD I HAD A PREVIOUS BALANCE WITH THEM BACK IN 2003 AND THAT THE OLD DEBT HAD BEEN SOLD TO A COLLECTION AGENCY.
Within 30 minutes I had contacted the collection agency given to me by a chase rep, paid the damn 203.00 via a pre-paid card, received a confirmation number, called the chase rep back, gave the confirmation number and was told its not good enough they need proof by the form of a letter from the agency. i called back the agency, and was told they have no access to chase, it being a financial instituition, and that they do not report to the chex system ??? again, wtf ?
I than had two different reps telling me two diffeferent stories, and the funny thing is, all they had to do was take the $$$ out of my account if indeed i owed them, which i'm really starting to question !
SO, INSTEAD, THEY ARE SHUTTING MY ACCOUNT DOWN NOW, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PAID WHAT THEY SAID I OWED, AND SINCE THEY FROZE THE DAMN ACCT, I WILL HAVE TO SUFFER THE PENDING TRANSACTIONS THAT DIDN;T GO THRU, WHICH I'M SURE I WILL BE CHARGED 35.00 PER ITEM AND I THINK ITS A BUNCH OF B.S. WHEN I STILL GOT MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT !
NOW I KNOW WHY MY GRANDFATHER SAYS BANK DO NOTHING BUT RIP PEOPLE OFF !
I WOULD RATHER STUFF MY MATTRESS THAN DEAL WITH ANY OTHER BANK AT THIS POINT.

Fees
I had 6.48 in my checking account. Using my card I spent 4.81 and had 1.83 change which I later transferred to my savings account. The bank charged me a $34.00 insuffucient funds fee. They say I was short 16 cents. They state that the 4.81 I spent was not processed until after I transfered the 1.81 to my savings account, leaving my checking account with insufficient funds to pay the 4.81. Although the 4.81 was shown to be paid instantly on my account long before I transfered the money.now my online account is showing I made the purchase 5 DAYS LATER then I actually did. They have manipulated my account records in order to charge me the fee!!!

Illegal NSF Charges
I had an account with Chase until there was NSF charges showing up on my account. When I asked the bank they stated that they charged since automatic charges were being placed against my account with insuffucent funds to cover the withdrawal. I asked who was making the withdrawals, I was told we don't know. I closed the account on a Monday and teh bank stil charged my account the NSF charges ffor three days days after. I asked why, teh manager told me the account doesn't actually closed for three days after you notify us. I attempted to dispute the charges and was told to leave or they would call the police. They sent the charges to a collection agency and to this day the bank still refuses to verify the debt, provide me with statements that shows who attempted to withdrawl the funds from account or allow me to properly dispute the charges and pay me back almost $2000.00 in charges that I paid before refusing to pay more.

Credit card cancellation
Chase canceled my credit card, which was an account that was transferred from Washington Mutual. In the notice they said that it was because they checked with Experian and I had too many high accounts. The thing is that I had a payment protection in this card and that was covering all my monthly payments and the credit card had around 50% of credit in use. They just sent me the letter saying it was canceled and at the bottom it had the already widely known wamuclosure1 that many people are mentioning.
To me, this seems like they have targeted a very specific area of credit card holders without giving any option except paying all the account at once.
Very bad on Chase and I hope the Consumer Protection Bureau takes a stand on this.

Credit card payment cancellation
On Friday, July 3, 2009, I logged into the Chase.com website to make a payment on my credit card. While I was there, I decided to set up a payment for July 9th for a 2nd card that was formally through Circuit City. After making the online payments and logging out of their website, I realized I had forgotten to change the date for the 2nd card to July 9th; so, I logged back in within about 10 minutes of making the payment. Their website has a feature that allows their customers to delete pending payments. I had never used the feature before. I checked and saw that my payments were still pending so I pressed the delete button for the card I needed to change the date on. It gave me an error message:
"We were unable to process your change. An error has occurred while processing your request. Please note the time and report this error to customer service. (6881)"
So... I followed the instructions and called Chase Bank customer service. I explained what had happened to the agent and he assured me that he could cancel the payment for me over the phone. I was relieved...until Monday, July 6th, when a check of my bank account showed that the payment had posted anyway. I called Chase bank customer service again. The customer service agent didn't know how to handle my situation, so she transferred me to another department that handles payments. The woman in that department said they could not cancel my payment, didn't know why the first customer service agent had told me that they could cancel the payment, and (here's the kicker) if I didn't like it, I was more than welcome to consult a lawyer. Unfortunately, at that point of the conversation, I screamed a couple of expletives at the rep and she hung up on me. So...now I had to deal with overdraft fees and overdraft protection fees of about $40 because the first customer service rep obviously didn't know how to do their job.
I've got some customer service experience under my belt and I was trained to work with the customer to the best of my ability. The last thing that I would have ever done to a customer would be to tell them to get a lawyer when it was obvious the mistake was made by one of my employees. If Chase Bank would like a good customer service representative to come work for them, they are more than welcome to contact me.

excessive unfair nsf charges
Over the past few months as for many, money has been very tight.
My Checking account was with Washington Mutual who I really liked.
However, now comes Chase bank. What a NIGHTMARE!
Over three months time they have charged, correction, TAKEN $1300
in NSF fees. Now, I am not perfect and I do have to use all my money
every month. I am currently on Disability from a work injury.
Chase I have discovered manipulates the order in which they clear
there debits and credits. I didn't think fast enough to copy every day.
However, I did get a few. There were some charges showing one day
and 'somehow' were pushed aside until several others from the next
day had gone through
As private Individuals, or small business, we all try to get the biggest
bang for our buck. Wouldn't it be nice if you could play around with
your customers bills until they totaled enough to pay yours?
OF Course NOT because most of us have conscience's
Anyway, each fee is $34. Now they may charge 10 fees equaling
$340 right? Now, their idea of customer service is to reverse $100.
So cool, under normal circumstances that might be fair. Not when
this is deliberately designed to make them a slick $240 off of who
knows how many a day!!
Just to be fair, the customer service agents that answer the phone,
9 out of 10, have been fair and tried to be helpful. However, when I
was finally graced with the presence of a manager on the phone,
Without even knowing or frankly caring what my problem was,
Her Highness "Constance" told me 'Ma'am you just need to stop using
your account.' As I tried to ask why I should not use MY MONEY
which gets direct deposited to their bank, not only would she not
be quiet long enough to listen, but proceeded with 'Let me just let you
go' .. and promptly hung up the phone on me.
I was not being abusive or rude in any way.
Of course since they have taken more than half my income
for the past two months, now I have many overdue and about
to be shut off bills! Thanks for NOTHING CHASE BANK

SCREWED
Chase bank is robbing me blind I had $172 in the bank. 2 checks came before my electronic paycheck deposit. One check was for $176 another was $54.63. Chase ran the $176 check through, creating a negative, charged me insufficient fees then ran the second check ($54.63) then charged me again. This is screwing me. I want to get even.

Awful, awful, awful
Recently I received an email from Chase Bank. It content the url stating that they have good offers for investing in companies were we could earn more in the form of interest. Ok, it reminds me that the email was commonly send. so it must be true only. Later, I fill all the information needed in the form that url provided and submitted it. Some days later I started receiving calls from unknown person saying himself manager of the Chase Bank asking me to subscribe for their various schemes. After saying no for several time I talk to someone from Chase Bank directly to get information regarding te email, but no help I got from there call center. I would only say that if Chase Bank wants to save its bank from being bankrupt should stop such activities or either look into the matter to help out their customers to gain their trust.

Fraud and scam
After paying all payments on time and paying 4-5X the minimum required, I just received notice that my Chase Credit Card accounts have been closed for some pretty flimsy reasons:
1. Number of bankcards opened has grown too fast.
This is an ambigious statement. What is grown to fast ??????
I have 2 credit cards, one opened in Feb 08 and one opened in Nov 08. Obviously my credit was good enough to open the accounts?????!!!
2. Average length of time since bankcard opening is to short.
Another ambigious statement. One card has been
open for 18 months and one card has been open for 9 months. What does the length of time the card is opened have to do with anything????? If this is how you evaluate a person s credit worthiness then you would have to close
every account that was opened...because when the card is opened the length of time will ALWAYS BEGIN SHORT...Duhhhh
3. Total available credit on bankcards is to low.
This is a LIE! Total Fabrication!!
I have one card with a $2, 000 credit limit and a balance of $290.
The second card has a $2, 000 credit limit and a balance of $1, 165. The second card has a higher balance because I was offered a 0% rate for 12-months and I used the offer to pay for my deck. I have 6 months left at 0% and planned to have it paid off by the end of these terms. I have never added anything additional to this card.
If this is how Chase treats a GOOD customer I have no use for this bank. I should mention that all of my other credit accounts are in good standing and all I have no negatives on my credit reports. This bank is a Rip-Off!!

Overcharged greatly
I found out about the increase in the minimum payment rate from 2% to 5% only just today. Chase told me that they sent a letter in June, but I never received it. On a $20, 000 balance, this is almost a $600 per month increase, which is incredible.
It would have been nice to have received some advance notice. It would have been better to have the minimum payment increased gradually over time. We're now stuck with figuring out where to come up with the additional money after only just having returned from a vacation.
