Cashing check
Chase bank is trying to change the good American ways!!! I am a contractor and have been for a long time... I pay for products out of my pocket in CASH, and ask my customers to pay me in cash so most of them write me a check to CASH and all other banks will cash it since they take a finger print and 2 forms of ID's with all the info they need on the person cashing it!!! I had the most HORRIBLE experience today at the chase bank located in Lake worth on N. 10th Ave and Florida Mango dr. 2601 10th Ave N, Lake worth FL - ( Ellen Burnelle) the manager that could not tell me if the account holders are even aware of the fact that chase bank does not cash check made out to cash, even with all the identification and finger print!!! I am a contractor how am I to know which bank has which policy... I am working hard just to get paid on the job I did and all they say it "NO" I swear this is what one of the managers at the location told me... "I am saying NO" just like that... when I ask is there any other bank that does this she says yes there are plenty ... I ask name one... she says nothing!!! I ask if she can just this time call the account holder and make sure the check is in the right persons hand and she says NO!!! What has America come to? How can they change the rules and ways we have been doing business for years in this country and also be so very mean about it!!! I had my uniform on and was just coming back from a job and even dough she was not presentable with her hair flying everywhere and just the way she carried herself and talked with me was the rudest I have ever witnessed!!! Of course if a guy like me loses his temper he is going to go to jail... But how can they make a hard working man feel like we are from a lower class, because they are the only ones trying to change the way all banks work!!!

checking fee
Chase bank has now started charging a $12.00 fee for any checking account that you do not get an amount of $500.00 in one single deposit each month.I make app. $360.00 a month therefore I will never have a single deposit of $500.00 in my account being I have direct deposit. This is discrimination against lower income people. There must be something we can do???

Out of Control fees - unwarranted
A company that I am on direct debit with, put my payment through 3 days early, resulting in numerous overdraft charges.
Contacted my bank and said that I should just deal with it, pay it, there was nothing they could do.
How is this possible? The company that took my payment won't do anything about it either.
I'm not sure what recourse I have here, should I go through small claims?
I have already paid the charges to the bank, but I'm disgusted with this whole thing and don't feel like I should be penalized for this idiocy on the part of the company that took the payment early.
Shouldn't I have been able to dispute this charge? Shouldn't I have been able to do something through my bank to have this post on my acct withdrawn?

Frozen Accounts
In June of 2010, I opened a new business account. I submitted documentation for the DBA. This was in addition to two personal accounts I already had with Chase. A couple months later, I changed the accounts from my personal social security number to a federal tax ID. I've since opened a second business account for the sole purpose of receiving deposits from various sales portals including my merchant processor.

Earlier this week, I see a text come across for a debit of $9, 999, 999.00 on both business accounts. Both are frozen and all funds are unavailable.

I contacted my local branch who had to make calls to determine why they were frozen. He was also the same person who opened the account when he was at a different branch. He finds out all they wanted was to verify the DBA. They freeze accounts for this???

They claimed to have sent a postal letter to me a month earlier. One was never received. They also claimed to have sent an email to my personal banker as well as the branch manager. My banker didn't get it.

By comparison, I made a charge with one of my distributor's warehouses in Australia recently. The next day, I received a phone call, a text message, an email and a postal letter to verify this was a legitimate transaction and not fraud. But, I received only one notice before they froze my account.

I'm 95% a cash business. Of more than $40k in inventory, 98% of it is paid for. I own it. It started out a pain but I like the idea of not owing someone else when I sell product. However, I have some vendors who are a cash-only business. They don't give credit to anyone. So, with two particular items I fell short and was unable to buy product. My personal account had too little as I draw only what I need and contribute as much as I can back to the business.

Chase froze my ability to conduct normal business for THREE days. They could have made it even worse if I needed access to a large portion of cash during that time.

In the next two weeks, I'll be opening accounts with a smaller, more personable bank and subsequently moving my funds there. If this is how they treat a small and rapidly growing business, I want no part of them and their brand of customer service.

foreclosure
I have had a mortgage with Chase for years. They have always been thieves and do not work with people in desparate situations. They were working with my husband and told him step by step what we needed to do to get our home mortgage interest rate reduced. He jumped hoops and after it was said and done they told him that now his credit score was to high and they could not do anything for him. They have our first mortgage at 8% and 2nd mortgage at 12% last time I checked. To depressing to continuing looking at something you have no control over. I think the second is even higher. Anyway, I am trying to find someone to give me advice on what to do because now my husband has lost his job and I am the only one employed. I contacted chase bank because we were 2 payments behind and told them I would have the payments to them within 1 week and they told me fine, they would do what they could to help me. I did as they told me and made a payment, they told me I had until the 6th of April to make the payment and I made 2 payments by the 5th. On the 2nd when a payment was made they rejected it. I contacted them and had to speak with 5 representatives, I think they just kept hanging up on me. I finally got someone to take the payment, it was taken out of my bank account, I called the next day and made a second payment, again taken out of my account and came home from work after both were taken saying that they "cancelled my payment and did not take and that if I try to make any other payments to them that they would just keep rejecting." Help!!! do you know anyone who can help. Chase is awful to deal with. I have spoken with countless reps and they keep saying sorry! I don't want a sorry I tell them I want a resolution. What do you recommend?

Worst bank ever
I received a promotion from Chase... open a checking account with a minimum deposit of $100 and have a direct deposit of at least $100 a month with no minimum balance and I receive $100. I thought easy way to make $100. Opened the account and the savings account too in order to have the free checking. I'd have $100 directly deposited from my paycheck and after it transferred to the checking account, I'd transfer it manually to my regular bank (USAA which I love). I logged in online to transfer for April and guess what? I noticed the balance was $6 less than it should have been. I called customer service to find out what this service fee was for and the representative told me it's because they changed the terms of my checking account. I had to have at least 5 debit card transactions, minimum direct deposit of $500, minimum balance... I said I don't know anything about this let alone agree to any of it. The rep said it was on my last statement. I don't even get statements... it's all online so unless something cued me to look, I wouldn't! I said no thanks to Chase. Like how they change the terms of service on you and you don't have any say nor do you even know about it and they expect people to stay their customers? There are so many banking options these days. I've been with USAA for 13 yrs and absolutely love their service. It's probably the best out there. The worst, Chase. Stay away!

Minimum Balance Fees
Classic case of 'the rich get richer'.
So, I've recently been notified by Chase that if I do not carry a minimum balance of $1500 and/or have at least one direct deposit of $500 monthly, than they are going to charge me a $12 fee each month. What a crock of sh*t!!! So they are going to penalize those of us that are living paycheck to paycheck. The poor get poorer.

Closed account without notice
I had an account with Chase bank. I had no activity on the account for 2 months, but I never received any notice that the account had been closed. I had set up a direct deposit to Chase from an employer. I looked online and noticed that the direct deposit had been made and the amount was correct so I assumed everything was as it should be. I made 2 credit/debit withdrawals at a couple of local businesses. The amounts were approved and I never gave it another thought. I went to make another purchase and the transaction was declined. I didn't understand why as I knew there should be plenty of money in the account to cover the transaction. I went online again and my account was gone along with the balance of my direct deposit. I called Chase and they were not at all helpful and just said they closed the account because I hadn't made any new deposits in 2 months. They claimed that they returned the direct deposit to the depositor. I can't check on this for another week as that employer is not available until then. Meanwhile, I don't remember what businesses nor the exact amounts of the two transactions that were approved. I don't have a final written statement as everything was done online and I can't access any previous online statements since the account has been closed.

CHASE Bank Davie Florida assist. manager Whitney Desir called a police on me
CHASE assist. manager Whitney Desir called a police on me
March 19, 2011
To whom it may concern:
I felt helpless and humiliated by my bank "Chase" at 6529 Nova Dr, Davie, FL 33317
(954) 370-3463, assist. manager Whitney Desir called a police on me.
If at any point it seems like I’m embellishing or exaggerating, I request you watch the surveillance video and see how Whitney Desir escalated this situation from nothing.
Today is Saturday 3/19/2011. I went to make a cashiers check at this branch close to my business, I was asked for a password for my account which I did not remember because no one ever asked me that before, so I offered her all my ID's, debit cards, check book and pin number for that account and anything else that she needed, but the teller refused to make a cashiers check for me because I did not have a password, the teller called the manager who came and said that there is nothing she can do for me. At this time my husband suggested to use his business account to make a cashiers check so we can save time, while the teller was analyzing the check I made a comment to my husband (private conversation)”I find it stupid that If I'm physically at my bank why can’t they just let me cash a check and than make a cashiers check”
at this point the teller jumps in my conversation and says “ we are just trying to protect you“, I told her I understand but since I’m here there has to be a way to resolve this issue and that I find it dumb to have to go thru this hassle to access my money, she tells me since I have no respect for her, she will not attend to my transaction and we have to go to another teller. We asked the Whitney Desir assist. Manager to put us with another teller who can continue the transaction, the original teller takes the manager in the back room and I'm not sure what the conversation was the manager comes back goes on the computer, in the mean time I begin to have another conversation with my husband asking him how far do we have to go to deliver this cashiers check (again please note a private conversation) he tells me Opa locka, Miami and I responded "Oh no we have to deal with even worse there " (my exact words” this time the manager jumps in my conversation and tells me that she will not make a cashiers check because I'm disrespecting her and her employees, by this time I’m totally annoyed but since I’m in a time crunch I stayed cool,
I reminded her that this is a private conversation with my husband and its not her business to jump in every time I’m trying to communicate, she said that I'm not allow to have such conversations, dumb founded, I asked her again why does she think that she can dictate what conversation I can or cannot have with my husband, now she gives my paper work back and tells me that she has the authority to make the decision not to service my business and I should go to another branch, when this happened another customer an older lady came up to me and said this is a norm at this branch and this branch has very bad customer service and attitudes and she is used to it at this branch and have no choice, I felt bad for that lady and myself for feeling helpless so I asked the manager to close my account immediately, she told me "No" go to another branch or she will call the police, I was loosing time because I had to deliver the cashiers check to a business that was closing in 20 minutes I had no time and ability to locate another branch.
Well, the police came told me it was a civil matter, he told me outside he felt bad for me and gave me number to contact if I decided to pursue this. I was completely humiliated and needless to say lost the purchase I was making with that cashiers check.

I think, employees actions is a reflection of the immediate supervisor. An employee will act as they are trained and mimic from what they have seen from their supervisor.
I feel sorry for that old lady who told me that this is a norm for this branch and get use to it, I know changing banks is time consuming, especially for old people and business owners like me who put all there trust into one bank, I’ll have to learn from this.

I’m just a drop in the bucket, check the list of unhappy Chase customers on the web.
