scam charges
I had a Chase Credit Card since 1994 (15 years!) always paid on time and most of the time paid off my balance monthly.
In July of 2008, I paid my balance in full and closed my account (had another card and felt I didn't need 2).

Today! March 2009! I get a call from them saying I had a "residual finance" balance with LATE charges added in, totaling $322, and if I did not pay in 2 days they were submitting me to a collection agency!!

They said since I had signed up for "paperless" statements, they had emailed me - but never sent a letter or notice or anything to my home, even though they had my current address.
After speaking with a manager and trying to get the charges waived based on my 15 years of good history with them - they refused to do it and still threatened to send me to collections.
I reluctantly paid. Then the best part... they said I would be getting ANOTHER BILL for 20 days of March not included in the $322!!

I can not believe that institutions get away with this. They are clearly finding loopholes in order to trick people into charges.

high fees
This credit card company charges astronomical finance charges and cash advance fees. I believe that they put fraudulant charges on my charge also.
Don't do anything with this charge card company. They charge whatever they feel like charging. I heard the government is suppose to do something about charge card companies and high fees that are charged. This company is definetly one that needs to be investigated.
I can save you a lot of sorrow, if you do not do business with chase. I am sorry that I ever got involved with this company. Course I believed I was doing the right thing by transferring balances from other cards, which was suppose to be 0%, well I have paid everything but 0%. Now I am transferring this to another company just to get rid of them.

Bad service
We received a Low Introductory Interest Rate Offer of 5.9% to transfer balances from other Credit Cards. After making two payments Priority Club stated we missed a payment and raised our rate 28.9%. After further review we made a payment two (2) days before the billing statement date. (The billing statement runs from the 5th to the 15th of each month and I made a payment of the 3rd.) After talking with the Customer Service Rep. I was informed the we "Could Not" make early payments and that the payment we made two days early was posted to the previous months bill. (So you would think that your next months bill would be $0.00 due.) This made the next month statement late, but the worst part was they charged a "Late Fee" of $39.00 and that months bill had a $0.00 payment due.

So we received a $39.00 late fee for missing a $0.00 payment due and then increased our interest rate to 28.9%.

Raises interest rate
First a little background. My credit rating is excellent and I work to keep it that way. I always pay creditors on time and always pay more than the minimum payment. In the middle August I went through a pile of old junk mail and discovered my Chase bill, which was now a few days overdue. I immediately called Chase and was told that as long as I included the missed amount in my Sept payment all would be OK. The following week Chase called to say that I needed to pay the missed August amount immediately, which I did online while the Chase representative was on the phone. My bill arrived for the Sept due date and the 2.99% rate I had been paying (due to balance transfer) was increased to 13.99%. I called Chase and to their credit they reduced the rate to 5.99%. I complained about the increase from 2.99 to 5.99 and was told to "see my cardholders agreement" and that Chase "loses money" at 2.99%. I immediately transferred the remaining balance to another card that was offering a 2.99% balance transfer rate. Thank you Chase for the reminder that we cardholders are just a way for you to make money. One mistake warrants an 11% increase in interest rate? Oh that's right, let me check my cardholder's agreement. I'm not even disputing the $39 late fee because I was indeed late. I was actually feeling a little loyalty to Chase but I will in the future return the level of loyalty that you showed me.
