Chase Credit Card Reviews

Customer service
Chase bank took over my bank several years ago and the level of service has gone incredibly down hill. I have a Chase Freedom Card which for the last year or so I have used occasionally.
Last year I erred in leaving my interest free charge too long and incurred an interest charge. I paid the charge but complained about the calculation, after several message communications, rude replies from Chase I might add in which I questioned the calculations they have knocked me off the website because I noted that I was unable to calculate the average balance from the calculation that they sent me. The website gave a phone number to call which I did (they say there is a "Security Problem" after getting passed around numerous times and calling back on the fourth try I am told to take identification to a branch.
Several days later I did this and the girl then calls the same department which questions her about me and asks if I am a customer of the branch which she tells them no (I opened my accounts 20+ YEARS AGO at a branch bank office that does not exist anymore) then my drivers license, another credit card, and finally my social security card which I did not have on me. then whoever she had called declined to reinstate the account. Apparently he (or she) just kept asking until there was something I did not have in my pocket. The people in the branch are always nice and cannot do anything. Since the Chase purchase have closed 2 of my 3 checking accounts, 2 credit card which Chase bought and now a third that I will not use. Since I no longer have a checking account the branch is inconvenient and I have several other cards and have opened accounts at other banks, I discovered as an employee of a bank that you should never use just one. It is clear that questioning them will bring retribution. I questioned the calculation used to compute the interest I paid, since it was only $8 and I had paid it last February I was not very concerned but I feel they are consistently stealing from their customers and cut off any questions when found out.

Suied for over $1200 for a credit card I owed $360
I absolutely hate Chase Bank they are the most successful criminals out there today. I had a Wamu bank credit card the company was bought by Chase Bank while I was unemployed. As soon as Chase took over the *** began over limit + late on top of over limit. It went from $360 to over $1200. This was done purposely to make money. I had other credit cards I could not pay while unemployed None were as ruthless Chase with inflated charges almost 3x the original debt. During the time I was out of work I talked to many companies to make them aware of my situation and let them know I was doing everything I could to make arrangements/payments. The Chase representative was the Only one who had a "to bad so sad attitude". There were no offers to try and help. When I asked why the fees were so grossly inflated the representative said (loosely translated) "you know that's part of how credit cards work". Not all credit cards or the companies... and I can say that from experience.

Unfair practice - using fraudulent charge in their interest!
I noticed a fraudulent charge of $1409 in my Chase Credit Card statement. I initiated a dispute with Chase Credit Card. During the next 3 months Chase Credit Card would credit my account as if returning the money and then rebill the money back again. It keeps looping over and over. When Chase Credit Card rebills the amount back and the credit card balance sky rocket up above $1409, it also applies interest charge to the new balance and claims big minimum payment of more than $100.
Customer Service would claim that they don't see on their computers what I see in my Chase Banking online. Dispute department would not return calls, answer official letters or faxes. They are not supporting their customers! Contrary, they are using the situation to rip the money off their customers who got into trouble with fraudulent charges on their credit cards.
Is there a government agency helping to protect rights of deceived credit card holders? If you've been in my situation and won the battle, could you please share what to do?

Shame!
Chase Credit Card charged my account a one dollar interest fee. I know its only one dollar. However, my account was closed well over a year ago and I just made my last and final payment over a month ago. Now how can this bank charge me a "minimum one dollar interest fee" on a closed and zero balance account? My gripe is this. What if and I am certain there are, a million other unsuspecting people out there being frauded a this small amount. Thats a million dollars in the pockets for the CEO's. the rich keep getting richer while they steal from middle class working people. shame

interest rate of 29.9
I am the owner of two businesses. I use my chase credit card. I am late a couple of times but not 0f 30. I have about 60 plus employees. I have been zapped by your 29.9 % interest. In the past 12 months I've payed over $4, 500 in interest and only a little over $1, 500 went on balance. Which is $14 k. You are ripping the public off and it's painful. During these tough times people use these sources for money. Chase Bank uses these tough times to rip off the customers, while chase take 25 billion in tax payers money. lower those rates on people who are having a tough time please.

poor customer service
I have had a chase account for 14 years with no problems. I have always paid my payments on time and never went over my limit, until recently. I missed a payment by 3 days and went over my limit once because of the interest they tacked on. I recieved a notice in december that they are going to raise my interest rate from 13% to 17%. When we called to talk to a representative about this we hit a road block. The guy on the end was rude and would not help at all. He just kept repeating himself about how it would not change the interest on what I already owed only on future purchases. I said, "I don't care, I will not use your services if I have an interest rate that high. My credit score is over 800 and I have no reason to pay a rediculous amount of interest. After a 30 minute conversation with this so called supervisor I got no where. I had to close my account. They did not care at all of my continued service with them over a 14 year period of time and would not take that into consideration at all. I asked to be called back by his supervisor and did not recieve a call back after 48 hours as promised. So as I promised I would do I am finding every sight I can possibly find to post about my experience with this poor service company that does not care if they keep there customers or not. Regardless of your credit score they will charge whatever they feel is necessary and will not budge to keep there customer happy. So if you are thinking about signing up with this company, think twice because if you are looking for a company with good customer service (which is important in this day and age) then you will not find it here. Fraudulent charges
Chase charges me an annual fee every february. I had just called Chase on January 5th, 2011 attempting to close my account and the representative requested that I should call back when I really paid up my account. The payment for january was on th 17th. So I thought I should call on January 17th. But then on January 6th, I get a fraudulent transaction red flag on my email. I called back to Chase and told them that I have not used the Chase credit card since December 17th. I requested the Chase personell to cancel my account as some one has authorized an illegal charge on my account. So Chase representative states that if I cancel my acocunt now, they will report to the credit bureau that the account was cancelled due to dispute over unauthorized charges, which decreases my credit score. There is something very fishy...Chase representative may be selling my account info so that I would not cancel my account and that they may charge me $65 annual fee in february. Chase is forcing me to stay on their account until the fraudulent charge is resolved...and by their pace, they will charge me another annual fee of $65 on February. Chase is very malicious..if you do not want to do business with them, they will attempt to destroy your credit score. Beware

Ripoff and false offer
Chase cards offered credit card that provides points ffor airmiles. I used the card for many years, made payments on schedule and accumulated points on it. Generally, I paid off the card completely.

After many years of use and after having just made a payment that paid off the entire balance, I received a letter stating that the card was cancelled and I would lose the points I had accumulated.

Chase refused to reissue the card or provide a new one and transfer the points.

This was the biggest ripoff I had ever seen.

To date no other credit ever did that to me.

Chase had the gall to start sending me offers for a new card offering air miles! Are they crazy and just malicious?

You are better off working with any card other than Chase.

Chase deceptive practice
I'm the holder of Chase Freedom credit card account #5401 xxxx xxxx 8631 since Mar 2007 and never miss a payment. My credit line on the account is $15.000. The main reason I use this card because Chase named it Freedom and it has unlimited 1% cash back.

On August billing cycle, I use the card for merchandise purchase total worth $60.000. I then made all the payment at Chase bank in cash before I reach the limit so I can keep using it.

Chase closed my account on August 16 and send me letter saying that because I using the card and built up too much rewards. They decide to close my account so they don’t have to pay out my rewards. They also said my credit is no good and I’m not experience to handle debt. Total rewards around $600 for the billing cycle plus another $100 from last month billing cycle. My credit score have no marks, and over 750 in FICO score.

As of August 28 billing cycle, my account has $14.485, 88 in credit balance. I had been contacted Chase 3 times since the day account was closed for the refund balance on my account. The answers from Chase I'll have to wait for them to verify the payment which all was made by cash, the payment not clear, blah blah and they don’t know how long it take to complete. It's my money and they keep it without paying any interest.

On August 31 2010, I contacted the BBB and Attorney General Office for help. On September 02 2010, Chase mailed out the refund check for $14, 485.88 and I deposit the check on my bank account on September 07 2010. On September 08 2010, they made the stop payment on the check. The check returned non sufficient funds and there overdraft and other NSF charges on my checking account and other people accounts that I wrote the check for them.

I contact Chase executive officer Elisabeth at 1847 488 6000 ext 7185 for answer and she told me to wait for another 60 days for them to verify the credit balance on my account with other merchants that issue credit back on my account. This is unacceptable and breaking the law. She told me that I have no other choice and have to wait at least 60 days from September 10 2010 for them to start issue the refund.

As of today September 20 2010, the credit balance $16, 098.94 on my account and they keep holding on my money. And also they making my checking account and other people accounts incured overdraft fees for their stop payment on the refund check.

They acting as a giant commercial bank and they decide what ever they want to do. It been a lot of hassle to deal with them and it was my money and all they have is to return it to me which they did not.

I found the link below which answer about consumer loan refund from Controller of the Currency Administrator of National Banks saying they must refund the money within seven business days.

http://helpwithmybank.gov/faqs/loan_balance_refund.html

Chase using deceptive practice to bailout my rewards, now they try to bail out my money. This could result ruining my whole family financial cause by holding on my money, I'll make sure they responsible for it.

Time to switch to local banks and credit union.
