Fraudulent charges
Chase failed to conduct an adequate investigation after I disputed a fraudulent charge. They reinstated the charge before they had received the Affirmation of Fraud they required me to complete. Their denial letter offered no explanation as to how/why they had determined the charge was legitimate. There is no question the charge was fraudulent. Chase will not respond to my repeated requests to have this reviewed. I am being regularly contacted by Chase's collections department, who are uninterested in my dispute and unwilling to help get the issue addressed.

Late fee and Interest on Late fee. Not honoring 6 months no payment plus 0 percent financing
I made purchases on May 17 for 543 dollars at toyrus. I opened this account because they would give me 10% off, plus 0 percent interest and no payment for 6 months. I mailed a check for 543 dollars on July 1st. They are saying that they recieved it on 4th of July, dont know how and since payments were due on July 2nd, they charged me a late fee of 39 dollars on July 3rd. I assumed my account was paid in full. I got a statement today, 08/12 saying that I am late again so they charged me a late fee. Late fee and interest on their Late fee. When I called them, and asked about te promotion, they said that only purchases over 199 qualifies. Well, mine was for 543 dollars but they say that toyrus charged 2 seperate times, one for 399 and one for 145. I don't know why they did this but I had no idea or info about it. Anyhow, they refuse to waive the late fees and they talk to you in a disrespectful manner. I spoke with a lady named Crystal. Extremly rude. It took her 30 min to agree to transfer me to the supervisor. All she would say is that I am your account manager and I am handling this. Finally another lady got on the phone, same attitude. Probably was not even the manager. They refused to give me any info about any dept or agency where I can file a complaint. You can complain at helpwithmybank.gov. I am closing my account and paying the late fees. This is why the banking industry is in trouble. Its best to do business with small banks in your hometown.

interest rate
Unfortunately I was charged twice by my gym membership which caused me to go over my credit limit. I immediately let Chase know as I was charged an Overlimit fee and they were extremely rude and basically told me it was my problem. I called my gym, spoke with the manager who was extremely apologetic and immediately issued a credit for the duplicate charge as well as the Overlimit fee. All was good until my 9.99% interest rate increased to 29.24%. I once again called Chase, they simply didn't care and 2 managers hung up on me. (I am a Customer Service Representative as well and I was not rude therefore didn't deserve to be hung up on). I sent email after email requesting them to reinstate my rate and they continuously denied me. FINALLY, one last email...they reinstated it!!! I replied thanking them and went on my way until yesterday when my statement became available online. I opened it to find that they revoked the rate and put it right back to 29.24%. My min payment is now $100.00. I have the email proof that they reinstated it and now they are refusing to honor it.

Rate increase and Cash Advance Payments
My promotional fee went from 10.24% to 12.24% and I had also noticed that the cash advance total with a higher interest rate of 19.24% was not being paid off with my regular payments that are normally over the amount due. I wrote to Chase and asked them to apply the overage of my payments to the cash advance as I did not want the amount to keep increasing with the higher interest rate. They wrote me back and told me that they only apply the payment to the lower interest rates first and don't have the option to apply any extra payment money to higher interest amounts until the lower interest amount due is paid off. That is unfortunate and unfair as it will be a while before I pay off the $5700 with the now 12.24% interest. They offered to refund me the overage of payments I have made in the past years. They never did explain why my rate went up from 10.24% to 12.24% when I've been making my payments on time and over the amount due. I've always believed that when you make payments over the amount due, it gives some credit carte blanche. What a rip off! I am going to find another credit card company to transfer the total balance and get out of this scam as soon as I can!

Sent us promotional check to write, Cancelled it on us after we put it in the bank .
We had just received a promotional low interest check in our last statement to use on whatever we wanted to. WE never were late on a payment and had a 15, 000 credit limit available to us on the statement they gave us.
We wrote a 1, 900 check to our checking acct. to cover some bills we needed to pay. We wrote checks from our banking acct. paying these other bills.
After we sent out all these other checks, Chase cancelled the check for 1, 900. We were led to believe we had up to 15, 000 to use, then Chase calls and says they decided to drop our credit limit to 1, 200 after being with them for years and never having bad credit.
They tell us this after we wrote the check, way under what our credit limit was in the statement.
Their explanation is that they can lend money to who they want and they can change credit limits at any time... (That's just not right.)
Go to HelL Chase... We're done with you!!

screwing the public
I have been a Chase card holder since 2006. I have never missed a payment and have always over paid the minimum due. In may 2009 my balance due was zero as Chase had a promo you can skip a payment, but i had just made a payment so i figured this would be junes payment early. On july 12 2009 i went on line to check my account to find I am late and my rate went from 6.99 to15.25. Now I am a little ticked so I call customer service to try and fix it. Just short of SCREW YOU is what I got. I asked them do you really think after all this I want to skip a payment and have my rate double? The reply sorry there is nothing we can do. I belive me and my fellow americans just baled of the banks only to be Screwed again. This is wrong and I ask who ever reads this to stop making payments if you have been SCREWED too. My Last words where I'll see you in court.

Did not honor rewards balance
Without any warning to me whatsoever Chase Bank have cancelled my credit card due to "inactivity". I had over 26, 000 reward points on the account earned in good faith adhering to their purchase and payments policies. They inform me that these points are forfeited because the account has been closed.
This is sharp practice of the worst kind and I advise anyone who reads this to terminate any business with this set of crooks.

Late fees/cancelled 0% interest rate
I previously was a customer of WAMU who were bought out by Chase. I was able to keep my 0% interest rate which was great. I have always paid my payments on time and paid more than the minimum. One time I missed my due date by 3 days and they automatically charged me a late fee and removed the 0% rate and jacked it up to 12%. I called and explained what happened and their reply in not so many words was "sorry, that's the way it is and we can't do anything about it - have a nice day". I will tell everyone I know NOT to subscribe for a credit card from CHASE, very, very poor customer service. I hope people will read this comment and not work with CHASE.

2% to 5% Min without Opt Out Option
My wife and I personally have three credit cards with Chase Bank. On June 23, 2009, we received a change in terms for each account stating the minimum payment would be increasing from 2% to 5% of the ending balance. Over the years, we have consolidated our debt to these cards because Chase promised fixed low rates for the life of the loan and 2% monthly minimum payments. They said we had earned these terms as one of their "best" customers. We are not proud of our debt, but we had our reasons (child abuse at our daycare, our 6-year-old has Tourette's Syndrome, and I had bacterial meningitis). We made every single payment on time, in spite of the bad economy and our personal family hardships.
All 850, 000 of the customers targeted for this change in terms want to opt out of this change to the amendment to keep the terms the same and close our accounts but Chase WILL NOT LET US; this seems ILLEGAL and is definitely AMORAL. Carter Franke made a statement in front of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs on January 25, 2007. Franke said Chase would provide a customer with an "opt out" option when changes to terms were announced. Franke said, "this means that the customer may reject any change in terms, close their account, and pay off the balance under their existing terms." He lied.
Less than 14 months later, he provided testimony in front of the House Committee on Financial Services regarding the credit card reform bill (HR 5244). Franke said, “The bill requires a bank to follow payment terms which cost a great deal to implement – costs that will be passed on to consumers – and will virtually end competitive efforts to win business through low or zero interest offers. At Chase, our experience is that consumers appreciate these offers and take advantage of them. Many have become our long-term, valued customers…We believe that especially in times of economic uncertainty, our customers appreciate knowing that whatever financial strain they might face, we won’t add to it, as long as they remain in good standing with us.”
Carter Franke then threatened the same House Committee as follows: “We also very strongly believe the context in which HR 5244 is being put forward argues for considerable restraint on this legislation. In this uncertain economy, with credit markets already much tighter than they have been in many years, prudence would seem to dictate extreme caution with legislation that has the potential to further restrict consumers’ access to credit…there is clear indication that restricting credit cards [with this legislation] would likely have painful consequences for consumers and small businesses - and eventually for the U.S. economy."
I don't think the credit card companies should have been allowed any changes to terms after President Obama signed the credit card reform bill (HR 5244). Chase may have needed some time to get their paperwork in order but these changes to terms were definitely against the spirit of the delay in the effective date - it gave Chase time to follow through on their "painful" threats.
This recent credit card amendment to increase our minimum payments from 2% to 5% is absolutely ridiculous and needs to be reversed. These one million people cannot afford it and most of them will have to file for bankruptcy. We were already paying down our debt at a rapid pace with our low interest rate loans - we did not need "help" to pay them down any faster.

Wrong information given by their helpdesk, delays by the bank
I had a convenience check 0% until June 2009 statement opening date. Paid it off and it was posted on 5/29/09. Bills have statement dates that run from 12 of one month to 11 of next month. Called customer service desk and asked when I had to pay the balance by as their statements have Statement date mid month to mid month and wanted to be sure I paid off balance. Was told by their customer service desk (Stephanie) that I needed to pay it off prior to 6/1/09. Statement recieved on 6/18/09 covers 5/12/09 to 6/11/09. Called immediately June 18, 2009 as even though I paid the balance and it was posted on 5/29/09, they were billing interest. I dispute d charge and asked them to review their call center records (they are suppose to be recorded) and credit back that interest as I was given the wrong information. Really was getting no where so asked to speak to the supervisors supervisor and was told that it was Nancy and she was not there at the present time. I left a voicemail on Nancy's line and asked that she call me back that day as I was heading out for London and wanted to resolve this. Of course, no call back - in fact no call back while I was gone according to my husband and the answering machine. Wrote a letter 6/18/09 stating the facts and returned from London and there is no response and no call backs. Decided to pick up phone and call them to see what was going on. They told me they would not credit the interest and in fact they were billing more interest even though I took the time to write them and officially dispute the bill. In any case, I want to write to a higher up in the organization and also to the regulatory agencies. Can someone give me the names of the regulatory agencies I need to officially lodge my complaint?
