Steep, unwarrented late fees
I recently received a bill for a bestbuy credit card, operated by Chase Bank. It had a late fee of $35.00 because it was received one day late. The due date was actually May 31st: A SUNDAY! My electronic transfer did not get paid until the 1st, because Sunday is not a business day. Chase refuses to lift this late charge, although this is the first month that my bill became before the first of the month, so this also caught me off guard. I know the banks are hurting these days, but skimming the pockets of hard working people like myself over stupid technicalities is just plain horrable! TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!

IRRESPONSIBLE FEES
CHASE has gotten my attention and my vote for a melt-down...as an
arranged automatic payment did not go through (as I was paying off
the month's account balance)
and, without any notice to me of the failure of that payment, a $39
RETURNED PAYMENT FEE, a $39 LATE FEE, and a finance charge for the
UNPAID BALANCE gets added. The only notice is the next statement. My
vote was, as no remedy could be made in that matter, to cancel the
card and assure CHASE that no payment would be made until the charges
went into collection and I would make a "deal" on a settlement
payment.
My credit score can take that "hit"...probably CHASE can as well!!

Increased interest rate
After 30+ years with this credit card and a promise my rate would remain at a low prime+1% I was changed to 10%. My credit score is 800+ and I have never been late on any credit payment in my life. Chase could care less, they told me pay or cancel... So I will cancel and I hope they go down hard someday soon the way they treat thier customers.

Raising interest rate
I received a change in terms for my Chase credit card in the mail this week. I transferred a balance from another credit card because chase offered me a 4.9% rate on balance transfers until the transferred balance was paid off. Now they are telling me they are raising the interest rate to 11.9% plus prime or something like that on existing balances. That's a crock. I transferred that balance because of their 4.9% offer. How can they go back on that now. I've had this card for years and never been late on a single payment. I can opt out, but then they shut off my card. Ok, so be it. I'll just transfer the balance to another card, and I will also refinance my car that is currently financed through Chase. I do not want to do business with dishonest cheaters who have no loyatly to their customers

Late Fees
Chase Credit card services intentionally sets up monthly payment deadlines to fall on a Sunday so that paper-mail is not delivered and payment scheduled through your bank's website are not delivered until Monday so that they can assess late fee. Big scam. BEWARE !!

Chase credit card customer service:worst customer service comparitively WAMU
i have been using WAMU credit card since 3 years.I never paid my bill late.When wamu moved to Chase, i paid my bill just 2 days late and charged 39.99 as late fee and $10 for financial charges.I called customer service and asked her to remove those charges.She simply said that 'its not possible' and you are in grace period.
i requested her to remove atleast $10 financial charges then again same answer 'not possible'.
if WAMU is there i would have get all my extra charges back...

Change term of the account
We had a credit card account with Washington Mutual, which has been absorbed by Chase. We have always paid in an excellent manner. When we did not receive the March statement, I went ahead and scheduled a payment through online billpay. Anticipating that they could possibly change the due date, thereby putting me late and enabling them to change the terms of my account, I paid the bill 6 days earlier than usual. I received the statement today to discover that they did change the due date to 7 days earlier. So, I was one day late. I was charged a late fee and my interest rate was increased by 11%.
I called them and asked them to review my account with WaMu. If they did so, they would have seen that we have an excellent, long term payment history with them. Also, I made reasonable attempts to avoid this situation. Chase responded that they did send a bill and since there was no banking error, nothing would change. While on hold for a supervisor, I googled the situation to discover that many of those who were a part of the conversion did not receive a statement and the same thing happened to them. The supervisor agreed to waive the late fee, but the interest rate would remain.

Terrible Customer Service
Wow..is all I can say about the terrible customer service provided by Chase Credit Card Services!!
I just returned from a trip to Asia. Before I had left, I called Chase let them know I would be using their card overseas.
I was gone for a total of three weeks. Midway through my trip, I was trying to check into a hotel in Taiwan (it was approx. 9:00 pm). When I gave them my card, they said it was declined. I called the Chase Customer Service number to get it resolved so I could check into the hotel.
When I called the customer service number, they answered the phone by saying "Thank you for calling Chase Customer Care, this is XXXX. We are in the process of upgrading our systems so we will not be able to access your account. Please call back after 2:00 pm EST".
I thought this was a recording and said "Um..hello?". The customer service rep. responded by repeating the pervious statement.
I told her that I needed to speak to someone immediately because I needed to figure out what was going on with my card so I could get checked into the hotel. She said there was nothing she could do and for me to call back after 2:00 pm EST. This would be have been 6 hours later!!!
I was so mad!! I told her I needed to speak to a supervisor. When the supervisor came on the phone, she repeated the exact same message.
So...I was stuck in a foreign country with no credit card and no way to get into my hotel. THANK GOD!!! I called my personal bank and was able to apply for a credit card through them over the phone to check into my hotel. Otherwise, I would have been screwed.

Harassing phone calls
They call at least ten times a day and are extremely rude. They called every 15 minutes to 30 minutes demanding payment. I am a month late and had said that I already had one scheduled for the next day and still they call. I am extremely frustrated and don't think that this is legal. They should NOT be allowed to harass people like this. They have called so much that I am thinking of changing my phone number and hiring an attorney.

My Chase credit card history vanished!!
I've had multiple Chase credit cards in the past, never late on my payments. I rarely used one of my cards, which I've had since 2002. I used it maybe 4 months ago, and a few weeks ago I noticed that it was "disappearing" from my online account when I log in. I just called them, and they have absolutely no record of my card every existed. I understand a lot of credit card companies are canceling our cards because of inactivity, but 4 months?!?!?! And, even if they canceled my card, I think I deserve at least a piece of paper in the mail telling me that my card has been canceled. And, even if they don't give a damn enough to send me a letter, erase the record within weeks?!?!?! It's like 7 years of history just vanished... without even the courtesy to let me know!
