Chase Credit Cards Reviews

Violation of standarts
On December 14, 2010 I attempted to purchase a Christmas gift for my wife, but my Chase VISA card was rejected.
When I called Chase I was told that I exceeded my credit limit. I knew that my limit was approximately 16K and that I had just paid $5800, which would have allowed my extra purchasing power. After speaking with a customer service person who was rude and ignorant, possessing no listening skills, I spoke with a supervisor, Brandon *******, who also tried to explain the reason for the reduced limit.
For the 10th time, I told him that I wasn't calling about that, and I did not care about the reason.
My complaint was that I was not notified that my credit limit was reduced. Mr. ******* said that I would be notified in a day or two. Eleven days before Christmas you take my ability to purchase gifts away from my without advising me. This must be a violation of some standard.
Oddly enough, today (December 20, 2010) I received the notice (copy enclosed).

You can be assured I'll be closing my account.

Not paid
I have had a merchant dispute in July, 2010. I had purchased a Car off Ebay. I paid the "down-payment, " for $500 needed within 24 hours by Ebay rules. The merchant sent me the bill and was charging me an extra $150 for administrative charges that were not listed on EBay. I called the EBay Customer Service and I received written confirmation that the offer did not list the extra $150. The suggested I cancel the order. I called the merchant to ask them to wave the $150 and told them of what EBay suggested. I told them if they would not wave the administration fee, I would cancel the order. They just said cancel the order. After going through 5 months of credit card disputes, I sent an email to the merchant I would sue them in small claims court for total damages of $1, 400 that included all the time I had invested in resolving this situation. They told me they would return my deposit if they had actually got paid. I sent a summary top Chase and they told me that if the merchant was going to credit my account, within 75 days of paid, they would let them just credit me back and they would refuse the purchase dispute. Now, I still do not have any guarantee that I will ever get paid by the merchant and I will be getting stuck with the interest for $500 over 6 or more months. Chase needs to held accountable but I don't know what the best thing to do is.

Bad service
On 10/15/2010 I paid my Credit card in full.
I tried today to use my credit card and said it was declined. I find out that they charged me fees that I wasn't aware of and canceled my account for a balance of $80.32, that shouldn't be there since I paid the balance in full.
They didn't called me or sent me any letters.

I called for an explanation and they said my account was closed and they said There was nothing they can do.

Fraud
I had a large credit limit with Chase, once upon a time, that has been reduced each time I pay a large amount to the creditor. I pay $500, they reduce the credit line by $1, 000. I pay $1, 000, they reduce it by $500. Chase increased my APR to 29.99%. Wow. I called to have it reduced. Someone from a call center had it reduced to 27.24%. Hmm. So, I paid the balance down to less than half the credit limit. I called to have the APR reduced. They reduced the credit limit and did not reduce my APR. I have never been late on any payment, ever, with any creditor or bank or anything.

None of my other 3 creditors have done anything like this so I was amazed, disappointed, and very angry.

So, I called *** *** ****. I spoke with someone in Executive Services and explained my situation. They put my on the line with someone from lending and stayed on the line. After 35 min and 49 seconds, they could not do anything for me.

They said that my payment history was good and that the amounts paid were exceeding the minimum. They then said that because of my debt to credit ratio, I could not have my APR reduced. It was a circular conversation, but a pleasant one.

I want to pay down my credit card quickly, but I need to have a reduced APR. Chase will not reduce my APR because my debt to credit ratio is too high. I cannot improve my debt to credit ratio because each time I pay down my debt, they reduce my credit.

Warning
I was a loyal cutomer with chase credit card for about five years until tonight. About a month ago I recieved my bill in the mail and sent a payment in which always way over the mininum payment. I kept checking my bank account to see when when it went through and about after ten days of not seeing it I called the company and asked why they havent deducted it. Their response is that they havent received it yet. so I told the customer service agent that I would cancel the check and go ahead and pay for it over the phone, which I did. Well, last week I got a letter that stated they received my check but couldnt process it because it was cancelled. I called again and they reassured me that everything was in order and not to worry.

Scam
I noticed my WaMu credit card was about to expire yet I had not received a new card from Chase. I called and was told my account had been closed. When I asked why I was told by someone in India that they ran my credit report probably and decided not to extend credit after the expiration date. I had been an excellent cardmember since 2005. Then I noticed that my interest rate was bumped from 24% to 31%. I call SCAM. I subsequently closed all my Chase accounts so they're ultimately the losers. Be warned

Bank pirates
We have 3 credit cards from chase bank.

We have never been late on any payments. Our FICO scores are in the high 700's.

Yet in the past 6 months, chase bank has increased the interest rate on all cards and now lowered the credit limit on all the cards.

I heard chase bank made a profit of over 5 billion dollars last year, still they gouge people.

This is my complaint for all to see.

interest and tactics
They reduced 2 limits and closed a chase card of a bankrupt closed business CircuitCity. 3 letters all sent on the same day. The same day i politely requested a simple interest rate consideration is the day these three notices were issued. Was this a coincidence or dirty tactics? Chase Bank is the most vicious bank i know of an i have alot of credit card experience. I would not recommend anyone do business with this company.

Interest rate gouging
Chase is a terrible company to deal with. I have had my account for a few years, always made payments on time. Missed one payment by a day ( I was in the labor ward with my wife!) and I got hit with 29.99% interest. I was told to make a few payments on time and my account would return to 'good standing'. They then closed my account due to 'an anomoly in my credit report'; can't find one anywhere in my totally clean credit reports with no negative feedback.
Every payment I make is just hitting the interest, I pay $200 and my balance goes down $47!!!

CHASE IS TERRIBLE, NEVER get a credit card from them!
You get a different story from everyone you talk to, and nobody helps.
